Gideon Okeke dissed his older Colleague Chiwetalu Agu on his social media handle a few days back,His older Colleague Chioma Apotha rebuked him for doing so and Tony Muonagor a.k.a Tonyoneweek has rebuked Chioma for rebuking Gideon and worsened the matter by further explanations....

Gideon oke made some sense but went about it the wrong way...everyone has an opinion that most times it is good to keep to yourself and not use it to insult your elder in the process,this is Africa for crying out loud and respect is the order of the day and it is an abomination to be disrespectful to your elders all the cultures and norm frown towards it in this part of the world,same applies to tony one week also made good valid points but went about the wrong way by shaming chioma chukwuka who did the right thing if am to be honest...why not contact her privately must you do it publicly just for cheap publicity

DeleteHave you listened to Chinwe recently? If it's not mammy water being impregnated by Satan, it is one extremely vulgar phrased repeated o er and over. I see absolutely nothing wrong in him being called out publicly for it, it is too much and, frankly speaking, I don't think he would heed this had Gideon contacted him privately.
The man has obviously joined bad gang spiritually sha, else, I don't see how an "elder " can feel comfortable with that amount of vulgarity in his life- make belief or not!
Anonymous comparing Gideon baby mama to chinweta wife the arguments is not about thier personal life or who is a role model. The argument is about on scteen behaviour. The lack of decorum and the manner in which he speaks and the constant vulgarity of the words and phrases he uses. This also has nothing g to do with scripting because that is how alll his movies are. For example he will insult somebody and be repeating from begining to end " the cow has licked the right breast of its owner" almost in every scene till the movie ends. I myself have noticed it. The producers give hime so much leway he has started talking utter nonsensee. He is not the first one to play a strong role were his personality is the same in all movies. Mama g has done it, nkem owoh also has done it, but the vulgarity in his own is too much. Do you get? He boasts that he has done so many movies but so many are scriptless is it by quantity or quality. The points Gideon made are real and true although in africa this is not the best way to go about it. Some nollywood actors need to get in check sha. The reason such poor productions and actors are even so popular is bcos the masses are poor and uneducated. That is thier level of entertainment. Its the bitter truth. If you give them a good movie like 50 or October 1st they will say it's dry. They cannot even be able to comprehend a movie like inception, they will be lost.

ReplyDeleteThe truth is that I used to Enjoy Chiwetalu agu in movies but recently I feel like shutting my ears sometimes when he talks DIRTY. It only Igbos that will understand he uses very very dirty slangs and I personally will not want my kids to watch or take up some of those slangs. I remember one of the movies where the new actress was obviously uncomfortable by his lines. I know that sex sells and no one wants an elder insulted but is that the case? Is it wrong to air ones opinion about an elder? He didn't use any insultive words on chiwetalu.
ReplyDeleteChioma Chukwuka on the other hand is not in any position to talk about RESPECT! She is the most difficult actress to work with on set. She maltreats younger artistes in the name of respect. Yet she has insulted and quarrelled with veterans like Pete Edochie, Patience Ozokwor, and even Gossiped about Rita Edochie. Chioma is a known nollywood gossip and everyone knows she likes to leverage on issues to bully people. Same way she bullied Muma gee on that TV show. Please let this issue rest already. But the question remains, how do we correct our elders? Is it wrong to speak out even without insult about an act of an elder that is worrisome? How would we feel if our kids takes on some of these slangs? This is a very sensitive issue. I remember when someone told a woman that she should not insult a man that raped her 4year old child cos he is an elder. They even went ahead and fined her in the village for insulting a titled man. Yet they banished everyone from attending the case cos they said the man will be tried by the elders. This is why Nigeria will keep lagging behind. Constructive criticism should be welcomed by everyone young or old. This is the same thing Gov Ajimobi felt "insult" by common students. You expect them to respect you when they ve been frustrated at home. We leave the main issue and delve into other things.
Couldn't Gideon DM him privately, call, sms or email him directly? That's the whole ruse Madam/sir! Go online and bash your boss or superior at work and let's see how it goes.

ReplyDeleteI can't even begin to interpret this my people.. the worst was that we were still at home then.. a seemingly nice home video that was passing the message about widows and how they get maltreated by the man's relative turned out to become the most uncomfortable movie you watch with adults.
Until you've heard him say these things,you will understand that repetition part. It feels like you want to just disappear especially in the presence of a parent.
Ofcourse after he repeated it twice,we were chased from the sitting room.
I respect Chiwetal Agu as an elder,I wish Gideon passed the message across better.
I think Okey Bakassi did,maybe cos he's sort of from their time.
