WTF?
ReplyDeleteUber driver doesn't know his place, there's a class division in Nigeria a lot of people don't understand this. You think it's Nollywood, rich, smart chic fall in love with uber driver/cleaner ehhhh. E go do una like film trick - ain't gonna happen, stop dreaming and wishing bad things for somebody biko
DeleteBeverly you are obviously the opposite of what the UBER driver described. For what this radarada attention seeking thing you did.you must be an educated illiterate to think this way
DeleteIt is not a matter of class division. As an HR person, I can categorically state that this was very unprofessional of the Uber driver. And no, it is not because he is a driver, as a Uber driver , he can be anything else in his real life. It was just unprofessional and to be honest, a Lil bit creepy
DeleteNot in naija people give drivers 2 drive der cars for them o so naija uber is not d same of d once in overseas
DeleteBeth.. u don't know how to use articles A/An appropriately.
DeleteA HR personnel
An Uber driver
You are welcome
Nigerians this is so inappropriate & if you have even been stalked before you would know this is how it starts, this is how serial killers start, he could have told her in person , see even he said don't report me , he knows
DeleteInappropriate unprofessional communication. Nigerians will never respect people's privacy.
ReplyDeleteThere's no big deal in what he wrote.
DeleteThere is nothing wrong with the message, she is obviously looking down on the uber driver. If it was someone else she met somewhere and in a different senerio, she won't expose the text for the fear of side chicks, she would have replied. Rubbish.
DeleteThis is highly inappropriate. I will keep saying it. Uber has a policy of respecting the fact that people divulge an immense level of information on their platform to ensure it works properly. This includes home address phone no and even credit card details. This puts the customer at very high risk. As a result uber has a policy that states that you are not to use and abuse the information you have just cos you have access to it. My friend has been stalked by an uber driver for months. She didn't want to get him sacked so she didn't report him until she discovered that he used true caller to get her name, tracked her on fb and has been sending obscene messages on that platform. It is such a shame that Nigerians have no regard for policies and procedures with people saying it's only a compliment. It is now until his ego get bruised that he didn't get a reply and he starts something else. It's same you people that will cuss her out. This uber driver even knows he could be in trouble for doing this hence his opener. Until we begin to respect due process, we can't move forward in this country. And liking a girl is no excuse for flaunting same.
DeleteGosh guy, haven't we learnt anything on the Internet?
My question is doesn't she have a car?
DeleteThank You, Anon. Most Nigerians are not conscious at all. They think its all play and love. He was unprofessional, period.it is only an unaware kind that would say there's nothing wrong with that message
DeleteEverything is wrong with the message. The fact that he had her number through the uber transaction doesn't give him the right to abuse it and invade her privacy.
DeleteAnd it's not about being a driver. It is purely unprofessional
So here's the joke.
ReplyDeleteShe came under fire after posting this. She deactivated comments then went on and on about being a private person and how she intends to keep wit that way, reposting Amoshine's "shove it up your ass" video.
She posted her business out there, received a backlash (apparently, that's not what she anticipated).
What I am trying to say is, these celebs put their business out there, joyless trolls come for them and they start screaming "we are humans" too.
Stop posting your shit out there if you can't take the heat!
Pls stop feeling like you've said something that makes sense here. The fact that you and your fellow daft Nigerians gave her heat doesn't make her wrong. This is inappropriate.
DeleteNext thing he will go n kill her and we will start stories that massage the soul. And it's people like you that will have the loudest voices at that time. Dodoyo
Anon 13:53 biko don't mind dummy dumb dumb aka shitshine above
DeleteApparently, she must've forgotten how unaware Nigerians generally are, I'm sure most people thought she should've felt flattered because, you know, a man found her homely enough to wife. *sigh* Why should she catch heat for this? We Nigerians can be tiresome tho
DeleteHaha. I'm sorry you feel this way.
DeleteIf you read properly, you'd see that I was only talking about celebrities putting their business out there and screaming "haters" when the heat is turned on them.
She could sent the Snapchat caption as a reply to the guy instead of showing the world and getting lashed for it.
Stupid person you are.
just compliments, nothing misleading there. he isn't your employee, you aren't his employer too, that would have been inappropriate. this is just a client-customer relationship, compliments is allowed.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, what do I know?
Chiki, throw more light.
Abeg help me tell am oh.
