Meeting Point -24

Awwwww....

Hello Stella, you are doing a great job. I'm sure your blog has saved many from depression and boredom. We (I've introduced many) are addicted to it and we love your fun personality. Keep up the good work.

I would like ‎to share the story of how I met my hubby. Ours is a sweet, teenage love story that God destined to end happily ever after. We were classmates in secondary school. We became classmates in S.S.2. He asked me out but I turned him down. He said he felt that actually meant it was all lost but an older friend noticed his depression and told him not to relent that women always said "no" the first time and then played hard-to-get.

So my guy continued and became relentless. Everyone in my set got to know. I embarrassed him severally, pushed him away in every way I knew possible(trust secondary school girls style LOL) not because there was anything wrong with him but I just didn't want the "girlfriend" tag then more so we were not only in the same school but also in the same class, everyone would get to know and all the gossip and all.

I had it seen it happening all around with other girls in class then and just didn't want to be like that. Along the line, I fell hopelessly in love with him too but I just couldn't bring myself to say so especially after I had insulted him severally both openly and privately while trying to discourage him and get him to stop. I started looking forward to seeing him in class but would pretend as if I hated to (LoL). My heart would thump when I learnt he was on the phone ( the days of land lines), he would visit me at home with other classmates and they would play games and football with my brother outside but most times, I wouldn't even spare him a glance.

A classmate had a party in town. I couldn't find my way there. This guy offered to come pick me from my house. He took me there and brought me back (by public transport oh) and that really touched me. That was probably the first thing he did that touched me but there has been millions of others. He was always so calm and cool. There was a day I gave him the biggest embarrassment of his life and he told someone he was finally going to let go that he could see that nothing would change my mind about him but he kept on. Then we left secondary school. I gained admission into the university first, infact I was to graduate very well ahead of him but it didn't shake our relationship.

Anyway, along the line, we had ‎become friends and would gist and laugh but each time he brought up the "toasting" vibe, I would act angry and my head go spark. Hahaha. So, we had left school, I had become an undergraduate, he hadn't but he was still visiting, toasting and I was forming. At this point, I didn't even know how to bring myself to say "yes" anymore because the forming of "I'm not interested"don three much ooo.

One day, he came around, we were talking and he started again. As usual, I got angry and was using my sharp tongue when from no where, this guy just put both his hands on my waist, started caressing my waist. I was stunned! Before now, though it had been some years of friendship, there had never been anything physical whether by touch, talk or even in his letters. I had never been touched and was not expecting it so I was lost for words. Then he bent his head and started dropping kisses on my neck. I was now beyond stunned. We were outside but I couldnt even bring myself to stop him. Infact thank God we were outside else maybe something else would have happened. My temperature shot up, my panties were soaked then I started trembling (much to my embarrassment). He was whispering but I couldn't hear a thing.

My heart was drumming loudly. Chineke!!!

Then he stopped.

He later told me he became scared because I was trembling so badly. He couldn't understand it. My people, it was brief but I felt like I was in a trance and that trance-like state continued for two whole days! I still don't know if that is how women react the first time they are touched or if it was shock in addition to it all. That was what broke the ice oh! He had to leave shortly after but it was on a new level. I thank God for this incident because I don't know if I would have been able to say "yes" otherwise. We still cannot explain what led to it so I take it that it was the Lord's doing. So it was on that note we started.

We didnt have sex though till many years later. We didn't get married till many years later but there was never a break and we never dated others. We are blessed with three kids now and I truly feel blessed and favoured. My man is just the best for me and our shared history makes it all wonderful.

We have mutual friends and sometimes just have a great time laughing about old times. We grew up together and experienced many firsts together and God has blessed us beyond our imaginations. I still have some of his old text messages where he wished for a time like this when we would be married and have our kids running around.

Maybe because‎ it was my experience but I feel marrying your secondary school mate is one of the best things but you may have to be patient because there is a lot of growing up to do on both sides and in today's world, it might take some time before that guy becomes financially ready. Phew! I hope you enjoyed my love story.

Woooow.what a sweet love story!

    1. My sister, like I said up there, you have to be very patient and determined br first be sure of your guy because just the fact that he is an old friend doesn't mean he is God's choice for you. When you are convinced that he is, remain focussed because though the road is tough, the prize is great so keep your eyes on your golden prize. Your friends may be dating guys who have graduated and are working already while us still seems a far way off but the quality of relationship you are having with your could be far superior to theirs. It was like that for me too but guess what? I still got married before some of those who were already dating "made guys." as for the distance, I experienced that when he went to serve because he was posted to a very distant place. The first 5months we didn't see at all and it was not the time of chatting. Sometimes I would have doubts & cry myself to sleep but all you can do is remain disciplined and pray for God to honour you. I hope I have been helpful?

  23. Beautiful story. Very similar to mine. Met my husband when we were in primary 1. I was 5, he was 6. Three beautiful kids later, we are still tripping for each other. Lol. I have a massive crush on him till date. He does too. We still hold hands, he kisses me every morning and evening, we have never been apart for more than a week cos we travel together. We pray together. We shower together. It's been God all the way. No matter how angry we get with each other, we make sure we settle all before bedtime. And yes, we still have sex. Regularly. Our eldest daughter is now 22 and getting married in the first quarter of next year. I am 45 and hubby is 46. I had my third baby last year even. Second is 17. Maybe I will send my story to Stella.
