Service Year Boulevard 86

This story sweet eeeenh!!!

Madam Stella, I raise Beyonce hand for the good work you are doing. I feel its time for me to share my service year brouhaha. Please hide my identity. Its quite long, I hope you find it interesting.

Graduation

I graduated from school October 2014 and was dissapointed when I was told I had to wait a whole year before I could be mobilized. Well, I had no option, I had to wait. I nearly died. Same house, same vicinitz, same school. From Nursery down to tertiary institution in the same school within the same environment.

As much as I hated the vicinity I didn't want to be far from home because I wanted to patch things up with my ex boyfriend. So I tried working my posting to Abuja at worst it should be Lagos. I had people working it for me or so I thought. So I relaxed

Camp Experience.

The day posting came out, I was calm because I was so sure it was Abuja, I went to check out the PPA it would be worked to. I bade them farewell, that I'll see them immediately after camp. My friends started calling me. Nobody was posted where thez wanted. But I had small confidence. By the time I checked mine, I nearly died and went to heaven.

AKS!!

How would they post me to Akwa Ibom. I have never been to the east not to talk of South-South before.

I cried mz eyes out. Told my parents, my mom joined me in crying. But my dad said 'its the will of God.' I left for Nsit-Atai on tuesday morning. Thinking it was at most 10hrs journey. But it was a journey till forever. I got to Uyo at 12:30. My parents had nearly killed me with calls 'bole de?' 'E ti de ni?'I had to stay at a Family friends for the night.

I got to Nsit-Atai on Wednesday morning, with swollen gums as my wisdom tooth was growing (cover eyes) and enough provision to last 6months (was not a foodie then). Went through then whole registration routine quickly and was done before 4pm. Secured a bedspace when those soilders entered and started shouting move to the parade ground. Being endowed both in front and behind, I forgot to wear my sports bra and spandex tight that would hold everything firm. So everything was jiggling.

On getting to d parade ground the soldier said 'you!'I turned to check who it was. 'You...my colour' she completed walking up to me and dragging me out to the front of my platoon.
'So you think you can come to camp and seduce boys with your big bobby abi?' she shouted.

The ground should have opened and swallowed me at that moment. Thank God am dark skinned and dark people don't blush. I soon became popular because of my huge assests. I had awesome roommates as they were all dying for my figure.

As flattering as it was, my khaki looked like parachute that was being held with a rope. I had so many 'fans' (toasters).

Participated in volleyball but couldn't play because I was sick. There was this particular boy I was into, whom I realized only wanted to gbensh. I was trying to stay faithful to the ex but it didn't work out. We dissolved everything before the end of camp.

The Experience
The day of posting fast approached, after collecting my posting letter. I thought the person working it for me would take me to Uyo. But I died and came back when I saw Secondary Grammar School Ibeno.

The boy I was crushing on hoping that we'll be posted to Uyo town was consoling me. He told me there and then that he loved me and would want us to start something together. I didn't tell him no, or yes either. The side of Ibeno I was posted to was so bush, I cried all through that day and the next. I gathered myself and made the principal reject me.

I don't know how I did it (my course was really needed).

I tipped the then CLO 2k and had me posted to the Local Government secretariat. I'll come for CDS and dissapear to Uyo to go find my crush. We didn't gbensh because I was trying to be celibate. I left the underdeveloped part of Ibeno to the most developed that had electricity. But I paid handsomely to have a 'toilet' in my room. But 90% of the time I was there it wasn't working. So if I wanna 'shit' and its 2am, I'll take bike #50 to go 'shit' in church. I worked as the secretary to the Secretary of the Local Government Chairman.

Through that office, I met a lot of 'who was who' in Ibeno. Since I work only on mondays, I started part time teaching in 2 schools and lessons. Then after the crush said he's no longer interested, I started participating actively in church. So I thought I was busy. Till the day I was almost raped in my house by a so called 'minister' who said its ok to gbensh cos Mary didn't marry Jesus (story for another day).

I then decided to perfect my tailoring and enrolled in a school. That was when my boss saw me on makeup with all my assets in my dress. Then he realized that after all these while he thought I was a 'born again corper' (I wore ugly and ill fitted clothes to work to avoid plenty toasting).

He became my #1 fan. Work started making us travel, but a friend said it wasn't in my jurisdiction to travel especially as m not being paid by the Local Government. I received sense and stopped going with him. I chop his money ehn, during my birthday he gave me twice my allowance to celebrate my day with friends. I told him I was on my period. Its 14days *Shines teeth*.

He gave me half again I said till I meet d Governor of the state. He made me meet him, because Ibeno is one of the major oil producing area in the state. They heard about the amazing corper who could draft wonderful letters within minutes.

By then I had started dating this boy I had crush on years ago that asked me to wait for him. I was head over heels in love that I flaunted him anyhow. *am a sucker for love, don't blame me.* He came to visit once and we had so much fun. A lot of corps members that liked me thought I was above their league, because I found a divorcee older than me with 22 Years that wanted to marry me. So he gave me one of his car to be cruising around.

At the same time covering the cost of fuel, repairs and still give me pocket money. He said he wasn't after sex, and true to his word he just liked me. I started liking him after service year tho but he was already serious with someone.

One of the houses I taught lesson, the man also toasted me. Increased my pay X2 but I was already attracted to his super cute kids. Towards the end of service year was when my family decided to visit but they realized it was quite a distance.

My dad tried visiting but he had to cut the journey and I went to meet him. He gave me plenty money!

I was offered job severally but I turned it down cos I have to gbensh them. I and 'divorcee' were not on good terms because he said I was exploiting him. Towards end of service year, my boss became my friend because his wife caught him cheating and I helped him out, as his job was in jeopardy. I left Ibeno two days after service down to Lagos.

Did I enjoy service year? Yes! I did. That is because I have been a daddy's girl all my life. I realized am like lipton, 'till its in hot water before you realize its full potential.' Am independent now. Above all, I found that love of my life was just beside me all these years.

Am I still friends with my boss? No, though he calls occassionally to check if I'v changed my mind so I can send nude pics and he'll send me transport to come and gbensh.

Was I tempted to gbensh Ibeno boys to taste what they're like? Yes I was, but after the almost rape incident with the 'minister' I realized it wasn't worth it.

Should NYSC be scrapped? No! Because one can realize their full potential if they do the right thing. It was after service year, I realized I had a lot of Nicknames like 'Corper big yansh, Corper big 'bress', corper Mary etc.' I still have friends whom still keep in touch.
Big shout out to all ex and serving corps members that served at AKS. Especially Ibeno, they understand the hustle.

Love you loads Stella of life!!!

Kisses

  8. "I went to meet him and he gave me plenty money"? Serious? Nigerians graduates now speak pidgin as English?

Well, I think you exaggerated this your back and front. You should have sent a picture; yes, without your face to prove it. How about character; are you endowed there too? Because that's the main thing!

Your experience with "that minister" will make a "best seller".
