Dear Stella if by the end of this administration Rivers State is still intact then indeed God is with us ....
Since last year we have been complaining about this black sooth but now , we are China .yet we don't know what or where this is coming form. from attached pictures, this is what our sky and home look like

It's terrible. I don't open windows yet, my floors are always black like charcoal at the end of The day. My kids have had unending running nose since last year. May God help us.
DeleteThis is very dangerous and I feel very sorry for the people living in PH at the moment. May God come through for you all.

This can destroy the respiratory system oo
God save this nation
Tiwa
Most definitely. Dem talk say to burn scented candles sef de carcinogenic, not to talk of direct crude oil by products in the air, unless I'm wrong, but what else could it be?? And there is a supposed governor in that state, where is FEPA?
DeleteGood God!
ReplyDeleteWtf?!!!!
#WhiteDiamondOut
Stella this is real o,I was cleaning my baby's nose today you won't believe the quantity of black substance that I removed. I fear o,some people are saying its caused by oil bunkers but I strongly doubt it more like industrial pollution. God help us o
ReplyDeleteNa wa oooo
DeleteNa real wah!!!! Waaaaaaat
DeleteCleaning your own nose is problem, something that is supposed to be white is black as tar, d sky is always black as if it wants to rain
DeleteWhich side in portharcourt
ReplyDeleteWoji
DeleteIt's everywhere in Port Harcourt. I stay in Woji, every morning as I wake up I have to wash my hands and face, clean my nose first before morning devotion else I will be on sneeze-mode the whole day.
DeleteI literally mop the floor of my house every hour.
I just discovered today, my night gown color has turned dark. The beddings nko? I wash them every 2days now.
I honestly don't understand what is happening and no one is coming up with an explanation as to why there's black substance everywhere.
God help us.

Evrywhere doh more serious around agip, trans amadi, rumuigbo nd odas
DeleteNo be small thing ooh.
ReplyDeleteThey should do something about it, can't be mopping the house everyday na.
It's very serious, you clean and clean and clean n still same. Nobody has said anything bout it.
ReplyDeleteYou should be more concerned about your lungs than the floor. I can't believe you are all so calm. ThEse are lives at risk o. The silence of the government is pitiful
DeleteI just saw a very pathetic one with a woman trying to clean off the sooth from her baby'nest. Its really bad and I believe it will be intensely dangerous. These companies just do things they can't try in their countries; anyways what do I know, is there no governor in the state?
ReplyDeleteI am sorry my comment is not related to the post. I am just coming from instablognaija and there was this video of soldiers flogging a cripple jus because he had on camo. Ahhh!!! Stella, this messed my dsy.
ReplyDeleteCrying as I type this. Why are Nigerians this wicked? As if the guy hasn't had enough by being a cripple.
Read somewhere that he has been warned severally not to put the camo on again.
DeleteAnd so? Did they provide him alternative clothing ? You are just heartless
DeleteIt's really very very messy.....i clean my house almost everyday now....the clothes in my shop has changed colours....don't even think of washing and spreading outside cos it will come back dirtier.....i don't even want to talk about food stuffs here sef....my nose has been running for over 3weeks now.....infact na God hand we dey.
ReplyDeleteThis is sad. And what is the govt doing about it.
DeleteThis is terrible, but what is the governor doing about at least they collect tax from those companies polluting the environment. Wo oro ilu oye olorun.
Deletecome out and protest .... Nah God hand we dey indeed!😂
DeleteIt's not over until it is over .
Na God hand una dey ba? Continue. You people should keep waiting for God to come down and save you. Don't go and give those companies causing this your wrath until you get respiratory cancer.
DeleteThis is so true, my child had cough and catarrh for over 2 weeks last December, we took 2 sets of drugs then switched over to lemon juice, bitter Kola, ginger and honey, now the cough is back with thick yellow catarrh. There's black dust everywhere, my windows are now permanently closed yet the floor of my house still stains ones feet and we mop twice a week o.
ReplyDeleteSomething should really be done about this before we start having worse illness.
