Memories Of Best/Funniest Christmas Ever..

Some people cannot remember their best Christmas ever cos all has been good...Some cannot forget their best Christmas ever cos it probably has only been one.....

I have several good memories of Christmas as a child....those times when we went shopping for New 'curtina ' shoes and white socks, those crazy dress which i rejected if they didn't look dramatic..The few times we went to the village for Xmas and the memories with my grandparents was epic and i cannot forget.

I will never forget my first Xmas as a mum...my boy was 4 months old and it was beautiful looking out the window at the snow carrying my baby in arms, the feeling i got then still gives me goose bumps till today.

Funniest Xmas ever? All dressed up on Xmas day and discovered i had bought two left legs of curtina shoes!

    2. My best Xmas ever...I went to church as usual that day..just to have fun and to say Happy birthday 🎂 Jesus on the 25th of December.

Merciful God,I was called upon by a beautiful lady, she asked me to go see the other lady seated at the right, close to the chorister's...So,I met this woman and I was given a scholarship...it has been good ever since.....

On Sunday,I invite you all to Methodist Church Calabar Becroft street ....God is real.

My worst Christmas was in 199... When a street neighbour and her daughter died on the 24th.

    6. Will I call this worst no but a funny Christmas.. That was 10years ago my dad wasn't around and my mum as a civil servant was on duty that day, their salary wasn't paid and savings was used to pay my brother's school fee cuz he just gained admission.. So to my story and I really hope it will inspire someone that when there is life there is hope don't ever give up on life cuz u never know when ur angels would arrive... So that was how I my sis and brother with my mum set out to her office on this Christmas day mum brought out her fine new set of dish it was four in numbers one for garri one for kulikuli one for sugar and the last one for drinking the garri we packed everything and we went to her office we just kept singing and praising God even tho deep down with my mum she wasn't really happy no new shoes n clothes for her children, on getting to the office we played and when it was time to eat I saw two of her senior colleagues with coolers I ran to meet my sister that mum's colleague brought rice that's how we started dancing n went inside the office waiting for them to open the coolers atleast we were sure small rice will get to us..lo and behold when they opened their coolers it was garri that was there yeppa my eyes turned red seeing it was garri that's how my mum jokingly said we too brought international garri flakes but theirs had no sugar no kulikuli that they had to use style to beg for sugar from us and I was like so our own sef better .I give glory to God because now we are all married and doing well because the following year our angel came visiting. All the years of suffering was forgotten. I pray all those in need ur angels will locate you very soon inj .sorry for the long epistle just needed to encourage someone .Stella biko post this one oo because I don't always see my comments. 2. Worst Christmas was last year when an aunt of mine was involved in a terrible accident which lead to the death of her 5yr old son. A child they waited for after 18yrs of marriage. It was so painful then but God as a miracle worker that He is decided to put a smile on the couple's faces again by blessing them with twins.
Dear bvs TTC, pls don't loose faith, hold onto God for He is planning something bigger... Let me go anon

    3. Funniest xmas had to be the one where there was a mixup with the cooking. I usually make the fried rice and my elder sister does the Jollof or coconut rice.
So that Christmas she insisted on making the fried rice and we argued about it. Apparently when I stormed off she shouted "make your damned fried rice!" But I no hear so I thought she was making stew but na jollof she cook.
So I finished watching Vampire Diaries and went to make jollof rice. Time to set the table, we discovered we both made jollof. Another round of screaming ensued. Our folks were just looking at us like we were crazy. We probably were. We sha ate two different jollof rice

  12. The best Christmas for me was outside Nigeria one year like that. I totally had fun.

Uhmm, another one was in Enugu (the second time I went there), seeing my cousins that have been in diaspora (didn't even know some of them), it was real real fun until the elderly ones decided to spoil it with their "land fights". Thank God, the land sharing issue is settled now though. I'll also not forget the nasty experience I had with ukwa, I don't like that food till tomorrow!

For those of you going to Enugu or in Enugu already, help me branch to Ezeagu and tell them "Rocky misses them" Lol!

