When you get to heaven and God asked you what He did with your blessings and talents, all of you can only say "I endured and stayed in that marriage", then you will realise that you don't get an extra medal for staying in a bad marriage.

Stella, my own rant no matter how you respect or show love or humble yourself,some men are dog. My own husband keeps hurting me all the time,cheat, infact "liar" like no other.This man made me a sit at home wife, just call me a mugu wife. The only thing that kept me all this while is God. I just want to be mean and wicked but i can't cos of the fear of God in me. I wonder why the good ones end but with bad husbands. Pardon my writing just that am so moody.

Rantings of a Sexually deprived "married" woman.
ReplyDeleteEverything written up there is true. It is a terrible situation in Lagos based on what officers on duty at the airports are beginning to discover during searches in female luggage. Wives of Clergy men are in it too. Sex toys ti take over but I also like the fact that suppressed women are owning up to the issues at hand by organizing church seminars and workshops within their circles to raise "sexually confident women". Some women don't know that 80% of nagging men do so because they getting insufficient sex from their wives. Some are irritated by the poor hygiene of women.
Men are failing in their marriages because if the aforementioned points, majority just pay domestic bills and hover around red light districts, they refuse to go home claiming the traffic jam is horrible thereby getting more "ashewo time" with their lady friends.
I've learnt over the years that it starts from No Family praying time. Women insist on having Morning Devotion with your family no matter how tight the mornings are, even if it is 15 mins. Lock your hubby into your marriage to be on a safer ground. Any man can fall to temptation and Nepa's no light at home has succeeded in keeping married men out of their homes. Let the word be the first foundation. Do the woman you are supposed to Do and he must SURELY come home.

Its an individual thing, it takes the fear of God 4 a man to stay faithful to one woman and unfortunately, 99% of Nigeria men do not have that fear of God. My husband killed the sexual aspect of my life, after marriage having sex became an issue, sometimes twice in a month or even once. He kept using work load as excuses until I gave up on sex. The worst part is that, 10mins is too much for him self, unless he is under the influence of alcohol. I have given up, its not food. My focus is on my kids and making my life better. I feel the writer's pain jor. Mine is only 11yRs. Take heart madam.

ReplyDeleteI think the bigger story here is the lack respect in what the marriage institution stands for. Men running around with young girls and ignoring responsibilities at home. Women, sometimes even without a lack of sex at home, running around with young and old boyfriend's.
ReplyDeleteTo me, it comes down to the values we hold as people. Be it based on the Christian, Muslim, or simply beliefs entrenched in you. Marriage becomes sacred. Husband, wife, focus on themselves. I have friends who yake sometime away every year to refresh themselves. This is why divorce is becoming rampant, people have cone to realise, well, I really dont have to do this.
