THANKSGIVING POST

Hi Stella,
I want you to help me thank God for my family. My Lil sister came to visit me cos I don't stay with my family and as she was going back to our parents place yesterday, I got a call that my sister was involved in a fatal accident.

Stella I almost ran mad...but all glory to God that nothing happened to my sister, she came out alive, not by our power but for his grace, she sat in front with the driver of which the driver died, like 4 other people too died, some with severe injury but to God be the glory my sister survived with just little fracture. Stella God is really Great! Whoever that says there is no God probably haven't seen Gods work in his or her life.
This is the picture of the car...

From bv Olori the makeup artist

God be praised!

FROM SUNDAY CHRONICLES POSTER

Aunty Stella....please permit me to sing:
Alive,Alive,Alive forevermore
My Jesus is alive
Alive forevermore
Sing hallelujah
Shout hallelujah
Christ Jesus,is alive.

I sent in my chronicle on Sunday"Amara the IT girl"and I want to say that Jesus is alive in this blog working through the blog visitors.

I want to say thank you(from a grateful heart),I read BV's comments and I was touched, some required tears, some encouraged and inspired, some gave their honest opinions which I value and some?wanted to help even with their widow's might(your hearts are made of gold).

Thank you so much(I cant begin to call out names, even the anonymous) God bless you all. To the blog visitors that helped(I don't know if I am allowed to mention names, from my name sake to the Angel in New York)May your individual accounts never lack.

I got the sum of N290,000 naira plus 300dollars sent from the abroad(first time receiving money from abroad),I want to laugh but I seem to be crying, its indeed a rare thing to see such goodness packed in a place,Stella may your name remain in God's book of life.

Now,knowing that these money where people's sweat....someone's salary, I need advice.I want to use it wisely because that is the only way I can pay back"by putting the money to good use". I live in a somewhat rural area(for Calabar BV's that know 8miles too well)and the said shop is situated here. I want to start up something immediately and these are my options:

1.STARTING A PROVISION SHOP

I know how to run it too well having lived and sold for owners of such businesses but with the recent economic situation"hike in the prices of commodity especially food stuffs"I don't know if this is a wise idea besides, there are about 4 provision stores close to the shop too(but I believe one can make a difference)

2.START A BAG SHOP

Since I'm a student(don't know if this should be in the present or past tense)and a young woman in her 20's,selling OK handbags might be a good idea"I think"....girls living within the neighborhood are likely to patronise me,besides, only one person deals on this in the whole community and her bags are rather expensive at about 5k or more.
I would basically dive into buying  a bale or two that can be sold for cheaper price in retail, like for 2500??

3.COSMETIC
No one,I mean absolutely no one in the whole of my area is doing this. Provision owners incorporate some cosmetic items to their stocks,so selling exclusively cosmetic products might give me an edge?.

I asked someone yesterday what she would do if she had a little money to Starr up a business she said she would purchase a fridge or two to sale purewater (sighting the profit to be made).
I want to put this money to good use, this is the beginning of my life,a fresh chapter (sorry)book has been opened for me and I don't want to go back.... I want to move forward. Its exciting knowing that for once I am in charge of my life but its terrifying as well.

Anyone with new business ideas would be appreciated. Please drop it in the comment section.
Stella,I can't stop thanking you and the BV's(God will surprise you all).
Lastly,..... If and when school calls...I promise to maintain a GP of 3 point and above.

Before now,(to be truthful)...while I was passing through the storms of life without help....I hardened my heart as I felt people were unkind...in fact life was unkind....

I saw people in a different light....but you might not know it....not only have you saved a soul....

You've changed my mindset toward people.....you've taught me the act of kindness....to extend my hands towards those in need....and when I stand firm....I will teach people what you've taught me.

*Smile*..Someone paid 100k into my account this morning for you Babe .....
God bless and guide you as you invest this money...I Love your smile.

Good day BVN's! Remember my story?I am the Uber guy who went to Cell because of the Account number saga?? Well praise be to God the guy who used my account to collect money has been caught! Although the little info was given on how he was caught, but his girlfriend was used as bait! She's a student of Unilag, she tried denying it, but the CSO of the school gave the policemen the go ahead to trace further and voila! They caught the guy!....

Ladies if your bf or man is spending lavishly please try and find out his source! Don't be blinded by the lifestyle or effizy!... The name of the guy is @segundavinci ... He's a thief and a fraudster! Beware of him or his accomplices .

