Where Are You?

And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and ADAM AND HIS WIFE HID THEMSELVES FROM THE PRESENCE of THE LORD GOD among the trees of the garden.
Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, "WHERE ARE YOU?"
Gen 3:8-9.

"I WILL ARISE AND GO TO MY FATHER and I will say to him, Father I have sinned against heaven and before you....!"
Luke 15:18.

I had to synchronise these two bible passages because they have a lot in common.
Have you ever thought about what it would have been like, if Adam refused to play the 'blame game' and accepted the fact that he had goofed big time and then genuinely, wholeheartedly asked for forgiveness?

Because from the inception of time, there is no one that has ever run to God accepting to have done wrong and asked for forgiveness that God cast away. In fact, this was the quality that made David an exceptional person.

David will always be the first to own up to wrongdoing and beg God for mercy. And of course God who's mercy is new every morning always forgave David.

I was talking with someone the other day, and He said he hasn't prayed for nearly 4years! So many people are too guilty, they feel too dirty to come close to a clean God. Yes, you are filthy, but how dare you run away from the only One that can cleanse you?

See, Your filthiness can not stain God, but his cleanliness will cleanse you.
When God asked Adam "where are you?", the question wasn't for God's benefit, but for that of Adam. Because God is Omnipresent. He is everywhere at the same time. Hallelujah!
Where are you in this context, connotes "Why are you turning away from HELP?"

Yes, God hates your wrong doing, but GOD DOESN'T HATE YOU.
There are lots of benefit associated with having a close relationship with God. One of them is peace if mind. Nothing can give you genuine peace away from God, not even wealth! Wealth only gives temporary excitement, not lasting happiness!

A lot of people reading this, need to learn to apologise, not just to God alone, but to people we hurt. GENUINELY SAY 'I am Sorry' when they mess up, and stop looking for who to blame! Taking blames will not make you less of whom you are! One beautiful thing about genuine apology is that it puts the person to whom you apologised to in a tight corner. The person feels guilty if he/she refuses to forgive you.

    2. What I do is....I set my alarm for 5am....I make sure I read my bible and also pray, before doing any other thing....Especially going to classes or even coming on blogs takes your time, and before you know it,no time to study Gods word.

      Prayer is key

  10. Yes, God desires fellowship with us, each time we run away from His presence we loose our identity of who we are in Christ Jesus. Let's stay connected.
    Thanks and God bless Amos
