NYSC Member Gifts Laptop to the Best Graduating Student of His Place of Assignment

An NYSC member, Okoroha Kingsley Chino, has stirred new conversations on his Instagram after he rewarded the best graduating student of his place of primary assignment.

According to Chino, the SSS3 student, Okoro Izuchukwu, emerged the best graduating student of Government Secondary School, Elekahia in Rivers State, and to properly reward the young student who aspires to become a lawyer, he gave him a laptop.

“He was moved to tears as he never expected such prize for his diligence and hardwork,” says Okoroha Kingsley Chino who no longer serves in the secondary school.

The NYSC member continued, “In a society where talentless people are celebrated, profanity is rewarded, nudity lauded; in a society where the winner of a math olympiad gets a mathset and some notebooks while a teenager skilled in the act of “Azontry” and “shokitude” gets a car as a reward, this gesture of mine was aimed at recognizing and giving honour to whom it is actually due.”

This heartwarming story comes only weeks another NYSC member, Gbadamosi Mayowa, serving in Edo State was arrested after he took to Instagram to brag about his sexual affair with an underage student of his place of primary assignment.

Recall that Mayowa Instagrammed his sexual exploits, an activist Esther Ijewere took up the case with the Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs and got Mayowa arrested.

Now, another member of the National Youth Service Corps has shown dedication to their place of primary assignment, and we are so proud of him!

Read his story:

“Meet Okoro izuchukwu gospel, the eventual winner of the laptop i had previously donated to be given to the best graduating ss3 student of GSSS Elekahia. He hails from Imo state Nigeria and aspires to become a lawyer.

“He was moved to tears as he never expected such prize for his diligence and hardwork. In a society where talentless people are celebrated, profanity is rewarded, nudity lauded, in a society where the winner of a math olympiad gets a mathset and some notebooks while a teenager skilled in the act of “Azontry” and “shokitude” gets a car as a reward, This gesture of mine was aimed at recognizing and giving honour to whom it is actually due… The hardworking ones with a zeal for academic excellence”

  11. If wishes could come true ehn, i would just put nigeria on a 6 month break. Remove every single governor, senator, local govt chairman etc....just remove all of them including the president. Get well-meaning and educated nigerians to take 2 months to properly screen candidates btwn 27 and 40 years of age. Replace all these old touts with them and let the country start again. Nigeria needs to be purged. I'll wake up from sleep now.
