Italy Deports 40 Nigerians

The Italian government has deported 40 Nigerians for committing various offences in the country.

The deportees arrived at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMlA), Lagos, on Tuesday night.

The deportees, who are all male, were brought back in a chartered aircraft with registration number EL-SMU/3737.

Joseph Alabi, spokesman of the Lagos airport police command, confirmed the development to NAN.

Alabi said 39 of the deportees were alleged to have committed immigration-related offences while one of them was allegedly involved in drug dealing.

He said the deportees were received by officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) , the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and the police.

Also on ground to receive them were officials the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

They were profiled by immigration authorities while those without serious charges were allowed to depart to their various destinations.

This is the third time the Italian government has expelled Nigerians in less than two months.

  3. Deportation from right left centre, nigeria will be over populated, less job, increase in criminal activities. So many "innit" guys will be roaming around deceiving women. This is not a good development.

  4. Stella if you see how Nigerians behave in the diaspora ehn I am surprised they even still bother to give us visa.

In fact u would do yourself a world of good to avoid naijas, jamaicans and black Americans in general.

I was robbed by my fellow naija in Johannesburg. You would think we would lay low and behave in another mans country.

They fight everywhere, shout in public places and are generally unruly only for police to come and you don't have papers, is it not logical to lay low?

  6. If world leaders really want to do right, it is not by deporting Nigerians in their countries, it is by banning EVERY. Nigerian leader from entering their countries no matter what! Every Nigerian legislator, every governor, every one of these bastards that has rendered this country so unlivable, that has turned Nigeria into a hell hole that t
he citizens have become so hopeless, a country where people would rather "trek" through the Sahara to Europe than stay, a country where people will do ANYTHING to get out of! They should all be banned, no matter what, no more medical trips, no more vacations, nothing, they should be MADE to stay in their country AND MAKE IT RIGHT! If they're stuck in this hell and have absolutely no where else to run to to go spent our money, they'll be forced to make things right for us all.
I hate this country and can't wait to get out joor! I taya.
