  5. Halima you mean you flew to India for an ordinary myomectomy that doesn't even take up to an hour to be removed in my hospital here in naija? Well, whatever works for you.

Halima try and take in joor,if you can conceive its helps to prevent recurrence of the fibriod. If not, if the uterus remains fallow for too long, there's high risk of it coming back.
    Sannu ,wishing you quick recovery.

    6. 1st of all, it depends on the type of fibroid, and how many. U can't assume all myomectomies last 1 hour. Mine lasted over 3hrs.

    7. Na so you do your own counseling for your hospital? So callous

Mtcheeeee..every sensible person knows the risk of reoccurrence of fibriod can be nip to the bud if the woman is lucky to take in. I know conception is usually very difficult, but if she's lucky to take in ,then, the high risk factor of reoccurrence is cut off.
Who doesn't know that is prolonged unproductive uterus that causes fibriod?
You guys should use your goggle don't transfer your aggression to me am not the "causer " of your sorrows.

    14. Wow! What a sad oxymoron! Your moniker and this particular comment. Darling, I hope you aren't one of those who shame baby mamas because a lot of people are so accustomed to making epic somersaults from one contradictory point of view to another under the same breath, hypocrisy becomes them effortlessly.

The few times I've happened on your comments, flippancy isn't your style or have I pegged you wrongly? Take it from a lady who went through hell to conceive, even at a relatively young age, comments about pregnancy or the lack thereof should be tasted properly before spat out! ‎Some women go through all sorts just to conceive, some die in the process. With your apparent vast medical knowledge, you know achieving pregnancy is not like a wardrobe change. Not every lady is lucky enough to get knocked up at will. Am I taking this personal? Damn straight, I am! You just broke my heart, I had to do a double take to be sure I wasn't mistaking your moniker for another.

You have to be mindful of how powerful words are. The lady in question isn't married, yet you want her to go get knocked up, not because she is emotionally and psychologically ready for a baby, but just to reduced the chances of fibroids regrowth? So babies are now used as preventive measures? What a selfish way to think.‎ My darling, it costs nothing to be empathetic.

  7. The sad truth is that ones a woman is up to 30yrs without children. The chances of developing fibroid is very high. My elder sis has it. Docs told her she need not worry that they were really small. Today she is pregnant and those very small stones are now like giants competing for space with the baby. Its a miracle she could even get pregnant. We are all believing in GOD to see her through.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I wish her safe delivery in Jesus name...But please tell your sis to see a gynecologist it is advisable they do CS for her b4 the pregnancy is 9months maybe like 7/8 months they should remove the baby bcos ones it gets too big it suffocates the baby and it becomes still birth...

    2. These demons called fibroids.

I tried to conceive for 3 years with no luck and conceived 3 months after I had surgery.

Depending on the location, but fibroids prevent conception.

When I go for my scan now and I see my baby; I always thank God. No useless fibroid is competing for space with my child. @ Spanish lantern, your sister will carry to full term in Jesus name, amen.

      Delete
    3. @soft, thanks so much. We all agreed that she would undergo cs before 9months. But one yeye doctor told the husband that from the scans my sister can push and her husband is now considering normal delivery. We've begged him that we are not so poor in case money is the issue. We will all contribute.

    4. Anon 15:52 you're so lucky. Some people undergo surgery but still cannot get pregnant. Amen to your prayers.

  14. @Intelligentsia Princess, you call it "ordinary myomectomy" of less than an hour? I pity you indeed! Do you know the fibroids size and number? Last week, I was in a theatre in Lagos for an open myomectomy. I spent close to 4 (four) hours in that theatre where about 37 ( thirty seven) fibroids of various sizes were removed from my uterus. Some as large as 10cm! Thank you Jesus for seeing me and Halima through the ordeal of fibroids surgery. I was between life and death, lost sooooo much blood, but thank God for his mercies. Less than a week after surgery, I was already on my feet doing chores myself. Back to work tomorrow Monday- less than 2 weeks post surgery. God is good!

      Nonsense

    4. @anonymous 14:14, I don't agree with you, sweetie. This world is already toxic enough, if you must have a baby, it should be for the right reasons. A child needs stability and the love of BOTH parents. Most single mothers aren't single by choice. Some of these "love children" were conceived by at least one parent who thought she/he was in a healthy relationship with a loving partner but something or someone rocked the proverbial boat and the relationship ended. Others were not planned but the ladies decided to keep the pregnancies.‎

I feel having a child just to "save" your womb is selfish and "un-motherly". Mothers are known ‎for their amazing sacrificial love, a mother sacrifices her life for her child and not the other way around. Hey! But what do I know, right?

@Intelligentsia, sweetheart, same message different presentation. Your delivery was careless, offensive and a shy away from being crass, if I'm to be honest. ‎It came out too insensitive. I don't know about the others who came for you, but my issue with your comment is, you were too flippant and detached for such a sensitive matter.

  26. At the anon who says India has the best doctors, I beg to differ. I find them for the most part arrogant and incompetent. It's as if they never dreamt they would amount to anything, so they are frightened and lord their title over you, not just their doctors alone, anyone who became something, one of the most arrogant group of ppl I have ever come across. On to their actual ability, I would prefer to deal with a black or Jewish doctor over any other group. I have an Iranian GP and she is fabulous, otherwise, I would not willingly choose an Indian doctor for anything. Indian doctors are no good with dosage, always prescribing the wrong dose, simple sutures they can't do properly leave you with fckd up scars. Plus, with their racist attitudes I would not trust they are giving me the best care possible. I'll stick with Jewish and black doctors as my #1 preference to deal with.

You are an effing idiot. Thank God others have answered you. Just a few people come back whole. They are scamming in India. Who is comparing with Indian doctors in the NHS who are under scrutiny, checks and all sorts to make sure they excel. In India there are no checks and all they do is take your money with their low standards. Thank God for Halima's life.