ELIGIBILITY FOR VOTERS CARD

Hi Stella,

I thought that I should bring this to your notice especially since this is a platform where the relevant authorities can get to hear the issues Nigerians are facing.

A friend mentioned that her account had been frozen and this was due to the fact that she did not have valid ID.

I then proceeded to ask her if she had a voter's card and she said No because upon getting to the biometrics point, her finger prints on one of her hands could not be captured. Note that she has a condition on her one of her hands that causes this.

As a result of that, she could not be registered for a voter's card and this has happened several times.

My question is, shouldn't there be a platform whereby people like this can register and exercise their rights as citizen's of Nigeria?

I want to believe that people without hands or even on hand should be able to vote in a democratic nation if the necessary provisions are put in place.

Secondly, this same friend was told by an FRSC official that she was ineligible for a driver's license because she is a handicap. This is someone that has two functioning hand and legs but a slight deformity on one of her hands.

First she is deprived of voting and now, her movement is being restricted. According to her, if she gets the opportunity to relocate out of Nigeria, she wouldn't blink an eye because there is no provision for people like her in Nigeria.

I would really like if this can be posted on your blog and also that the relevant authorities be notified and copied so that things like this can stop.

I believe there is and can be a better way of handling issues that relate to people who have certain peculiarities.

Thank you.

SUPERMARKET ENCOUNTER

Stella the booest boo.

Something happened last night that got me pissed. And I'm wondering why Nigerian businesses don't treat customers right.

My friend and I went to that supermarket in Lekki (the one that caught fire recently). We went to the cosmetic section. Everything wasn't properly arranged and price tags weren't well placed. I picked up a tube of sunscreen that wasnt priced. I paid my bill at the till (28,890) from one section.

As I was walking out I checked the receipt. The sunscreen was 3500 ish (50ml). My friend reminded me that we saw another one for 1100 (150ml). I told her I wanted to exchange the one I got for the item. It was more economic to get, abi? So I walked back to the cosmetic aisle, picked the 150ml and went to the till for an exchange. Only for the cashier manager to ask me what else I am picking to make up the balance because they don't do refund.

Firstly, I've been shopping with this particular people right from their first store in gbagada. For more than a decade I've been a loyal customer. And within this period I can say I've often had to make exchanges or returns, with valid reason. I used to praise their customer service. To be told this?? I was livid.

Secondly, stella why force customers to buy stuff they don't want? Refunds and exchanges shouldn't be a problem, as long as the goods and receipt are in tact. In this case I hadn't even walked out of the store. And the carrier bag was still sealed, receipt in hand. So wth??!!

Thirdly,  if I got stuff worth 4000 and I wanted a refund on stuff of 3000, I would understand that I'm probably returning more than what I got and they were unhappy. In this case, the refund I was was less than 1/10th of what I paid for. So wetin? Them too dey feel recession?

Stella, you know say my blood hot and 'madness' runs in my 'family' 😂. My friend own worse sef. Ah.... we displayed at the till very well. I told her i need to see the boss who gave that instruction, that I'm not leaving or getting anything i dont need. I was ready to leave everything (the bags were sealed) and I demand my money back. The cashier manager was so rude.

So, one 'lekki big babe' (lololol) was shopping beside us. She now looked at us and said: 'how much is it let me pay?' (Unto we dey make noise for small change). Stella I almost took her to the cleaners, with her giant pimples. I told her straight that i had more than enough money on me. But I'm not gonna be forced to buy what I don't need so she should do her shopping and mind her business.

(Stella imagine this girl oh? !!! Kai... I've suffered).

After plenty English and about 20 minutes, another employee came and asked what was wrong. She did apologize and exchanged it for us. She refunded the money (2400) from her own purse (very nice girl) and said she will sort it out with accounts the next day.

Oh... I was mad. Whoever is in the management that made that silly policy is very inconsiderate. This is so wrong. I don't even blame the cashier manager. These guys used to be very customer-centric. Now e don dey enter their head. Why force people to get what they don't want? Why ban refunds if the goods are still intact and the customer hasn't even left the store?  Don't they sell more than the get returned? Honestly, if not for the lady that refunded yesterday would have been my last day shopping there and I would have gone on twitter and in fact full SM rant. Then they would say my 'change' doesn't even make a difference - very typical!!