I heard its because of leisure activities(illegal refining of crude oil)
U guys should better come out in mass and protest against such companies
DeleteMy sister, I have been on antibiotics since with my daughter, cos of the body pains, fever, cough, soar throat, carttar, running eyes and nose we have been surffering and to add to it I being ashmatic, I thought I was going to die 2days again but God saved me. Taking drugs which isn't save on the long run but cos I have no choice. We sleep with doors and windows closed still it gets in.imagine the heat no ventilation coming in or going out, My daughter's sch no longer let them play outside imagine that? And to think this has been on for more than 6months now. @ times like this we miss formal Governor Rotimi Ameachi. He would have done something fast since then. God help us.
ReplyDeleteMy dear, I miss Fmr Gov Amaechi. By now, he would have done something about it. Come to think that this has been going on for more than 6 months. Please ph people, use nose mask in the interim until gov Wike finds solution. Nose mask is cheaper than cancer treatment.
DeleteNow you guys are missing Amaechi? But when he wanted to put his person there you people chose Wike...Madam STELLA why is commenting on your blog so difficult? Always throwing my comments into your soup pot.**side eyes and tongue click**
DeleteWhere's Blackberry and Default Smile? They should come and defend this
ReplyDelete*Larry was here*
Stella pls help us push it to fed level pls. Maybe they push this man to do something before people droping dead. Plssssssssssssss
ReplyDeleteNa Wa oooo
ReplyDeleteAgain?
ReplyDeleteHmmmm
ReplyDeleteCancer Calling....
ReplyDeleteOmg
ReplyDeleteThis is dangerous to health.
Emission . Call the attention of your governor.
ReplyDeleteThe governor is governing from where? Why should his attention be "called"?
DeleteThis is morning mopped the floor twice and yet the water was still black, one would think I hadn't mopped the floor in weeks whereas I mopped the floor 2 days ago. I had to give up.
ReplyDeleteIts worse along odili road, u need to see our verandah, it's like coal dust, children r coughing ehn! U can't spread white outside, it reduced around December, this week it's worse. Before anyone goes down, Wike's family will be first.
ReplyDeleteRubbish.
Indorama and co
DeleteNo wonder you dey always mop floor. Now I understand.
DeleteI experienced the sooth when I was in PH last month. Imagine constantly inhaling such air. May God help those residing in that City.
ReplyDeleteMy dear na so Mumsi dey complain, I no too pay attention till I noticed it myself. Every time I clean my nose see the black sooty. When I'm bathing see how black my tub would be. Then my tiles look black. I don tire to dey clean sef
DeleteHonestly Stella, I woke up this morning it was as if i have dirts in my nose, I went for my handkerchief low and behold my nose is full of black sooth. That was when i observed that my foots are black and to think that i mobbed my house on Saturday and just yesterday again 😩! Haba! Honestly i fear for our health. Cos I know inhaling this can be hazardous to human health. Pls help us get to appropriate authorities. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteIts mopped not mobbed
DeleteNawa ooo! This isnt funny at all😐😑
DeleteHmm, Stella if u can make more noise about this thing God will bless u for us, the situation is terrible for about 5 mnths now, n we've been inhaling this shit.
ReplyDeleteMy kids have had this terrible cough for more than 2 weeks now. Been to the clinic countless number of times, given them all sort of medication, treated malaria, but the cough just won't go away. I'm going to chill in Warri for a while..at least so we can breath fresh air. Stella I'm sending pics of different stuffs in my house now..you'll be shocked..

DeleteYou guys even delayed with the protest. E don tay nau. Make it huge and loud on social media let international NGOS and organisations get involved. Tell friends and family outaide PH to repost and hashtag. When it trends and gets in the news they will seat up. That's the way they were ignoring chibok girls issue until people made noise.
DeleteContribution: Everyone should wear a nose mask for more emphasis on polluted air.
DeleteUpdate: Just got twitter notification. there's already a trending hashtag already- #blacksoot
DeleteOh God. And what is the government doing about it? Wickedness
ReplyDeleteThe same port Harcourt with Governor Wike abi is this Buharis fault too?
ReplyDeleteTh company behind this is Fed.Govt owned now, leased to Indians. So it's still on Buhari an Wike too
DeleteThis is so true! I really pray this does not affect the health of people living in PHC.
