The Labour room drama is still on..As the babies pop, send in....
It all started on 19th of April, 2014 being holy Saturday. I woke up in the morning and went for antenatal as usual.
The doctor checked me and gave me another appointment in two weeks time. Around 10pm that same day, i started feeling somehow as if i was having pains around my waist.
As the pain increased i told my husband that we have to go to the hospital. We left immediately and when we got to Ago round about there was a serious hold up.
Before i can say jack Robinson my water broke , i checked immediately and feel my baby's head. I shouted 'my baby is coming ooooooooo', there was chaos everywhere. I respected Nigerians that day. Everybody was willing to help.
My husband with some good Nigerians ran out looking for a nearby hospital, at this point there was nothing else to do. People around spread cartoon for me in front of a shop along the road.. Two women ask me to push that i can not make it to the hospital again.
At this point i knew is only me and God. All the people that surrounded me i don't know them from Adam. Immediately a man came back with a nurse and she asked me to push, i pushed once and my baby came out. Meanwhile all these happened on the road around 11pm and there was no light . She was using only one touch.
She cut the placenta and did everything she has to do. When my husband came back with two nurses, i am already carrying my baby girl in my hands. We went to the hospital from there and the doctor checked both of us and said everything is fine, that we can go home.
My baby girl is 3 years today , anytime i look back and remember everything that happened that night all i could say is THANK YOU LORD. This is my story thank you everyone for reading and God bless you all. Pls don't mind my typos. Stella Please i will like you to post this on the 19th of April, thank you.

ReplyDeleteWow! Lemme close my mouth!
ReplyDeleteWow, short labour.
ReplyDeletePls mothers in the house, I am pregnant for d first time with no experience at all, what brand or type of toiletries should I buy for my baby? Also, my latest scan gave me a gestation age that is one week ahead of what my last menstrual period predicts, which report should I believe?
ReplyDeleteDon't panic. The hospital should give you a list of the things you need to buy. Its OK for the 'scan edd' and the 'calculate edd' to be slightly different. Just know that you are expected to deliver your baby, anytime between the 2 weeks before the calculated edd and 2 weeks after. Fear Not. God dey
DeleteAs for toiletries, don't waste your money, invest in coconut oil, olive oil and shea butter, your baby's skin will thank u for it...you can just get Johnsons head to toe bath or Johnsons bar soap for bathing.
DeleteHmmm...disinfectant,olive oil, baby soap preferable Johnson baby(usa),baby powder preferable johnson(usa),cotton wool, cotton bud. For gestation age my doctor asked me which one I wanted to use and I chose from my last menstrual period hopefully the baby would come when God wants it to.
DeleteJohnson baby soap almost destroyed my baby's skin. Had to change to sebamed soap and lotion. I love Shea butter too but needed quick solution for the damage caused by Johnson. My baby's skin now is 😘😘. For the list, your matron abi nurse will give you one. My advise however is to be careful the things you buy cos newborns grow very fast. Being a first time mum I bought somethings I need not use, not using and might not use😁. Love to your growing 👶
Delete😘😘😘 mum😊
