The film which has a moving message is a partnership between Emem Isong Misodi’s Royal Arts Academy and Rise Up’s Champions For Change, an NGO set up to improve reproductive, maternal, newborn, adolescent and child health for women and their families in Sub Saharan Africa. The film was funded by the Ford Foundation.
The event was well attended by several celebrities such as Desmond Elliot, Zik Zulu Okafor, Francis Onwochie, Susan Peters, Juliet Ibrahim, Toyin Abraham (formerly Aimakhu) as well as dignitaries from the corporate world including Mr Innocent Chukwuma from The Ford Foundation,the Executive Director, Silverbird Entertainment, Mr Jonathan Murray Bruce, the Group MD/CEO, Filmhouse Cinemas & FilmOne Distribution/Production Mr Kene Mparu and many more.
The premiere of the much anticipated film 'Zahra' took place at the prestigious Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos on Sunday 26th February 2017.