  13. I really can't remember, Christmas was always fun as a kid,we always had new clothes and shoes, plastic googles, wrist watches and new hair do.sometimes we travelled to visit family,it was always fun. As an adult,it's not bad either, but it always comes with some kind of nostalgia/ sober reflection. Another year ending, how far I have come and the rest, plus I no longer eat birds,so Christmas chicken is a no for me. I hardly go out during the festivities these days ( no where to go anyway). Sometimes, I cry for no specific reason on Christmas and new tear day, especially new year day.

  14. My xmas was neva dramatic, wat I always looked forward to was eating d chicken, we didnt have a say on wat to wear, mumcy will just buy d shoes nd cloth, I guess I was a quiet girl wen growing up,evn till now,an introvert so nothing dramatic,, I didnt evn look forward to visiting peeps or going to d village or staying away from home like visiting my uncles nd aunt cos we neva did any of those, none whatsoever no gift also, christmas was normal

  16. Best Christmas ever was my first Xmas in my husband house. I took charge of everything and planned things the way I like as a new wife. A small girl was with me to help out and I was a madam. It was sweet.
Now, since last December, our Christmas has been somehow because of this man's sickness. It drained the family emotionally and financially and he is not getting better. I'm just tired now. I wish us all a merry Christmas.
    Santa, don't forget me o.

  17. Memorable Christmas should be 2006, when I got a puppy at villa, was carrying the puppy like my baby, sha people were looking me no send na. Na their business, see small children dey follow me for back.

Another was 2006/2007 can't really remember. Went to where people do fetch water with my sis and cousin to fetch, we sat down on one big rock waiting for our turn and gisting, oya na see green snake come pass us on the rock, na im I jump up, come shout, told my cousin to kill it na, people were laughing, one man now came and told us that in our villa we don't kill green snakes, me was like shuu, haba he come dey explain say na ancestor ishhh, I no even listen, I know say na ignorance. I asked what if it bites me, he said he won't if you are a son or daughter of that land, that it knows it's people, mehn I didn't even wait for him to finish just went to fetch cus it was my turn, my sis was laughing, it was funny oh, so make I smile na if I see green snake, mtchewwwww. I vex that day come reach, come tell mama and Papa see laugh na, that they should have told us. Funny thing is how some villagers greet the snake. You will just be walking ohh, snake go just come pass you say high. Like haba.. Come to think of it haven't heard any incident of snake bite in that villa. Till date snakes na a.. I still run abi fly sef.. Phewww tradition indeed.

  24. One of my best Christmas experience was being the only grownup girl at home at the time, I was left with responsibility of food delivery!
I so much loved it,a day before Christmas, my dad will give me some amount of money for transport fare and even extra money for miscellaneous expenses.

I so much love the jumping from one motorcycle to another, delivery Christmas food to relatives, family friends, neighbours and church members.
All the money I made from sharing food, I always keep for making new shoes.

My worst experience is not been able to get my size of shoes! My foots were on the big side, even though my sisters will bring shoes for me, it never fits.
I had to make sandals that I wore specially for running Christmas errands.
I never care about Christmas clothes because I hated the idea of wearing Christmas clothes and going to visit people.
One time, one of my older sisters brought me buba and iro, with asoke and I was not happy about it, when it was time to go out with them, I pretended to be feeling ill.

Christmas was always fun in my father's house, that man loved life and the music of King Sunny Adebiyi, SSP, Ebenezer Obey, oOsadebey, Oliver the coque (hope I spelt it right) etc... were his favourites.

  26. Favour is my Name! Favour is my Name!!!

Dear Bvs, please help me bless God..
I lost huge amount to mmm, but I never for once proclaim negative... My Angel contacted me to help her bless 10 families in need a food stuff which I did and faithfully concluded this morning...

I was flat broke and never asked my Angel for help.. earlier today, I read a post here about Mr. CEO wanting to bless a particular bv on yesterday's spontaneous post... I had to go back and read the random message... Got his mail and sent him a message...

I told him I dunno if am d bv he wants to bless, but I read it and I need a Santa.. he replied after few minutes or hours, he said yes! It is you... Jesus!!! I was shocked.. he requested for my account number which I did. After 10 minutes , my sister, my brother, after 10 minutes I got a credit alert!!! A credit Alert.... Not a 10k credit Alert.. A heavy one, my dear I just bowed my head on my desk in the office in tears, couldn't believe I was in tears because only God knows, how I've been thinking of shopping this afternoon and replacing my make up in preparation to travel....

