      Exactly @Loyal, this isn't a rant!

A rant has undertones of anger, this doesn't seem like there anger in his heart. Instead it seems like there's gratitude for life despite all that happened.

We just like to use words because they're trending.
Stella, I'm correcting you, not belittling you oh.

Disclaimer; please I'm not Lilian oo! I've never even met her in my life! I do know people in the music industry who know Ubi and none of them have anything good to say about him! They have all described him as selfish, ungrateful and pompous.
Now, I follow Lilian on IG and her comments are full of "marriage counselors", calling her wicked for not wishing Ubi happy birthday, calling her names for not forgiving him and even on this blog, people seem to be team Ubi.
Well, we are all entitled to our own opinions. But I can't help wondering; why are Nigerians so quick to judge Lillian? Is it because she's not telling her side of the story? I have seen cases where the men appear so humble and respectful that no one will suspect them of even hurting a fly! Yet they beat their wives till they end up in emergency ward! In one case, because the woman was loud and flashy and the man was cool and gentlemanly, everyone thought the woman just wanted to disgrace the man till one day, she had to be rushed to the hospital after he beat her and she ended up needing surgery.
My point is, we need to hear both sides before we judge. For a woman-a mother of a toddler, for that matter-to leave so quickly, my people, the fire must've been too hot to withstand!Remember, Emma Nyra left because of abuse oo!
Nigerians always expect a woman to endure the worst, most inhuman situations in the name of marriage. Now, the one they say is "stay if he's not beating you!" And you think beating is the only form of abuse there is? My people, verbal/psychological abuse is the worst form of abuse there is! You will heal from physical injuries, but you will never heal from mental scars.
Let's stop putting all the responsibilities on women and hold men accountable more often. A woman cannot die in the name of marriage.
#rantover. God bless y'all and have a good day!

  36. Anon 10:28, thank you. People who have never had it so bad won't just understand. Women go through and endure so much so when they say, they are done for good, don't be too quick to judge cos you don't know for sure what really went down.
My husband doesn't beat me physically but God knows I ve been through hell. He is so uncaring, so stingy, so viciously vindictive and wicked. Once he makes up his mind about something, no matter how I beg or complain, he will never budge. I am currently running my masters programme on a salary of 35k yet my husband has inwardly vowed not to support me with even a dime of his. I said inwardly cos he never told me he won't give me money but each time i ask him even for transport fare to go for lectures, the answer is always "I don't have money ".
The other day, I was stranded on my way back from lectures, I called him to come pick me, a distance of not more than 15 mins drive, he told me to find my way home. Mind you it was already dark as the school is in a neighbouring state. I ended up walking most of the way home. He didn't bat an eye. Since I married him which is for almost 15 years now, I can't boast of a single item of clothing from my husband for all those number of years. I can go on and on with my sob story but who sobbing epp?
If I should leave now which I don't even plan to, people will call me wicked for leaving a man who has done me no wrong cos as long as you don't end up in a morgue, world people will never believe you have a good reason for leaving or sticking to your guns. Please let Lillian be, you guys don't know where she might be coming from.

  37. Happy birthday Mr Ubi!
Don't you think you need help?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Lilian is not the only woman on earth, Ubi too isn't the only man on earth.
As much as I believe in sorting ish out, if things cant be salvaged let both parties move on amicably.
That a man or woman doesn't want you again doesn't de-value you as a human being.
Not everyone gets it right on their first attempt at marriage. Some ppl have found happiness in their second marriage and remained happy there.
Plenty successful ppl in this world, be it abroad Steven Spielberg, Ted Turner that owns CNN, will smith and Jada Pinkett etc.
Even in this our Nigeria, T.Y Danjuma and Daisy, Mike Adenuga and Titi, Ojukwu and Bianca etc.
When does the begging end?? when do you count ur loses and just move on.
That your first marriage failed doesn't mean you cant find someone else, build a family and learn from your mistakes first time round.
I wish both Ubi and Lilian good luck.
