The association also gave the Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Prof. Francis Otunta, seven days ultimatum to resign from office for alleged gross incompetence and maladministration.
The President of NANS, Chinonso Obasi, who issued the threats during a press briefing on the state of the nation held in Abuja on Friday, said NANS would “relocate its Headquarters to Government House in Ibadan and Umudike.”
He decried the nonchalant attitude of governor Ajimobi towards the closure of LAUTECH for the past eight months, without considering its effects on the students.
He said, “NANS chides the Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi over the neglect of LAUTECH, Ogbomosho which has been under lock and key for almost eight months. We see his recent utterances that went viral on the social media during the students peaceful protest to Agodi Government House as shameful, uncivil and belittling the status of an Executive Governor. The governor is hereby issued with a seven-day ultimatum to reopen LAUTECH or face mass protest.
“Similarly, ÑANS calls on the Vice Chancellor of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike to resign within seven days for gross incompetence and maladministration. Failure to heed this patriotic call would be met with serious resistance as we shall not hesitate to occupy and chase him out of the university.”

ReplyDeleteI am watching in 3D
In Nigeria. .... if I hear
NANS has no issues with the VC of Michael Okpara University. Rather it is a few disgruntled lecturers who were unjustly promoted to the rank of professor that are behind all these. God will expose them all.

DeleteVictory is always ours. Ajimobi is an uncoth man, he lacks etiquette of being a leader.
ReplyDeleteAregbesola is a complete good for nothing governor, in fact both of them are not worthy to be governors

ReplyDeleteNANS is a toothless dog.
DeleteYou don lose customer. Dummy
DeleteFinally.
ReplyDeleteIts high time!
ReplyDeleteAjimobi's arrogant, superior and condescending attitude is unacceptable. That's the way he is with his staff. He rules Oyo State government as if it was handed down to him by his father. Very uncouth man. To think he's actually educated and exposed.
ReplyDeleteThe cries of the mothers and fathers of those students, who are hopeful that their kids will graduate soon and start to earn a living to support them will be heard by God.
If you continue to live in luxury whilst the rest of the state languishes in poverty, it will not be well with you and your children Ajimobi. Same goes for all people in power in Nigeria.
As in eh!
DeleteVery proud and arrogant.
I watched that infamous video and that "Bring that boy for me" was just sooo shocking!
You order ur armed soldiers to get you "that boy" just because he happened to be among the peaceful protest going on? And when u asked a question he answered u?
Oriegwu!
Dunno much about what goes on in your state but that video exposed you as a very bad leader.
A leader should act with decorum! You don't go "bring that boy,yes that one.yes bring him for me" on an innocent student that is only asking for fairness.
You guys needs to watch that video where he was addressing lautech students. Its was so funny. I don't know when I started laughing while watching it.
ReplyDeleteThe students really insulted him no be small .He even asked one of them insulting him ,is me you're talking to like that? are you sure you're a student? What are you studying? The whole students responded accounting. He then asked his officer to arrest the guy but their student union blocked them . its was so funny..
"What are you studying"?with such arrogance he couldn't speak well. He was asking what course are u DOING??
DeleteSMH for this country with its incompetence leaders who doesn't give a hoot about its people.

ReplyDeleteThis is sad!
ReplyDelete8 long months!
Or what will happen? NANS is no match for this thug. Ajimobi is an agbero. He dared the students to do their worst. 8months wasted and still counting.
ReplyDeleteSo NANS those not have regard for Constituted authority abi?
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't know how the VC of Michael Okpara University comes into this. The school is in session, students are studying and getting set for exams. Bottom line: this is a hatchet job aimed at embarrassing the VC who is less than a year on the job and doing his best to clean the mess left by his predecessor. NANS is not constituted authority.
ReplyDeleteMOUAU VC is a thorough bred administrator,a First Class product and a firm and resolute achiever who won't bulge from his duties because of a mere joker in NANS who has ostensibly been paid to embarrass the VC and the institution.
ReplyDeleteSo this January, there were sweeping changes in MOUAU leading to the removal of several Heads of Department, especially those were involved in extortion from students. Several of those HODs were wrongly and unjustly promoted to the rank of professor and they have since become clogs in the wheel of progress in the university. This won't deter the VC. Hopefully the university comes out better and stronger after this episode.
