Nigerian Teen Studying In The US Held Prof Against Her Will In Hopes Of Getting Make Up Exam

A Florida teen went to extreme lengths last week to take a make-up exam.

Jude Chiedu Akachukwu, 19, was arrested on May 23 after he held his Santa Fe College professor against her will until she allowed him to retake an exam, according to the Gainseville Sun.

Police said Akachukwu went into the professor’s office, closed the door and blocked the doorway at the Gainseville campus until she gave him a make-up test.

The professor refused his request and tried to get away, but Akachukwu grabbed her arm, according to authorities.

When she threatened to call police, Akachukwu allegedly threw himself on the ground in a tantrum and cried.

She eventually left the office for class, but the student followed and disrupted her as she taught.

Akachukwu faces charges of false imprisonment, battery and disturbing the peace.

He was taken into custody at Alachua County Jail.

    2. Unfortunately this boy just ruined his life for such a silly mistake. We need to teach our kids if things don't go our way we don't become belligerent. Seems like millennial issue... most known for being spoilt and huge sense of entitlement. He needs to pack his load and move back to naija if he wants any shot at getting a job in the future

Well I hate to boil everything down to race but things are clearly different abroad.
Blocking someone's path might seem like a joke in Nigeria, but it's an offence here.
See as we see children, and innocently tickle them to make them laugh, here it is child/sexual abuse.
      Things are clearly different

  5. And here they won't see this action as wrong doing.
Yes, dude had good intentions, but went about it the wrong way.
He held someone against her will obviously using his strength.
I shudder to think of what he will do if left alone with a young girl that refuses to sleep with him.

Ps: My submission is based on the Info👆 If the events were twisted, ignore.

  6. Why are Nigerians always quick to claim these people as Nigerians. He has an igbo name so he is a Nigerian teen.

  7. @19 he forgot he is an adult, no longer a minor. He will be charged accordingly. SMH, he just dented his records with those charges, even if found not guilty, it will trail him. Especially that of "false imprisonment".

  8. If you prevent someone from leaving a room, house, etc You will be arrested for holding the person against their will because the person intended to leave and was prevented by the actions of the other person. End of story.
Dude has ruined his life at a young age. It is an unlawful imprison which is a felony in my state. Laws here are written in black and white. He should have known better and settled with the grade he was given.
Oyibo even suspends little kids from School here for fighting at School. Something that happens at the gates of our Schools in Naija daily. It just better to acquaint ourselves with the rules if you want to live or school here. Makes life a whole lot easier.

    1. Grow up! This must be your foolish son for you to defend his behavior. He thought he was in Nigeria where he could bully a female teacher. His stupid mentality brought about this foolishness.

  12. Why too much blame on the boy? In as much as he's not a minor he's still a small boy. He just acted like someone desperately in need of something. You didn't read the part he threw himself on the ground and cried. Yes he took it the wrong way but he shouldn't be judged.

  13. You blocked your teachers way. Why did he not just stay in the room and cry. IR wait outside her door and cry. Clearly he had mind. To even be disrupting her lesson. Could he try that in sec school in naija? Think about it.