DeleteYour comment will be visible after approval.
I was looking for the romantic part. I read and re-read and was wondering if the sms was complete.
DeleteOr has the meaning of romantic message changed?
Na wa
Nope. This is unsolicited. And he is her employee. At least for the time she is paying him to drive her. All information in his control during and after that time are same. I once met an uber driver I liked and asked for his no. I didn't assume I could access it since he already called me. That's inappropriate
DeleteAgain, thank you Anon for saving me from all that typing. We Nigerians tend not to understand when lines and boundaries are being crossed. O don't have energy to type, abeg
DeleteThis isn't romantic now. Well from your perspective it is. To me this is someone who just feels right to appreciate and compliment a woman like you nothing more. He probably wants nothing from you so don't take it south.
ReplyDeleteBut this isn't a romantic text Bev, it's actually a compliment.
ReplyDeleteNobody knew what transpired between you guys
ReplyDeleteI don't see anything wrong here.
ReplyDeleteThe driver himself knew it was inappropriate hence his "don't report me... " talk. But we live in a society where
Delete* a doctor or even gynecologist will hit on you on the job
* you go to open an account in a bank or request for ATM and the banking staff collects your number and begin to text you.
*some people dial random whatsapp numbers, see female display pictures and begin to discuss.
*u dial a wrong number and the guy on the other end keeps calling that he likes your voice and wants to meet you.
So, here a lot of unethical things happen.
It was wrong for the uber driver to collect her number and begin to text her, even though she may have been friendly and told him that she was exhausted and all that. He should have at least asked for her consent. She didn't dial him for the sake of himself but as an uber driver. But no, here, women are supposed to accept and endure any male attention because they are women and accept everything as a compliment, 'after all, there are people who no man tells hello"
Aside from this, Beverly herself is wrong for airing it on social media. If she found it inappropriate, she should have reported him or ignored. But no, she enjoyed the whole attention like a woman in midlife crises, probably even replied this text but wants to pass it off as a 1 sided thing
And she brought it on social media just so we can know people see her as all the good names listed above. If he had said otherwise would she have posted it?
ReplyDeleteI'm just thinking out loud. That's all.
Yinmu!
ReplyDeleteThe driver's crushing on her.
ReplyDeleteAttention seeker, must you tell us?
ReplyDeleteHe was even paying her a compliment, nothing romantic there. Na lack of sex dey worry beverly.
Delete😆😆😆😆😆😆😆 at lack of sex, no mind her
DeleteWhat is UBER driver bikonu?
ReplyDelete@Dullapo slim shady
DeleteNne, Uber driver is all these new slim tea variants with different flavors.
There is Uber driver 1 (zero calories type)
Uber Driver Mix Me(with fragrant herbs)
Uber Driver Black (Premium Brazilian black tea
You are welcome.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
DeleteThis anony has craze finish...
Anon you're a mumu, hahaha.
Delete😂😂😂
DeleteA lot of wicked people on this blog 😂😂😂😂 slim tea variants bawo?
DeleteYou have a creative mind 👏👏👏
LMAO! This anon is a case. LOL
DeleteOk! Next.
ReplyDeleteRomantic text ke? Beverly what is the name of your primary school? We need to collect all fees paid.
DeleteStella Nonsense in Yoruba is Radarada
I see NOTHING romantic or inappropriate with the text. She probably was calm and didn't go all diva on him during the ride, He just had to appraise her.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad how these days you cannot be or say something nice to the opposite sex without them thinking you want them. SMH.
MISS Jacobs.
You just said it all! I see nothing inappropriate in this text, just compliments she should have just replied with a thanks and then move on...... Some Nigerians wnt cease to amaze me with their thoughts Sha.
DeleteThanks will turn to something else. He will lose his job if uber hears this. Do you know how many people have been harmed from such "harmless" texts?
DeleteSo what should we do with this info?
ReplyDeleteI wonder o..
DeleteYou should know that it is inappropriate for your uber driver to text you after he drops you off unless he is resolving a dispute or you expressly say feel free to call or text me. Duuuuuhhhh
Deletestelllllllllaaaaaa
ReplyDeletedis. ur Yoruba ve ko lu ra o
Awwwww very inappropriate but I guess he was carried away by her beauty lol
ReplyDeletePls explain how it was inappropriate? A mere compliments? He even included u don't have to reply or report me. And she ended up doing both! Make she pack go one side jor, attention seeker. simple thank you would have sufficed.