As for us Nigerians,  it's high time we demand better customer service. See how that one wanted to pay. Big girl things right? Yea that would have been my attitude few years ago. These people know those that would rather avoid drama and prey on it. They didnt expect that reaction. I'm sure they thought I'd just frown and leave. Mba! I've seen how customers are treated in many parts of the world. These things in Nigeria aren't just right. Even if it's 500 naira you shouldn't be cheated off it or cheat people off it.

Abeg make I drink tea oooh (*side eye* @lovemejeje)

CONFAM Waffy Raking!

To the lady complaining about the supermarket, sometimes some rules are made in supermarket because some customers have abused the privilege. In as musch as you are have been patronizing them for long should have handle it in a better way than shouting atleast you picked the item yourself, changing it is an after thought.

  7. Welcome IHN
Today has been quite traumatic for me
A lady in her early twenties got hit just in front of me by a public transport at 7:40 am today. It was so bad that her body right from her hip got deformed immediately. It was a pitiful sight and I pray she survives it.
A lot of people say she was dead but I don’t think so cos it happened just in front of me and I saw her move albeit slowly. She was later driven away in the same bus that hit her.
It left me crying, Soliloquising and praying for her. I have been shaking all through today. I am indeed traumatised by this.
It could have been me or anyone and this is the best period one needs to reflect on his/her life especially as we begin the Lenten season
    Please pray for her survival.

  33. Hello!!
The lady who needs business ideas, I must have missed your chronicles but I'm really happy for you! I think it depends on your environment (school-aged since you indicated you are a student) there are lots of business opportunities for you here, but the most important thing to me your target audience. I don't think you can sell cosmetics in a place where people don't value them or rather, where people don't understand the usefulness. Evaluate your 4P's properly - Product, Price, Promotion and Place. Look at these four factors, you definitely won't be able to sell a product of 5k and about in a place that's predominant with low income earners OR you not knowing how to package properly...

.... I would have loved to go on and on about this (I'm no business acumen) but I have something to do now!! Again, hello everyone!

I'll suggest you start a bag biz, you can even open an IG account for it, add cosmetics to it watch it boom. I pray that this will be the start of a biz empire for you.
Oga Uber your story taught me an important lesson. Thank God he was caught (side eyes to our policemen, they tried).
The supermarket saga it is quite unfortunate. I've had cause to buy, take home and then return the item when I found out the person I sent got the wrong item for me and I didn't realize until I got home after work and saw it and when I returned it, it was collected and the difference in money given to me (I didn't tamper with the item in any way) and that is the way it should be. How else do you build your customer base? There should be returns and refunds given a window of time and provided the items were returned the way it was collected. They better sit up and yes go and rant small on social media it helps to keep them on their toes.

I'm waiting 4 a robust reply from Xp to sunshine, d drama go sweet. Eranko is what she dropped and I saw reply with Elede, what I can't vouch 4 is who is who in the comment section.

Anyone that knows and follows EmJay's comments closely would know that she dropped this comment in this morning's SP. "Your head is correct" is her frequently used line.

It's a control system put in place to put a check of their sales activities. That is why when you look at some receipts it will tell you no refund of money after payment

  92. Your sister was in that car and she came out with just a fracture???Mehnn, this GOD!!

...but then we ask, well, I ask. What about those who lost their lives? Did God not love them enough? Did God not love my sister enough after she basically served him with everything she had that sometimes my brother and I would laugh at her calling her sister "spiri spiri"!
Was God sleeping when she went into a coma for a year and is still recovering after 5 years??She can't work again, not sure she can have kids again, bla bla. Who am I question him? But I think about this all the time. I think about how beautiful she is, that her life has just come to a stop. Just surgeries, physiotherapy, dear Lord! You are too mysterious and my mind cannot comprehend it.
My beautiful sister, too beautiful! Spoke Japanese, qualified accountant, worked for a bank in a senior level back home, about to get married, had just come back from Kenya on a business trip and we were joking about her encounter with Kenyans. Few days later, I get a call. Thanks to the mortuary attendant who decided not to shove my sister into the freezer and his instinct told him to go press her ribs when they brought the dead to the mortuary! My sister would have died in the freezer. One week life support machine and a year of sleep. Those were some tough times, especially when she came out of a coma and asked which year we were. She shot through the car roof and hit the hard road on her way to work after a head on collision with a speeding truck. When we used to feed her via her tummy. Good Lord! God bless my mummy who sacrificed her career to take care of her. She's getting there but the road to recovery has been hard.
Now, my mum has set up an NGO to support and create awareness for accident victims who are recovering.

Excuse the rant, it hits me each time I see an accident scene. Sorry!
