ReplyDeleteGood morning lovelies. I've embarked on a road trip this cool Saturday morning across some West coast towns, in Badagry town ext already and sorting one or two articles. Crossing over in 5minutes to do some serious shopping, need me a stuffed bag of honey beans mehnn. Those condiments from Cotonou especially the green native pepper for egg sauce, the other 5 varieties of pepper. Some sweet fruits and lots of quality spices because the Maggi and Knorr in Nigeria are different from those in the supermarkets in Port Novo, Cotonou and even some locations in Cocotomey. Same as beverages, theirs have quality. Got food items to stock up for the year, by Sunday afternoon a friend, a personnel will cross them over to Eko for me. I no fit shout.

I just got around to reading Monday's chronicle and I'm livid! If you've ever had a child especially if its your first, you know how stressful it is, then a grown ass woman would come and expect to be waited on hands and foot. Rubbish! Dear poster, I understand your pain, sorry.
ReplyDeleteAll the people telling you you have a sense of entitlement should also tell your mother in-law not to feel entitled to meals. Let's leave your husband out of the picture cos thinking about his own inability to be objective about the issue would just weigh you down. Post partum depression is real. My dear, for your mental health, ignore them. I would not even advice you to seat her down and explain things to her because she'll end up taking things out of context and all you get for your trouble is apologies. And I mean you apologizing to her about things you said. My MIL is similar to yours and we stay with my in-laws, just imagine the stress. By the time I had my second, I just assumed she did not exist, I did things when I could get around to doing it, no more room service that I used to do for her. In all of this though, wisdom is needed. Let go of all the anger and frustration and your path of action would be clear to you.
