The Prices of essential commodities has been slowly rising since last year 2016 and at the rate it is going, the average Nigerian won't be able to afford bread, fish, oil, meat, yam and other essential commodities by the end of 2017 if nothing is done!
As inflation rate rose for the 15th consecutive month to 18.72 per cent last month, commodities are becoming increasingly un-affordable for some Nigerians..
Take home pay i hear,no longer takes anyone home.....
Whats the situation with the state you are in?
God save Nigeria!
The thing tire me o
ReplyDeleteThis one don pass allegedly. Its no longer funny. Things are very expensive. I just asked the woman in front of my house if there is anything she sells for 5naira in her shop and her reply was no. Every thing is extra expensive.
DeleteThis is so true, I had to close my provision shop cause of this, everything has gone up, will carry 100k to market and things you'll buy will not occupy half the space in the shop...I can't give myself heart attack from too much thinking..had to close up shop ooo..God has been faithful..
DeleteMrs Frank
We should start farming to get basic food stuff.
ReplyDeleteTrue talk Blackberry.
DeleteEven if it's to get those flower pots, buy seeds then plant; especially vegetables. My friend did this after she paid me a visit and saw lots of ridges. She was shocked to see many kinds of vegetables, plantain, corn, yam et al. She lamented on not having space and I suggested flower pots.
Although not everyone can farm because of space or some other reason.
E go better.
Everywhere is really hard oo. It is only God that is helping us to survive this APC wahalas.
ReplyDeleteI pity those that dont do anything or get jobs, i wonder how they cope. It is a painful thing ooo, if i had much money would have given to lots of people.
May God help us all
We are calling on God to come to our rescue.
ReplyDeleteThings have gotten so bad.
Garri is now so expensive.
Meat too.
There's hardly light so it's mostly gen if you buy 1k fuel for gen it won't even last 3 hours.
I honestly do not know where we are going.
If food was cheap, life would not be this hard.
Stella I said I was going to send a mail as regards this topic, food stuff is too expensive now, derica of rice is close to 500 naira, palm oil bottle is now 600 naira,Maggi know is 20 naira, just name it......One cannot eat with 200 naira and be food satisfied, things are pretty bad, don't let us deceive ourselves.Only God can help this nation.
DeleteThe demon we call president is there in the abroad calling Trump. I don't blame him.. the idiota daughter married a billionaire so he can't understand what the averageneral Nigerian is passing thru

ReplyDeleteI'm tired already. My transportation allowance hasn't increased, Staff bus not yet fixed, another estimate of over 2M was sent to my office last week.
No more staff bus for my route because the company doesn't have so much money at the moment for repairs.

Sand people too has increased their prize cuz of diesel and high cost of spare parts.

AMBER
@Queen, you know this about Poultry feed.
DeleteThe way the price went up is alarming.
Imagine having over 500 birds to feed...
It's well is all I can say.
God save us. I wonder what we gonna do
ReplyDeleteYes, the recession is something else... It's so bad that Dangote sugar is now #140 as against #50! Anyways, sugar bring about diabetes so, that's by the way... I can't even bring myself to buy groundnut oil cos the price is just so outrageous. I think the price of beef is still on the low, the last time I bought (last three weeks?), I got a big chunk for #400 and those ones who sell food didn't increase the price of beef to #100 as against #50.
ReplyDeleteEhn Ehn, let me not forget Golden Penny Spaghetti.. That shii is gold now oo
E nor easy eh. When you take 20k to the market these days, everything you buy can fit into your handbag. It's that bad Stella.
DeleteWe Need Revolution Now.
Rocky that your meat customer love you.
Delete*leastening toe lyf is eazi by mr eazi*
ReplyDeleteI wudnt know as I'm not in nigeria
ReplyDeletethe way things have increased ehn.... it's so alarming! the only thing reasonably priced d market now is fresh tomatoes and fresh pepper. I went to d market to get rice. mama gold that I bought at 19500 in December is now 23000. Palm oil nko? I don't even buy large quantities now. I just manage to buy d small Eva bottle for 800. even toothpaste is now double d price. Yet workers' salaries are being slashed. It's only God that will keep us alive o
ReplyDeleteprice of palm oil has fallen here in east oh. 400 will get you that small Eva bottle.
