This morning I was studying about Joseph (Genesis 37-45) and I burst into tears. It's so amazing, Joseph's story.
How? How is it possible for a slave to become a governor?! It's impossible! But God made it possible. Wow. Wow. Wow!
Joseph would naturally have felt hopeless and helpless when he was sold into slavery. He was a dreamer before that, the beloved son of his father. Things were going so well until the worst happened.
Betrayed by the very people he trusted (his brothers), sold into slavery...where was ever the hope that his dreams would come to pass? How can it be?
As man Joseph could have lamented, "LORD, this wasn't the plan! This wasn't the dream you put in my heart!" but he didn't.
One thing Joseph did: he never stopped dreaming; he never stopped trusting his God ; he never gave up. Despite the fact that his situation was stark hopeless, he believed that God who put the dreams in his heart will bring it to pass.
And after several painful years of waiting and grooming, his dreams came true! Out of the impossible came the possible. Wow!
Many of us like Joseph are in our periods of pain, dryness, 'stagnancy'. We wonder, "How will it be? God has placed so much in my heart, how will it come to pass? Will it ever come to pass?"
The answer is YES! As long as God placed the dream there He will make it happen. You don't need to know how it will happen (it's not your business to know) but He will bring it into full manifestation.
All you need do is do what Joseph did: don't stop dreaming. Don't stop believing. Be good at what you do and do it well. Give it your best shot. You may not be where you dreamed you are supposed to be but you will get there.
Our trial periods prepare us for the great task God has ahead of us and you wouldn't want to be caught unprepared.
Remember this and think about it: it is, God who fulfils His purpose for your life. (Psalm 57:2)
Be Joseph. Dream on no matter how impossible it may seem. God will make it happen.
Don't stop dreaming.

Story of my life, another lesson we should also learn from Joseph is d fact that he didn't defile himself with portifah's wife even when he had the opportunity, while we re in d waiting room,we should try not to defile the temple of God,it is difficult but in the end,we would be more than conquerors, and we should also be careful of who we share our dreams with, beware of dream killers, God bless us all and meet us at the points of our needs IJN.am blessed by this word, thanks Stells n poster
ReplyDeleteI concur. While waiting Joseph was upright. Let's ask God 2 give us the strength 2 be upright because by our strength we can't.
DeleteThat's why I said it is difficult, it takes the grace of God to be upright, temptations are real!but God is faithful