I open my eyes to another confirmation mail from my bank...

Mr CEO, words have failed me today, I never expected it, my colleagues saw me giving out, not knowing the giver was even broke at that moment, you have made me to smile more this Christmas,May the Almighty bless you.... Multiply you, and increase you on all sides... Permit me to say I love you for the kind of heart you have.... You so far have blessed over 150 BVS (no vex say I put the number) 10k each is 1.5M.and you blessed me with more than that... God replenish you.... You are soaring higher in 2017....

To my Beautiful Angel E... I refuse to cry to you, because your heart of Gold will want to bless me,but I knew there were people who needed more than I did.. you have fed 10 families and approximately over 40 kids.... Your star shall continually shine brighter and brighter.. your kids will be known for Good across the globe... While you are yet to speak God will Answer you... You are surely a woman with a heart of Gold... You're a popular BV so I won't mention your name to avoid people begging you via Mail.. you know I love you..

Sexy daddy kindly check your mail, I want to play santa to your family...

Love you all my wonderful BVS.... I will leave the office to balogun soon.... I might not see comments again till night fall.

  29. Funniest Xmas was at my villa in 2008. .
My big cousin and I went to fetch water at the village stream,we saw plenty people having their bath at the stream and joined in.Shortly after my cousin suggested we cross to the other side to one quiet stream in a neighboring community with sparkling water called "iyita ocha"..I agreed.

We crossed ooo..walked briskly along the bush path through the ruffled leaves while some birds whistled in rhythm ...Minutes later,we got to the stream and We drank from the water then she suggested we fill up our containers..oh boy!! The water tasted fresher than Eva water and it was chilled too.

On our way home ,we met some people from the neighboring village who were carrying bunches of palm kernel fruits.. I begged them to give me some,I was chewing and enjoying myself while I gisted her about my new christmas dress I will show her when we got home.

There was a huge flat plank placed across as a bridge to the other side of our village..we crossed the first time to the other stream and there was no sign of sound of breakage.

Hmmmm,my people,i passed jejely with my bucket of water balanced on my head while my hips swayed by side ..
It was my cousins turn, one step ,2 steps everytin was fine until the 3rd step,I heard some cracking sounds and the blank broke and my big sis fell into the stream with a loud thud...lmaoooo...Hahahahahhaa
Everyone started laughing oooo,in fact no one even remembered to say sorry cos the tin was too funny

Her clothes were drenched with water and she was laffing too...I brought down my bucket of water and dived into the stream too to have a second bath...Hahahahahahha.That's how we stayed ooo and forgot they were waiting for water at home.

We made history that day as the whole village kept talking about the broken bridge.....The next day, they had to cut about 10 strong bamboo sticks ,tied them strongly and kept it as an "improvised bridge".it was the funniest Christmas to me....
Sadly,i won't be traveling this year cos I have make up jobs to do in Owerri....I miss my villa a lot ..Now I visit the other side more...

Anyone from Abia,Isukwuato precisely???Hit me up NWANNE UKWU!!

  30. Oh Stella, I remember my best Christmas was when I had my son a day to Christmas. You see, there is something attached to a male child that is not explainable. I already had a girl Before, my late husband was the first son, a son was definitely needed. So having a son on the 24th of December made my home like a festival. I was discharged in the evening of the same day and I went home. Immediately they heard I had a boy, my brother inlaw went and bought a big goat for xmas. Oh Lord, it was beautiful, smiles on everyone faces, pampering and love every corner. I was happy and fulfilled. Sadly, we lost the breadwinner too in December. I should be sad as I type this but looking at my son who's birthday is tomorrow, I m sheding tears of mixed feelings. I don't have anything for him tomorrow but I know God has great plans for him in future. May God be with us and keep us all.