DeleteNow how's that cheap?
DeleteI keep feeding better cos God dey,can never beg bread this year...Amen
ReplyDeleteShut up fool. Kingdom economy ko! Even if u r feeding better how about your neighbors. U don't mind provided u r feeding. It will soon get to u don't worry.
DeleteArtful dodger..make the word of God the standard of your life.God is the sole provider,if you complain here frm now till infinity ,it changes nothing.
DeleteI guess you don't read to comprehend!Zuzurugi si eba puo.Idiat
Horrible. This government is evil
ReplyDeleteNope! Nigerians are just poor and wretched or maybe just simply stingy to themselves. Everybody shouting recession but if it's time to play MMM now, u will see them bringing out thousands of naira
DeleteMy dear it is no longer funny o
ReplyDeleteYou can't even bargain prices again or else you want the traders to cuss you and your generation as if you are buhari's relative ..
It shall be well
That's how I sent my girl to the market 2 days ago I think
ReplyDeleteAnd she said the frozen fish we usually buy between 350 and 400 is now 1200 for one. I gave her money to buy 3 but when she called me and said 1 was the price for 3,i asked her to buy meat please. It's not that serious. Imagine buying 3 fish at 1200 each just to make spaghetti. Nah, I couldn't do it. It wasn't even all those exotic fish. It's Titus fish o. I can't pay 1200 for that fish. My guest even suggested another fish which was gote and they said same price. I was like oh please buy meat with the money
The only fish I can pay that much and more for is tilipia and croaker..
The pricr of other things is worrisome. Even the price of pizza has gone up.
Ehn, Titus fish is now #1200 for one?? That's really bad!!
DeleteAunty you can lie o! 1 Titus fish for 1200? Its not that bad yet. Its a kilo of Titus that sells for 1200 which in itself is crazy! Which way naija?
DeleteMadam sofry lie na. Even on the Island, the biggest titus is not 1200
DeleteFab mum I think your girl got confused. Kilo of Titus now is 1200 now or so. She didn't understand what they told her
DeletePlease read well, she said 3 fish for 1200 which is equivalent to a kilo
Delete@let's talk, you should be the one to read well.
DeleteFab mum, your girl didn't understand them or something.
Depends on your location a sizeable Titus fish is about 350 to 400, e never reach 1k plus
DeleteI buy 1kilo of Titus for 1k here in abj .
DeleteThe way prices of things dey go up so huh,na only Baba God go help us....
ReplyDeleteThis Baba corruption government na evil...if u buy 5k foodstuffs u kwn go see am....the funniest thing is that, the price u buy today wil not be the same price following week..money don add on top...
I remembered when I just came to serve then in late 2015, kerosene per litre was #150, later the price get leg to walk, later e get wings to fly, now e don get juju and e don dissappear go #500, I jejely go buy gas, 3 kg filling of 1200 sustains me for one month and half where I would have been using 1 litre of kerosene for 4 days, God knows I for don migrate go firewood by now if say I no buy that gas that time ni.
ReplyDeleteThe last time I bought kerosene,a litre was 700.
DeleteNa God go help us o.
3kg has risen abi dissapeared from 1100 we used to fill to 1800#, this country is just laughable
DeleteYes,it is too alarming, sometimes I laugh in the market when am been told the prices of goods.
ReplyDeleteAll goods I sell keep on increasing everyday, even we you think you are making profit you are just deceiving yourself abi when you buy something for #4000 and you sell at #4500 you wan buy again na #4700 you buy WC kind business be that that's why I always verify from my customers almost everyday to know how things dey go before I sell everything for gbanjo
ReplyDeleteThe one wen pain me pass for this @Sadbaba times now Palm oil wen don too cost.. .Even fish sef don cost
ReplyDeleteEveryday if I go market. ..na so I dey swear for @Sadbaba... Abeg tell me how he go stand up for that sick bed faa?
@Galore
Palm oil is crazy, 700 for a small bottle. Garri is now 800 for a paint bucket. There is God o!
DeleteOh and I forgot the price of diesel.
ReplyDeleteThis one is evenorw annoying
Diesels from 86/100 Naira is now 260/270 per litre
That's like an bad o
100 litres can't even last 5 days and it's not like it's on all day o
Na WA
Na real wa
Diesel own na another day matter.
