Madam stelz you know I love you and all you're doing. Greetings to all BVs. I shld have sent this since but I always wonder if my story is eventful enough but since folder is empty I'll tell it anyway tho it's quite long.
I had a very smooth pregnancy apart frm the morning sickness during my first trimester. I always faked cravings and back aches just so hubby would be on his toes *evil grin*. The only issue I had was heat. Everywhere was always so hot and we didn't have ac in our bedroom then, we had to buy cos I almost moved to the living room.
I learnt how to drive in my 2nd trimester and it was just awesome...I remember bashing someone's car and I came out of my car with my Tommy pushed out to apologise...the man was so embarrassed he started begging me to go back into my car.
My EDD was for 13th of March, I was actually hoping for CS cos I was scared of long hours of labour or having a tear but my doctor insisted that I was young enough to try vaginal birth.
2 weeks to my EDD, on a monday afternoon, I was feeling sick and it was ante natal day so I went to the hospital, doc gave me pain reliever and decided to check me and just like that he said I was 2cm dilated. I was given castor oil to speed up labour (it's the most irritating thing ever) and told to exercise.
I called my husband and my mum and then started praying. I was excited and scared at the same time.
Unfortunately labour didn't progress as expected. My mum rushed down and my husband came after work and was just taking pictures and videos of me writhing in pain, I almost flung his ipad(I'm grateful for those pictures now tho).
A tablet was put in my vagina to ripen my cervix and I was put on drip, the pain intensified but I still didn't dilate at first, it was really annoying having pple poke my vaginal everytime but mehn when real pain came I kept begging them to check it.
By Wednesday night I had to have a c-section after they noticed the baby's heartbeat was strained. I was awake during the procedure. Was given epidural in my spine and i watched my heartbeat on the monitor...felt like a movie scene. The sound of my baby's muffled cry was the sweetest music to my ears.
All I remember after that was I started trembling and blacked out. By the time I woke up the next morning, my handsome 3.7kg mister was doing just fine. I couldn't get up to see him but he was brought to me looking so divine, better than I ever imagined. It's been 4years now and I just look at him and smile...he looks just like his dad but acts just like me...always drawing, very emotional but talkative...
I know I'm rambling already. I pray for everyone that yearns to hold their own child, God will not forget you, He will bless you with beautiful miracles. For preggy mamas, you will bring forth your child in the easiest way possible, have no fear God is in control.
Madam stellz, I've attached a picture of my son at birth for your eyes only. Muah.

ReplyDeleteWow so lovely.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations mama. For everyone else that might be reading this as an expecting mother..this is not appropriate medical intervention. 1) Castor oil has been long disapproved as a way to help labour..it just gives you the mother of all cramps 2) A doctor should not be attempting to induce a mother because she is 2cm dilated at 38 weeks...2cm is not counted as active labour and unless there are other medical reasons it is not a valid reason to induce at 38 weeks. So educate yourself mammas and know when not say NO to unnecessary medical interventions.
ReplyDeleteI think he feared I was down with malaria cos of the symptoms I complained about, maybe that's why I was induced? Thank for the enlightenment on castor oil though, I'll be sure to read up on it... thank God it didn't yield any negative results for me.
