Collapsed Church - Benue Gov Ortom Employs The Daughter Of His Staff Who 'Fell'

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom visited the family of a deceased staff of his office, the late Mrs. Philomena Mwarga Musa, who died when a church collapsed in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, last Saturday.

While there, he directed the Head of the State Civil Service to employ Miss Iveren Agbor, the first daughter of the deceased and a graduate of Theatre Arts from Benue State University, to fill the gap, in the family, which her mother’s departure had created.

No less than 100 people perished following the collapse of the new church building of Reigners Bible Church in Uyo, during a special service.

  2. Really sad. How that minister pulled so much crowd to that event that looks like a desert beats me.

Thank you Ortom. May others too do the same and help families. Painful and i pray we never fall victims of any circumstances.

  5. I don't understand though. The state of Akwa Ibom said 26 people died but some medias say 100 or so...

    1. The media would never reveal the real number of people that died...cause of criticism....they always divide the numbers by two or three..

  9. Its one thing to employ, its another thing to pay salaries. Gov. Ortom that is owing 6months salary and 2years+ arrears of some employees...ok o.

    1. Tell me about it. This man does not make any effort to pay salaries so he can even employ the whole Nigerian populace so long as salary is not involved.
