The group said this was with regard to the government’s failure to fulfill its campaign promises after two years in office.
A statement signed by Fasipe Oluyemi, its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, said Buhari’s government, which had given hope on many positive promises during its campaign, had not lived up to the expectation.
Nigerian Wailers added that: “We are aware of President Buhari’s ill health and how badly it has affected governance in the country. We hereby call on Mr President to resign from office on health grounds. The country is in a very bad shape and cannot afford a part time or invincible President.
“Further more, we urge the National Assembly to do the needful if President Buhari is unable to resign by himself by impeaching him. The country should not be put on hold because of one citizen.”
