SOWORE- SAHARA REPORTERS PUBLISHER |
Obanikoro had accused Sahara Reporters of libel, after they alleged he rigged the election that produced Ayodele Fayose as Ekiti State Governor.
He claimed that the report harmed his reputation in Nigeria and outside the country.
The charge was struck out, after Sowore asked the court to dismiss it based on affidavits and exhibits.
Sowore’s request was granted on the grounds of non conveniens.
“Accordingly, it is ordered that the motion to dismiss this complaint on the ground that New York is an inconvenient forum is granted and the complaint is dismissed with costs and disbursements to defendants upon submission of an appropriate bill of costs.
“Upon the foregoing papers, it is ordered that this motion is granted in accordance with the attached memorandum decision and order. This is the decision and order of the court”, the Judge, Debra James, ruled.

ReplyDeleteVery good! Keep doing what you do best Omoleye.
ReplyDeleteYou see. Not everything is propaganda because it's against the person or party you support. Even the U.S courts know Obanikoro smells like shit.
ReplyDeleteTake the word of a politician at your own peril. They are all after their own interests. Whether you support one party or the other, 9 times out of 10, you'll still be the loser
Thank You
DeleteNon conveniens simply means the court feels there is a more qualified court to hear the case...he can refile it .

ReplyDeleteThis is a big victory for sowore. Supreme Court means highest court in New York plus lawyer fees equals thorough thrashing. The process didn't even cost him a dime.
