Woman Births Quintuplets After 10 Years Trying To Conceive...

Government yesterday said the first quintuplets in the state’s history were delivered Monday in Calabar to a couple who have been childless after 10 years of marriage, CRW reports.




The babies were delivered at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, UCTH. 

Dr. Linda Ayade, the Wife of the Governor donated N1m to the family of the quintuplets, with an incubator for the management of the new babies.


 She also donated N500,000 to the medical team, led by Professor Iklaki, that delivered the babies.

      @anon 17:16, the IVF was successful because God wanted it to be. No doctor can guarantee 100% success rate. So all praises to God still.

    Just watching "Outdaughered" a reality show on TLC about a man,his wife,first daughter and their Quintuplets.. Made me realize how the cries of 5 babies at the same time can sound.

    Congratulations.
    People should try and be mentioning their journey, if they had any assisted reproductive treatment, e.g IVF to encourage other TTC women.
    I often notice that a lot of people feel ashamed mentioning they had help to get pregnant.
    Even my sister in-law living in America that is learned likes hiding or denying she got pregnant through IVF.
    There is no shame there. It is also prayers that helped IVF to work and sees you through the pregnancy. Not all IVF treatment works.

      I'm not saying God doesn't perform miracle or that multiple births are impossible, but most of the multiple births we've been having lately ( notice how it has increased in the past 5 years ?) are through IVF and other forms of assisted pregnancy .reason is.. Due to the failure rate, after fertilization externally, more than one zygote is introduced into the woman with the hope that at least one or two would implant and in rare cases like this up to 5 gets implanted.
      Now I'm not taking the glory away from God; never would, I believe God gave men the knowledge of science to assist men when their faith is not strong enough, the reason Pastor's sometimes take drugs and medications.

      They will say ' my sister, it is God on'!! Of course, we know it's God but there's no shame in telling your story. Don't let society tell us otherwise.

    God of awesome wonders... When God is ready to bless you, he does it in a miraculous way. My aunt that waited for about 5 years too gave birth to twins first,she got pregnant again and had triplet,she got pregnant the third time and gave birth to twins again..

    @swagfresh yes only God can make even the IVF work because even some people can do 100 IVF and it won't work.
    But there is nothing wrong in letting us know your whole journey. Let other women in on your miracle so they can go to same hospital and also get their own testimony to share.
    One man called a radio station one day on this their TCC programme Bridge clinic use to come and talk, the man said his wife has been TCC for 10yrs. Do you know this people are educated and learned and have never been to hospital to seek help. You can't just only pray and not also help yourself through medical science.
    One woman even called to ask if baby's born through IVF are normal babies.
    Saying your full journey and the route you took also helps inspire couples passing through your issue. And we can all see baby born through IVF are normal baby's. It encourages people to try it and back it with tastings and prayers.
