FRSC Suspends Sector Commander And Others For Cutting The Hair Of Female Staff

The Federal Road Safety Corps has suspended Ayodele Kumapayi, its sector commander in Rivers State, for cutting female officers hair with scissors.

Photos of the controversial disciplinary action, which came during a routine parade exercise, circulated on the internet on Monday.

The FRSC spokesperson, Bisi Kazeem, said in a text message to premium times on Tuesday morning that other officers who allegedly participated in that act have been suspended alongside Mr. Kumapayi.

He said the sector commander accused the female marshals of carrying long hairdo.

Mr. Kazeem said the Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi, ordered the errant officers immediate suspension pending investigation into the incident.

    4. Illiterate point of view all shouting no respect for women! Its paramilitary for crying out loud! You have to obey orders that's why thus country grows at a very slow pace. People bringing in sentiments and personal opinions. The question to ask is: What is the best practice as it applies world wide. People are looking for jobs, you give them and they can't stick to rules of engagement.
Nigerians learn to read. engage your minds, think deep. People accept mediocrity as the norm. We have a very long way to go. You see the army? They are very disciplined.

    5. And who is the illiterate here? You are just a bunch of half baked illiterate... the flagrant disregard for processes, rule of law and systems is what has put our country where it is today... all institutions have disciplinary measures for disobeying constituted authority.. give them a query, warning or suspension..he abused their human rights and the foolish women stood there..the paramilitary has rules regarding dressing and am sure a system to discipline offenders... glad he was recalled cos he abused his authority

    1. If she violated or broke the rule, they should have a subtle and appropriate way of disciplining them.
For example,I wear a cloth that is not appropriate to work or an occasion ,will you strip me naked because is inappropriate ?No. The boss is just a foolish person.

  8. When I tell parents to be mindful of the names given to their children they will tell me to mind my business. How can someone name his child ikumapayi(death Wiill kill him)? Some names are just cussed and ought to be changed.
I won't blame the man, his name is really working against him. He should be thankful he didn't try this in the north where they cherished their women with beautiful long hair, that death in his name would have killed him at the spot.
    Errant nonsense.

    1. The woman is not mumu in anyway Infact she is sharp. If she has done something against the rules of FRSC by wearing long hair extensions then the only thing the oga can do is order her off the parade, give her suspension, scold her verbally and dish out the punishment via orders. The moment he laid his hands on her then it's an assault and the high command of FRSC knows that. And to make it worse he has also disrespect the uniform which is a national symbol of authority. The lady will still serve her punishment as stated in their code of conduct but the oga might totally lose his job if the lady decides to take it further by suing him for aggravated assault. Smart woman ...now they have to beg her to suppress the whole mess.