DeleteNothing inappropriate about the text Biko.
DeleteWhat is she feeling like, there is nothing wrong with it, it's just a sincere compliment. The one she will appreciate is texts from fuck boys that will only use her and dump her. It's not everyday we get such compliments bo.
ReplyDeleteso someone can't complement her again
ReplyDelete#GOAT™
What is romantic or inappropriate about this messag. It is a freaking compliment, she must have engaged the Uber driver in a conversation hence the need for the text message......just like the one I used last night, dude was so smart we argued about amErica and Korea all the way to my destination. She is just seeking attention!
ReplyDeleteThanks jare.
DeleteProlly, she led him on..
Maybe they had a cossy conversation..
Na wah, he showed you with praise wahala, he insults you Na wahala still.
ReplyDelete**sigh** he is not supposed to compliment or insult her, am he is supposed to do is drive her to where she was going **kaput**
DeleteBefore he can use any info obtained from that transaction, he should've asked her for permission to before she left the cab. It is inappropriate..
What am I even saying? Are these not some of the same Nigerians that supported Kemwn and said he did nothing wrong?
Beth just rest easy because you will repeat yourself tire. No be Nigerians again? Where most women feel sexy when they hear catcalls and Wolf whistles? and most men don't think it's inappropriate or degrading?
DeleteI receive such sms na report straight! He knew what he was doing was wrong so started the sms on that page...you know it was wrong then why do it? To admire woman dey hungry you yet you flaunt the rules of the work you signed under to send her unsolicited sms.
Nonsense and ingredient!
Is it also right/unprofessional for a pilot to send you a message, when you get off the plane?
DeleteHian! How did the pilot get your phone number? Did you help him 'drive' the plane or did he serve you biscuits and tea during the flight?
DeletePlease let us finish the one on land before we start sorting out the complaints in the sky.
Very soon the one who took canoe last month will come with complaint. Smh.
Wehdone ma! Lmao.... at Stella's Yoruba.
ReplyDeleteBeverly sharing it is equally inappropriate, I see nothing romantic there, just a text to convey that he admires your personality.
ReplyDeleteI dont consider this as romantic though
ReplyDeleteThis uber in Nigeria are not professional atall. It's okay for her to have her standards, Everylady does unless you don't know your worth don't come here acting like saint nwaegbe Biko.
ReplyDeleteGbammest comment
DeleteEven if it was a romantic text, what is expected is to decline if she is not interested not to throw it to the public.
ReplyDeleteThe truth is that the Uber guy seems sweet and harmless.. but he crossed the line.
ReplyDeleteNigerians,Afticans make light of these things. But as long as that guy drives her,and gets paid by her,That text is inappropriate.
Same way Relatives will travel 12 hours to your home uninvited, without a call. Noting them or stating the obvious doesn't mean you are wicked, things should be done appropriately.
If she encourages this dude, and he starts having a crush on her... attempts to way-lay her or even bring harm to her, same people will say she gave him signals.
This is not even because he is an Uber driver, your boss at work should not send you inappropriate messages too. If he wants to commend your work,he can write a letter of commendation, or keep you in view for a promotion or raise.
Nigerians feel these things are nothing, same way they would ask a Rape victim if ahe was a virgin. 'Is it cos he is an Uber driver.. cant he admire her qualities again' Most secret admirers start like this.. then get mischievious when they realise you are dating someone else.
I don't know why she shared it on social media.. I know her to be extremely private but She is absolutely right.
Whether he is your Driver ooh, cook ooh, MD/CEO,Customer,Landlord,Investor, Professionalim must always come to play.. Except both of you(singles) fall for each other, naturally. That is the only time work relationships translate into something else, mutually.
I don't see any inappropriateness in this.
DeleteShe's not his employer. It's a business relationship.
So many people met their hubby through business relationships.
The best she could have done is stop using the uber guy if she's uncomfortable with him.
Afterall,she's not married.
Toasting is allowed.
Always on point.
DeleteIphi'm, the dude just paid her a compliment which she should have responded with a simple straight jacket thank you.
DeleteIt is only when he begins to send mushy messages afterwards that would call for this.
Thank you!!
DeleteI can't believe I'm reading people saying "it's a compliment now, it's not inappropriate ".
