Nigerian billionaire oil tycoon Igho Sanomi has granted his first-ever media interview. Sanomi, who is the founder of Taleveras Group, recently spoke to Forbes Magazine where he talked about his earliest beginnings in the oil trading business.
In the interview, Sanomi, who turns 42 today, tells the story of how he built his energy trading empire and wealth from scratch.
He said that contrary to popular belief that he made his fortune during the Jonathan administration, he actually started his company Taleveras at the age of just 25 years old when he started executing fuel import contracts on a third party basis for local Nigerian businessmen who simply got the contracts and resold them to international oil companies.
Sanomi, whose company has offices in 7 countries across the world, talked in honesty about some setbacks he has encountered in business, and his plans for the future.
He also told Forbes of how he is honouring the legacy of his late father, Dickens Sanomi, through the Dickens Sanomi Foundation, an organization through which Igho donates millions of dollars every year to education, health and humanitarian causes across the world.