ReplyDeleteJust this morning a friend of mine was telling me how the black stuff is everywhere , we had a video call were he showed me under his feet. And previously cleaned surfaces already covered in black film.... WTF?? I'm worried o, people are breathing in this contaminated air. I'm thinking about the long term effects if this accumulates in the system. What can be done to disperse this air contamination? I'll be right back
ReplyDeleteStella thanks for posting this and I hope rivers state government will do something asap about this. You must now clean your house everyday cox if you don't, your leg will turn to charcoal. The air itself is polluted that what we are now breathing in is chemical. God please save us and let the government please come to our rescue. Health they say is wealth.
ReplyDeleteThis is so real,i dont knw what do anymore,i clean my hse almost everyday.i pray dis black sooth will not give us in Ph sickness oh!
ReplyDeleteDear PH city residents, the time has come for us compel the government to fish out the perpetrators and put a stop to this hazard called BLACK SOOTH. We can no longer sit back and ignore this menace. Last year we started a media movement and the black soothe stopped for a while; now it is back and in greater intensity. Lets ask ourselves how long it will take for PH residents to start lining up at hospitals with respiratory infections or perhaps cancer? Enough is enough! The air we breathe is highly polluted, you wake up in the morning and you wipe your nostrils with a white handkerchief and it turns black- what then does your lungs look like or that of your toddler? If you think you can close your windows and run ACs, what about the cost of diesel? This thing is so severe that even when you come in contact with the mosquito nets over your bed you turn black. Ok lets look at your ceramic bath tubs; when you are done showering the black soothe sticks to the tub so that you have to scrub with soap and sponge to get it off. My friends this is what we are breathing in PH city. We don't need a 2Baba to say that cost of living is high what we are facing now is a life threatening situation and the ministry of environment is keeping "shush" about it. I am not a medical doctor or an environmentalist but I know that in no distant time deaths will be recorded as a result of this pollutant. May it not be yours or mine. That is why the time is now to push the Government to do the needful. Only a healthy people make a healthy nation. Share this please we need to make our voices count on this subject.
ReplyDeleteShare what? On social media? Una never ready. Come out physically and complain
DeleteMy in law complained about this pollution, please someone should notify the appropriate quarters
ReplyDeleteDon't mind those government officials saying they don't know where its coming from,of course they do,just that the people involved are either higher than them in power that they can't do Sth or they too are involved in it and have also been bribed to write such. Who doesn't know know that the sooth comes from the bunkering stuffs or the refinery. They are deceiving themselves saying that they dunno, after they will be blaming Buhari when they are also worse than him. Thank God,its not that much on ma end again unlike last year December. May God help us all!
ReplyDeleteThis is a major problem in Ph, our cars are very dirty in the morning, mosquito nets u wash almost every day and not to talk of mopping and spreading ur clothes out. God save us. We don't even know what the ministry of environment or the state government is doing to arrest the situation.
ReplyDeleteThey should find out what that Ogboni governor is doing in Rivers state before he kills everybody. Blood sucker!!!!
ReplyDeleteIn which side I have not noticed this here at rukpoku.....let me check
ReplyDeleteWell it's the illegal refining being carried out by ijaw boys.
ReplyDeleteShebi na their oil.
It's everywhere in ph, it has been on for months now, surprised it's just getting out.
ReplyDeletethe sooth is getting worse by the day. let the Ministry of Environment and Health come to our Aid. we need help.
ReplyDeletePeople living in the state should invest in face masks
ReplyDeleteIt's so much here ooo
ReplyDeleteFrom cleaning the floor, washing bathroom and clean my nose with wipes is all black..is so serious ooo
God help us in PH
Hmmmmmmm pele dear! Just imagining how dangerous it will be to health.
DeleteIt's so much here ooo
ReplyDeleteFrom cleaning the floor, washing bathroom and cleaning my nose with wipes is all black..is so serious ooo
God help us in PH
Chei Lord have mercy on my family o
ReplyDeleteThis is serious. Why is the government silent on this issue?
ReplyDeleteThe governor and Ministry of health should do something about it
ReplyDeleteNa the 'kpofire' activities, I'm sure. It is well with you guys.
ReplyDeleteGod na ur hand we dey
ReplyDeleteIt's black carbon from oil refineries. All them shell, total etc. Get ready for a law suit.una dey refine but not properly. This is not a state problem but a federal one cos the Revenue goes to the Federal government. So I wonder why oil companies are silent.
ReplyDeleteShennel Hyacinth, kindly post info about the rally here when is time, i'm so joining it. and will also get the woman around me to join too. i'm not on any social media so can't get update on facebook.