His so called compliment has made his employer (yes! As long as she employs his driving services for a few hours or so, she automatically is an employer) feel uncomfortable.
I know someone who this happened to, she kept using the driver knowing that said driver had a major crush on her. Driver ended up raping her!
This is totally, TOTALLY inappropriate and I would certainly report him to his establishment if I'm feeling particularly pissed off that day. The nerve. Kmt.
Which one is "she is looking down on the uber" what type of mentality do y'all have to excuse such blatant crap? Sheesh.
My Bloggilicious darlyn..
DeleteI think the dude drinks her a lot.. Maybe she has an arrangement with them.
Its a nice compliment coming from a sweet place. I understand, not yet romantic, but could become that.
They are not allowed to send messages like this for obvious reasons, why go against his company policy? I'm sure those rules were put in place for reasons like this. I understand your point💋
Gbogbo, It doesn't really have to be about marriage you know. She might be in a relationship for all we know.. not every girl is out there hunting for a husband. It is the fact that a person in the line of duty is texting his employee of 1 hour,2days or 3months.
Nwamaka happy holidays dear💋
*Drives.. inukwa Drinks😳😳😳
DeleteLOL
Oooh I see mi love...
DeleteIf it's against company's policy then its wrong.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂auto Correct wehdone oo @ drinks
Haba mana Beverly! What's inappropriate about the above text or is there another? Dude was just smitten by the niceness and humility of a such a gorgeous "celebrity" and he sent you the text. Noticed that the end of his text was basically a prayer and an encouraging message for you to keel it up? Abeg let's learn to have free minds and not assume every compliment we receive is geared towards wooing US.. It shows some level of lack of self esteem. Ciao
ReplyDeleteWomen sef. U can never please them.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing innapropriate in this sms
ReplyDeleteErmmm, To me this was just an innocent compliment the guy gathered kidney to send based on their 'friendly' interaction during the ride I guess. I would have just still replied with 'awww thanks'. Beverly would have taken it overboard if the guy tries sending another and start blabbing you know. Some peeps just takes this life tooooo seriously though.
ReplyDeleteMa network be doing me strong thing today of all days bikonu. Mscheeew
😅😅😅@ gathered kidney
Delete😆😆😆@gathered kidney.
DeleteMy point exactly. Just what I was telling Iphi'm in my reply to her comment.
Network is really crazy. Mine be acting up since yesterday. So annoying.
Hahahahaha! Bloggie, na so na!
Delete#Fears only exist inside your head, eliminate them and your life becomes limitless*
ReplyDeleteIs there another text we are not being shown.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the toasting here now.
Attention seeker, yinmu
ReplyDeleteNothing bad about the message though but it is unprofessional.
ReplyDeleteThere is a rating after each service and a column you can give feedback.
Oga next time, don't send your client such message and Bev please keep your business to yourself.
Beverly I say go shit for bottle because na driver u dey form inappropriate but if na one senator it will be appropriate ,rubbish I just an attention seeker Tboss sister
ReplyDeleteHollup! Hollup!!
DeleteLeave TBoss out of this.
What concerns agbero with overload? What did Tboss do in this scenario? If you are a lady, the earlier you understand and take appropriate action against unsolicited and unwanted attention that crosses the line the better for you.
DeleteBeverly it is not a romantic message, but you are right, it is inappropriate
ReplyDeleteWe only are seeing this cause she's not interested in the guy what if she's the one making the move? Some drivers are correct graduates if he had money now she won't share this.... it's boo this bae that we will hear pls next?
ReplyDeleteExcuse me Beverly, This is not inappropriate in any way. We don't know the kind of conversation you had with him during the journey which must have prompted him to send you a complimentary text. Please take several sits. Just cause he's a driver doesn't make him less of a man. Who are you by the way? I know some freaking rich guys dt does uber just cause they love driving n decided to make extra cash while doing what they love.
ReplyDeleteIf he likes let him be a billionaire doing undercover boss as an Uber driver! What he did was wrong and inappropriate take it or leave it, he also knew so started the sms on that tone Jeez!
DeleteEverything wrong with society starts with how people think. I cringe when I see what supposedly 'educated' people reason.
ReplyDelete@Beth/Ralu M you make absolute sense but unfortunately you waste your breathe.
We're not talking billboards or bus stops.
ReplyDelete
