EYEBROW COMPLAINS
Where are all the beauty experts in the house?  Please get in here.
I have a serious problem. It might not be ground breaking but it is causing me a lot of bother.

It is about my eyebrows and eye pencils . Hey it is not funny.  Am I the only one suffering Alopecia from using eye pencils. 

 Like literally when I apply them, it is as if I have used very cheap crayon. It fades out my brows and thins them out immediately.  Am I making sense? It leaves a funny smear instead of properly shading them as expected.

My initial thought was I must have been imagining it but today I noticed an entire patch had eroded from my left brow.  This is despite me using all the available means to grow them including dark Castor oil, onion oil and some grow thing from Amazon. I’m freaked out and I feel the need to speak up and call manufacturers out.

I strongly believe it has everything to do with the low quality stuff they are using these days. They are probably thinking: They (women) shave them off and draw on it so why bother; might as well use the lowest quality, low cost and maximum profit.

Another reason I feel manufacturers are hood winking us is, not all the eye pencils have the same drastic effect on my brows. The older stocks of any brands from Davies through to Sleek are not damaging. It’s the newer stock in the market that these Chinese people have invaded.

Please am I the only one suffering this problem? What other quality “affordable” brands  are people using? Please let me know your experience so I know what I am doing wrong.

WOMEN ARE THE BACKBONE OF EVERY SOCIETY
We are quick to call them the weaker vessels but experience has shown that women are stronger than men. As men, we play the macho and pretend to be stronger! Who bleeds for days and do not die? Woman! Who turns the N200, 000 you gave her to start a business into millions? Woman! 

Who carried you in her stomach for nine months? Woman! Who regularly gives you pleasure in the ‘other room’? Woman! Who stood by you when you had only a trouser, two shirts and a dream? Woman! Who carried your children and raised them into leaders and presidents? Woman! 


Truth is, a society without (good) women is doomed. I think the time has come for us to make our society a society of good women and then see how fast we will become developed as a nation. 

It is time for us as a people to treat our women better. They deserve to be loved and cared for. These days, a lot of men are becoming weak and irresponsible because the women are demonstrating that they can no longer be relegated to the background. 


Women – ditto the Nigerian woman, is becoming emancipated from the religious, cultural and traditional roles they were profiled for so many years. Increasing number of Nigerian women are soaring high in different fields of human endeavour. Women are top bankers, politicians, pilots, professors, doctors, scientists, researchers, journalists, soldiers, designers, bloggers, soldiers, etc. Nigerian women are making us proud and it is time for us, as men, to begin supporting them. 


Let us not relegate them to the bedroom and the kitchen. Truth be told, their productivity is better utilised outside bedrooms and kitchens.
Ever wondered why there are more widows than widowers in the world? That is nature’s sign to us that women are better managers of the family and society than men. Nature is telling us that by keeping the women behind instead of the men, the children and family and society can continue. 

Most women do not remarry after losing their husbands but a lot of men – some weeks after the demise of their wives – marry another. Why? The man need the woman more than the woman needs the man. The woman is a born manager and a house without a woman is not a home.

This piece is not intended to undermine men but it is a call for men to respect, care for and love women: mothers, sisters, classmates, girlfriends, lovers, wives, colleagues, and daughters. As we celebrate women today, we should put a smile on at least one woman’s face because without them, the world would be a world of war – war instead of jaw – jaw.