DeleteThank God we have constant light. At least 23hrs a day. So we use gen on rare occasions. Inverter dey to back up
We bought last when it was 140 and our 500l tank is full and we still have 100l
Things are so expensive now
ReplyDeleteFish na rich man food na
Me that buy different types of fishes before but now its so expensive ,I just buy tilapia and croaker bcos my boyfriend must eat fish
The bad thing is no light to freeze the food, its not about the present govt its about the looting of the many years by previous administrators
God help us oo
I know God will judge all the looters of this nation
Tiwa
Amen. You get sense.
DeleteGod bless you @Tiwa.
DeleteYou are very correct.
Not to talk of provisions, i just pity mothers with 3,4 kids with d rate of food in d market, Lord have mercy!
ReplyDeleteStella I said I was going to send a mail as regards this topic, food stuff is too expensive now, derica of rice is close to 500 naira, palm oil bottle is now 600 naira,Maggi know is 20 naira, just name it......One cannot eat with 200 naira and be food satisfied, things are pretty bad, don't let us deceive ourselves.Only God can help this nation.

DeleteStella it's very bad here in warri oh d only tin dat is still OK is transportation.imagine 123 peak milk dat i was buying refill for 800 now it's 1400.God help us oh
ReplyDeleteI don't bother anymore , I just give regular peak . My health visitors in the uk told me toddler milk is not necessary ,really just a marketing strategy , they can have regular full cream milk like the rest of the family .
DeleteI was told 1800, I just stuck with regular peak too and wooed my toddler to ask for tea rather than mil-K! Now tea is our favourite. Seriously, this administration need to do so thing fast or give us a road map to redemption. If we go fast, make we know how many days na. Abi? And to all the looters, your room 4 hell dey charge. Shebi u Don turn God toh your mate, you dey steal money wey suppose sustain the lives of others. Judgement is near.
DeleteNa we! student dey suffer pass. I dnt want to go into much details cos if I start, I might not finish today. only God can save us
ReplyDeleteI don't even want to think of the prices cos I can't go and kill my self with high BP over Nigeria issue.I am just grateful to God for provision & good health.May Fod see us through this storm

ReplyDeleteGod will help us... I went to buy always sanitary pad last week...
ReplyDeleteGave the woman N500.00 and the woman gave me N50.00 as balance..
I smiled to the woman, showed her my hand that it is Always pad I bought and nothing more. I did this because I bought always pad last two months at the rate of N250 each. The woman shouted, Aunty, that is the price now.. What?. I dropped the pad, collected my money and entered bike N50.00 to another shop, same price of N450.00 I was so pained. What? always Pad N450.00 for what?. Maybe this sanitary pad issue pained me so much because I am TTC. The sight of monthly cycle makes me moody.
It is well dear
DeleteHold on
God will visit you
@Galore
God will visit you soon
DeleteLong live SDK
So because of 450 that's why u will not allow us to hear word. Oya use tissue Na
DeleteA paint of garri is now N650 while the bag is N12,000.. Chai, Nigerians are really suffering Stella, imagine when a mother of four kids wanna cook rice and a derica of rice goes for N300/N350 per tin... Things are expensive... This is FAMINE!!!... I pity our staff being paid N12k or N15k monthly, what will that solve??? It is well with our soul...
ReplyDeleteThe annoying thing is that it's only on social media we can complain. We grumble from morning to night still enter the market buy the things come back. Isn't it about time we do something? What is all this?
ReplyDeleteBetter go and put your house in order, you shouldn't have granted that interview in the first place. You have indirectly exposed your self get sense biko
ReplyDeleteLol. ..@chibok girl don mix post oo

ReplyDeleteStellacious Stella!it is more than alarming oooo, everything in the market has skyrocket. A diaper that goes for 2400 is now 3800 0r 4,000. Baby milk that sold for 900, is now 1300 0r 1500. Johnson baby US soap that goes for 350 is now 700 or 800.Not to come talk of food stuff, that one na no go area. The situation is not funny at all. Is only God that we help and deliver us from Buhariacession......
Just yesterday I bought cement for 2400 only 2 be informed 2day that it's 2900 and some fish brain keep saying this government is working?she cement is imported too abi we no dey make our own cement?
