  4. The age doesn't matters to me (except those above 80yrs old) if they're fit, healthy and eager to perform!
Other world leaders are also in the same age gap, so no big deal!

Our worries should be how effective these leaders are, have they been able to fix their various countries? Do they delivered on their promises?

  12. Politics is a career, you have to climb the ladder. Presidency is the peak of it, most politicians are above 60 by the time they get to that level.

  13. In civil service, you retire between 60 and 65 years, because it is believed you can no longer give tour best after this age. Looking at this chat,I'm just speechless. Retirees taking up the most tedious jobs in their respective countries.

  14. Hence, the backwardness & in civilization in Africa! Smh!

  15. The greedy old ones won't allow the 40 years olds that have been calling themselves leaders of tomorrow since KG 1 to rule na....

The 40 year olds are not even ready jare cos they don't believe they can ever win their grand father's age mate in an election.

Anyway, Africans believe wisdom comes only with age which is why oldies will continue to rule the continent.

  21. None of una talk sense since. How old is US president elect (Donald trump)?. How old German chancellor( Angela markey)? I can see we actually are the enemies of ourselves. Let 30yrs, 40yrs, 50yrs old contest for election and win then let's see if they will be robbed of it.

  24. Stella u're wrong o....Nigeria produced the youngest Head of State in the person of General Yakubu Gowon in 1966. He was 32yrs old bachelor when he emerges HOD following the coup that took place.

    1. Fool, can't you read the handwriting on the wall? Yes, Gowon in '66 when Nigeria was fresh off of independence. Now, these same men of a certain age don't want to sit down and let the younger ones take their plc and run the country. They're too busy holding on to the titles for their dear lives, not wanting to give up power because they are greedy and power-hungry. What happened to the youth our leaders of tomorrow? They won't even give these younger ones a chance. But they can remember how old they were when they started in politics. Smh and they do it in other countries as well including the US.

    2. Ignoramus like you! Can u read at all? My response was to Stella's choice of words of 'ever heard' irrespective of era. I can't see you're so daft that ur excuse was due to era involved. Gowon was just a rare case occurrence cos there were many nationalists and leaders before him but none as young as him. Go school urself before u open ur stricken mouth and use ur borrowed data to call someone fool for his opinion and stating a fact.
I can't blame u either, wen u're just a coward hiding under anonymous yet asking for power which is the problems of Nigerian youths. In other climes, youth rally round, steps out, involved and engaged in govt but it's opposite here, people sits in their comfort zones and expecting manna or sometimes being used as devil's tool during election so how do they want to get to power? If u don't have constructive opinion to make just shut ya trap mouth and go get a life #sorryass.

  25. If 70 is the new 40, then why is civil service retirement age pegged at pegged at 60/65? Even the people that drafted the constitution knew that after 70, diminishing returns is inevitable.
My African leaders, may God help you people to lead us well o, may he not permit you to be retarded at old age o, as una say una no wan rest una go work until una die o, una no go enjoy una children, na una children and grand children go enjoy una bc una be hardworking fathers and grandfathers o, after una don die una children go de clueless bc una no teach them how to fish but consistently gave them fish o, as una be leaders of yday, today and tomorrow una go carry leadership enter ground make una children so so de follow follow ti ti lai lai.... This is my prayer to my ancestral leaders, may God hear and answer IJN. Aaaaaaamen.
