I just wish this money could have been diverted to someone else who urgently needs it.....RIP Mayowa.

    This case caused a lot of controversy. What the family did by refunding is good. It shows accountability and transparency. If they hadn't done this world people will come up with one story to tarnish their image again.
    May the soul of Mayowa continue to RIP.

      Once there is an issue gofundme investigate and if the purpose intended changes then gofundme refunds

      Which family? Go found me handled it themselves . They have policies to protect their integrity. Since the purpose of donating the money is no longer existing, they need to refund. They have no right to channel it to something else.

      What about does of us that paid directly into her account? both the family and Nigerian authorities dealing with this case have refuse to speak. It will be nice if the money can be use for the next person in genuine needs.

    The world can be mysterious! Some of those who donated no need money themselves! Such that the money refund is timely. Some need the refund to be able to help others in need. So they are giving back to themselves using late Mayowa as a conduit. Wonderful!
