NGO Petitions To Stop BBNaija

The NGO named Citizen GO sent the petition to policy makers, the National Broadcasting Commission, The Presidency and the public.

The collection of signatures which started on Feb. 20, already has a total number of 3,160 signatures. The organisation is hoping to get at least 5,000 signatures.

These are some of their grievances:

“Big Brother Nigeria is a corruption of TV Reality shows. The Nigerian public is complaining about the moral perversity in the House of the Big Brother Nigeria. In one episode last two weeks or so, the inmates were shown openly kissing and caressing one another. This is a celebration of obscenity, eroticism and idleness.

“More importantly, it is a big mockery of Nigerian culture and tradition. Since the inmates are Nigerians, they should have been projecting the Nigerian cultural heritage. But instead of doing that, they are bastardizing it.

“The biggest tragedy of the on-going Big Brother Nigeria is that our children are also glued to the TV screen watching it. Children are our future. Therefore we should protect them from lewd exposure, which might prevent their growth into free, independent and well-developed citizens.

“The NBC must live up to its bidding as a body charged with controlling, monitoring, regulating the electronic media and monitoring of satellite transmission in Nigeria. Our TV stations cannot become dumping grounds for all sorts of immoral programs.”

    1. Talk about misplaced piorities.
      .
Why can't they use this medium to talk about the decadence in our country NIGERIA courtesy of our politicians that divert our resources, wealth to their own finacial gains.

Nepotism has eaten deep into our country, they only give jobs 2 their family members.

Pedophiles are on d increase, violating innocent children's

Rapist, armed robbers,prostitutes- what do u think lead to all this crimes.

When the most integal part of a child's life is left unattended to,no good food, no eduacation. The child takes to the street and d street trains most of them in its way. Garbage in, garbage out.

All these people protesting should also append their signature to change the people killing our country.

Big brother nigeria is a satellite african pan programme that is watched in many African country not just nigeria. It is a programme that is meant to study how human beings can stay and tolerate themselves for a specified period of time and it cut across what makes us human.

It shows friends turning on friends, backstabbing,a lot of human traits. It's rated 18, without even watching the programme the kids have access to open online courtesy of their parents buying smartphones, iPad for their kids.

Please they should use their tongue to count their teeth.

To some extent I understand this petition; notminding I watch the show and follow updates!

Imagine giving them a kissing task and other shits. Sincerely, this is just glorifying immorality. I have male friends and we don't behave the way they behave in that house (sit on laps, kissing, touching, wrapping around, even bj etc)

Biggie also encourages it while reminding them they have to entertain us. Entertainment isn't all about sex! The ones not indulging like my dear cocoice* they send them home. It doesn't make sense! They don't even use votes sef!

See agbaya TTT denying his marital vows and biggie isn't saying a word about it. Maka gini na? Tomorrow it will become another trend (men absconding home and denying their status for money). It is not right!

That being said; they shouldn't stop the show! Just caution them and make necessary adjustments...

  12. First and foremost, if "their" children are watching, they the parents should be flogged with hide. According to the Nigerian constitution, 18 is the legal coming of age. The show isn't for people under 18. That being said, I still ask, what is BBN teaching us? What's its purpose? Yesterday, a friend took me through all the immorality perpetrated by housemates. I watched Gifty bang Bally, Bisola give TTT s BJ and thereafter beg for penetration, I watched Tboss moaning like what I don't know and Kemen's attempt to swallow Bisola's mouth. They should have spent that money either empowering plenty youths by teaching them skills or just dashed random people little chunks of it. Imagine the soup and rice pouring yesterday? Bullying at its highest and they call it entertainment. SMH

  23. I wish we can hippocratic attitudes we have in this country. I don't watch the show but I have clearly seen the advert stating 18 and above. So if kids are watching shouldn't we be blaming the parents. However so many imoral things happen in this beautiful country of ours. Rape of minors is on the increase, politicians are stealing left/right and centre, poverty and suffering in the land, postitutions everywhere and YET what you are caring about is cancelling BBnaija. Another point is can we stop living this lie that we are perfect. Abeg shift.

  43. I totally surport this... I have issues with this show.Bbn are using people as pawns, to play a ridiculous game that adds absolutely no value to people, what do we expect??? adults who are locked up in the same room, bathing and changing in the same room showing their chest and breast to each other, what do we expect from them? Preach the word of God to themselves????ooo please!!!! Lets be rational thinkers, yes there are porn sites and all that I understand, but there's a huge difference with airing a programme that is of no value to the viewers...we all are quick to judge TTT and Bisola and co but we fail to really look deep and tell ourselves the truth, they are only doing what BBN wants them to do(am very sure they were not put there to give inspirational talks). Don't misunderstand me,am not saying putting adults in the same room is a problem, am saying there is nothing entertaining, inspirational, educative or in watching big brother Nigeria...all I see is people sleeping away their time, lazying about have nothing meaningful to occupy their minds. See the likes of Gulder ultimate search.. I think they should channel the monies they are squandering away to do something meaningful or better still pump it into our Nollywood since they want entertainment.(if at all at all bad pass oo)... Ps. There is no excuse whatsoever a man would give to deny a beautiful woman and his kids. May God have mercy on us all

If you're worried about your children watching it, there's a parental control feature with which you can monitor what your kids watch.
I watch it at home, is that all they do? Sometimes I watch with my daughter during the day and she's never seen anything she shouldn't. Heck even I don't usually watch their parties so really.
Be the example you want your children to follow! Be who you want them to grow into! Please stop shifting blame. This is a show that's rated 18, shouldn't that tell you something?

Big brother naija should be scrapped, its a display of total rubbish, imaging putting adults(both male and female in the same room and tell them to go after each other like horny dogs just for 25million naira!!! Haba the truth must me told, that show has nothing meaningful to offer to the society. Those of you in support of big brother naija, what have you learnt from it? OK lemme guess, you guys learnt how to 1) give blowjobs under the sheet 2) kiss and caress 3) lie about your marital status etc. Oh please, the show should be banned already.