  35. Oh! I have had so many memorable Christmases during my childhood/teenage years..
Is it the fun shopping at alade market ikeja and at please mum?
Is it the fun of watching on while goats are slaughtered, burned, and cooked with sumptuous meals in the villa?
Is it the many fights with my many cousins that always happen during Christmas?
Is it the presents, most of which are books?
I really looked forward to Christmas as a kid, but now as an adult, it's no longer exciting. I guess it would be exciting for me again when I have kids, cos I would have to look forward to celebrating every Christmas with them.

My heart goes out to people that lost their loved ones during Christmas, and as a result of that, they never look forward to celebrating Christmas..always know this, every Christmas, you are never alone. Your loved ones might not be with you physically, but they are always present.so chin up, try to be happy, and know that Every Christmas, and always, someone is looking down on you.

  40. My best Christmas as a kid was the one I was taken to see Father Christmas a day to Xmas day. Ikwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwa

In those days, father Christmas was not common, we only had one at the only TV station in the state back then(NTA). So you can imagine my joy when we tuned on our black and white TV on Xmas Day and I saw myself sitting on Father Xmas's legs answering his questions....

The gifts I got from father Xmas also went a long way to make that Xmas unforgettable....
    Ikwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwa

I remember using the plastic cup for years and dem no born anyone well to touch am. I washed it myself and even took it to school well hidden in my bag. Ikwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwa

  42. As an adult, I don't have a best yet..
I always try as much as I can to make myself happy and enjoy it....no matter what...
I'm grown now, no more crying for a particular type of gown... Now I wear whatever I feel like wearing.
For this Xmas, I had a tailor sew a short and sexy ankara gown for me, also made exactly the same thing for my girl, bought cute heels for us to rock our dresses with, nice hairdo and jewelries to go. We both are gonna have a photoshoot on that day, oh how I love pictures... Thank God for giving me a beautiful model, my daughter likes fashion and pictures. She is my best friend....and we look so alike... #happymum #itcanonlybeGod #daughtersrock

Now I'm beginning to sound like some storytellers here...ikwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwa

I prophesy beautiful baby girls into the lives of all those TTC here, this time next year, you will celebrate with your beautiful cute angels.....

  46. My most memorable Christmas is when my younger brother was about 4yrs old, we travelled to the village.then my grand father had a mud house that we used to call 'old house' and my dads younger sister had a store by the old house and she used to sell kaikai. While my mum was cooking in the 'new house's we strolled to the old house to stay with the grand parents, we didn't know when my brother went into the store, opened the keg of kaikai and sucked enough with the host my aunt kept beside. He came out and after a while he just started doing backflips and laughing o, I had to go carry him from the sand then I perceived the kaikai on him, I just screamed and took him to mom. They quickly put some water in his bath basin to wash him, this my younger brother just bent his head inside the basin and was saying "mummy I wan to schwim" then he started singing " ah fiyu goooood" (I feel good) 😂😂that was one hell of a day!

I first watched it 5years back, went to my film archives to search for some interesting old movies and came across this epic movie and Merlin, I will start with Merlin as soon as I finish this one. I'm watching season 4 now.

  49. My best Christmas ever was in 2009. Went to see my folks at their base. I was really loaded. And I had just bought a new ride too. Came prepared for everyone. All they needed to do was to touch or request anything and I pay (my immediate family o). I had a lot of cash to throw around also, to family friends and well wishers.
I put so much joy and laughter on my mom's face and that made me very happy.
I am looking forward to do dat soon again.

  51. I remember when I was abt 12 yrs,mum bought me an already made skirt n blouse wt a waist coat on top. Xmas came and I rocked it only for some of our neighbours to be laughing at me dt my mum always buys already.made for me as if I was still a baby (jealousy)dt I should always reject wen she gives me such that I would look more matured in cut and sew. Chaii,I felt really bad and shy bcx they all wore local cut n sew. I couldn't even move freely again.

next Xmas approaching and I insisted on cut n sew,mum was very surprised and tried convincing me but I was adamant she was surprised as to how I badly need cut and sew, than I told her. She tried to make me see that mine was better and of a better quality but I insisted so she let me have my way. She asked for the type of material I neede and I went for "shaking material"
long story short, the tailor made a printed skirt and jacked and it was b!d on me. Trust my mum,she insisted I wore the dress and forced me to go out wt them. Infant she sent me out and locked d door. I went to my neighbours and all of them had a good laugh, they laughed me silly and I was really so ashamed I could even eat.
Chai, worst xmass ever. My mum can discipline person dt yr as a teacher dt she is I wonder y my kids r so lucky wt her dis time.