ReplyDelete@cement, what of the cost of spare parts of the machines? The cost of salary they pay the expatriates, which is in foreign currency? The cost of diesel for running the machines? The cost of transporting it to the various parts of the country? And so many other costs unknown to you and I. Babes, let's just pray ok? All will be well.
DeleteAnon God punish u for that nonsense calculations expatriate my foot & tickling bumbum what happened to our graduates, Nigeria has cheapest labour in the whole world.
DeleteMy dear people, times are tough o .Only the tough will survive.Going to market weekly gives me headache but I am coping, light is fairly steady at my end so i can buy in bulk.peak refill is 800naira,12.5kg gas is 4800,i have stopped buying cornflakes because it suddenly went up to 600.Palm oil is 500 now and i intend to buy a gallon and keep.semo is now a no go area.I now ration milk for my kids and do without.Stella we are in trouble. It's not easy at all.Even ribena is sold for 900per pack now.
ReplyDeleteFoodstuffs are very expensive we are just surviving by the grace of God, even when things were cheap no money to buy talk more of now. They should kill us all because we are tired of starving in this country even the garri I drink while hoping for a better tomorrow is now very expensive. God deliver your children from Pharoah.
ReplyDeleteLong live SDK
I travelled like a week ago to buy bibles for my bookshop, see the way I was screaming. So they don't want people to read bible again nee. .. I just remember the Indian movie 3 idiots. .. and am telling myself "all is well" Everybody say it to yourself and to this nation.
ReplyDeleteStella, "allegedly"? Is someone being accused? Stopeet!
ReplyDeleteGood. All those potbellied naija babes go lean quick.
ReplyDeleteNo matter how expensive things get,we will all survive it,Just cut our coats a little to adapt,it will only be for a while.there are other cheaper and better pads in the market,I stopped using always pad cause of its reaction on my skin, its quality also dropped while price increased I now use pads of 250 and I am fine with it.
ReplyDeleteAbeg wats d name of d pad biko.
DeleteAngel pad is #250. That what I'm using now
DeleteAlways gives reaction I don't know why people still use it.
DeleteI use Dr Brown
I stopped using always over 2yrs ago as the price high their products quality is rubbish.
DeleteEven this new pad i use is #400 , so its not just always o.
DeleteThe matter tire me o! i knew it was bad but it became so obvious 2 sundays ago when i stopped at Ebanor to buy raid and decided to pick 3 more items, i reach counter i hear N5,300? i was beyond shocked. my heart broke for people that earn minimum wage and i couldn't help but wonder where d country is going.
ReplyDeleteStella it is so sad. Things are very costly and we that were managing before are starving now. The smallest Shawa fish is now 250 per one in my area. Before I use to pluck vegetable in my surroundings and cook with the fish and buy fufu two for #50 from my neighbour to eat it. Now, they have build house in every open space, no vegetable again and coupled with this children, we drink garri most times and eat bread with water. If I have up to N1000, I normally make pap and that will be our food for morning and night, only afternoon we will look for something else to eat. I pray God remember this country very soon before we will starve to dead.
ReplyDeleteAre sugar daddies still paying or is recession affecting their generosity as well?
ReplyDelete😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
DeleteSome dy pay ooo
DeleteThe blood of one human is very dear to GOD. What Nigeria is passing through today is NOT PHYSICAL. since about 1964 till 2017,the blood of innocent people is bing shed, directly and indirectly by politicians, militias, amy, police, robber, the genocides that has and is still taking place, etc. This people's blood is constantly CRYING OUT before GOD for vengeance.
ReplyDeleteSOLUTION : We must realise our mistakes, go to God for forgiveness as a nation, agree on how we as a ntion should live in peace , this is the foundation .with this foundation Nigeria will go places.
.this is ME trying to make spiritual sense.
Nigeria can't get better if we continue to be 1 country cos we hate ourselves. We should divide this sham called Nigeria. We r not & cannot be 1. The blood of biafran War victims are crying for justice & craving for disintegration cos that's why dy died u don't expect pple that kill themselves to be 1 house / country. Is not possible. Nigeria must disintegrate for proper development else this is just the beginning of hunger ooo