  52. The best Christmas I had was in 1996.you see my father had a terrible accident that year and was in coma for 2months.After he woke up, he lost his memory and had to be reminded we were his kids. On Christmas day, he called our names and we were 5 in number. That was my best Christmas ever! My dad remembered my name. He passed on some years back never fully recovered. Life is precious live it well.

My parents run a poultry so goats, chicken, pigs was a regular thing we slaughter every weekend cos we sell them too. mostly every Christmas it's pig we slaughter my mum and big sis do the cooking part then we take them to grandpa's house for the big party with all my cousin being around its fun. It's just new year eve I know I must chop hot slap from my parents cos I don't like following them to their church prefer going with my friends to their own church which my dad doesn't not approved but I will still excape trust my parents when I get back they will be waiting at the door for me with my gift ogbono felifeli slap.

I have these fond memories of when I was a kid. My dad will personally take me to a hair dresser to make a hair style we called darling curls. And I start feeling like a princess. He has been down with stroke for 6 years now. Lord if only you will just heal my dad, so we can do all the things we talked about. Am married now but I miss my dad so much. Even if is just to hear him call my name the way he used to.

  58. I wish i also have a story to tell on my best Christmas celebration ever; since i was a child & up till now no fun, no new dress whatsoever instead is one policy to the other even on festive/free season like Christmas. I just want 2019 to come fast so that I'll be free from all these authoritative abi na monarchical home/policies & build my self esteem back cuz everything is just annoying to me.

Dear future hubby, i hope u'll filled up all that I have missed when we finally get married? You'll buy me all that I never had when I was small/young.

  59. This Christmas is the worst Christmas cos I can't even talk to talk to my kids. I was hoping to hear them sing to be this Christmas like they did last year. Oh God please hear my cry and come to my aid. I miss my angels sooooo much, my heart is breaking even more. Merry Christmas my babies. By God's grace next we'll be together and I'll make up for the four Christmases we missed together.

  62. Super mama it is well with you, God will heal your husband and give him a long life. I feel for you anytime I see your comment about his sickness, I remember how my dad was sick for years before he finally died. It was a trying period for the whole family. We managed to finish school by God's grace. Today, we are thankful.

Now my Christmas as a child was fun filled. We would do promise card few weeks to the time and start collecting gifts and money. From my own money I will buy toys and other fancy things. On Christmas day, me and some other kids will go round in our Christmas regalia from home to home, eating and drinking, when we are done, the house owners will give us money to share. At the end of the day, we will sit and rate all the stews we ate and score them according to taste and the size of the meat. There was this Calabar woman whose stew always beat other women's from year to year.
Now, things have changed, children don't go round to eat anymore.

  64. Christmas as a kid was fun, remembered how we will wear new pants and shimi to serve food to neighbours. My mother can cook for Africa, lol. We always look forward to the money that we'll be given. But since my mother died in November of 1989, that was the end of Christmas celebration for us. My father really tried for us, became father and mother to us(did not marry till he died in 2014) for almost 25years. The most memorable Christmas till date was 2012, my 1st with my baby. Even though I was alone with her, just looking at her face. Been a mother is the best feeling I ever had. Am forever grateful to Santa God for making me experience motherhood. This Christmas also, it's just us. My Santa can please make it more meaningful

  65. I have over 100 cousins and 80% of them are female.so growing up Christmas was more of a reunion. The intresting thing was that most of us lived in our grandpas house at the time so we had mad fun and of course fights too.

I remember our crazy hide and seek game(some of us hide in our grandpas yam barn or grandmas goat house.)lol

We would also bring food stuff from our various kitchens and cook in empty tin tomatoe container.

I lost my mum in my teenage years so the sole responsibilty of making Christmas meal and other dishes fell on me as the first child.I missed Christmas with family last year cos of work and will be missing this years cos i cant afford to travel

I miss home but what can i do.Someone should invite me over for Christmas cos Lag got me.
