Here is the update and I'm going to start from the beginning of the story according my brother and his friends, endeavour to read to end and please ignore jumbled words and gbagauns it's been a long day for my family.
They took a bike(Okada) after the burial to Buguma park to take a bus to Port Harcourt. When they got there they gave the okada rider 500naira to give them change, the man said he didn't have change and they should look for change themselves, they started arguing if they are the ones who should look for change for him then the person in charge of loading buses at the park came and wanted to slap one of them, they started asking him what did they do that he will just come to slap them, he didn't even ask the story he just took his phone and called the police that "cultists have come from Port Harcourt to cause trouble" immediately the police came to the park with their Hilux and rusted cutlass and started flogging them from the park, pulled their trousers, handcuffed them, threw them on the floor of their Hilux and drove off, when they got to their station they came down and started shooting bullets in the air and displaying, they beat them and sent them to the anti-cultism police in port harcourt....
They asked them to write statements which they did but it was torn and they were tortured and forced by the IPO Alex to sign statement written by the police which said they were cultists and they refused but one of the boys with my brother who he said they know from school, Franklin Ordu later confessed to being a cultist after all the beatings.
My brother said they saw lots of people there, there was even a 13year old boy there they took from Buguma to Port Harcourt and they haven't contacted his parents for 2 weeks, he couldn't get his name but he said they call him "small", another guy came to the station to make enquiry of someone that was arrested and they also grabbed him and threw him inside cell too because he had tattoo and was on dreadlocks. There were others there who haven't contacted their parents for 3 months and they all have the same story of being picked up for nothing by these monsters...
When we went there this morning, we weren't even allowed to go in with our phones, the investigating Police Officer in charge of the case, one Alex (I couldn't get the surname but he said he's from Benin) had already started scaring my dad to give them 20,000 or they would send my Brother's name to the school authorities and he would be rusticated, my dad had to drop 20,000 first then they asked us to come back on Thursday, they were not even saying anything about the 150,000 again, they were just scaring us so as to increase the money. I had to leave the station, then I sent the mail to Madam Stella and not too long after she posted and calls started coming in. One Emeka sent me his Uncle's number who is the First PRO in Lagos, I called and explained to him, he said he had to talk to an officer there to get some information to know what step to take next. To even talk to someone in charge was an issue, one inspector Godwin Miima told me to give him 2,000 to allow me take my phone inside to speak with the person in charge, which I did, when I went in, I was told the OC (main person in charge wasn't around) , was directed to the second person (the 2 IC) this man was lying that my brother has already confessed to being a cultist and he can't speak with anybody and I should come back tomorrow to meet the OC.
I met the IPO Alex. he told me same that he is not competent to receive calls and left, it was already evening and my dad had already gone back home crying that my brother will spend more days in the cell, I had to call him to come back and not lose hope yet.
I went to the Ministry of Justice at the state Secretariat where I serve, it's close to the SOS police station where my brother and his friends were. I met my boss, the State Solicitor-General, I complained to her and she sent me to the DPP (public prosecutor) who I was trying to explain to but he didn't even want to hear any of it, they are already criminals in his eyes, I even met the same Alex who is the IPO and he was shouting at me saying he has already spoken to my dad, and in his words "what am I, (a woman) still doing running about, that I am going to complicate matters, that they will take them to court on Thursday and if they court finds them not guilty they will be acquitted.

I had to leave that office seeing that I won't get any help from there as they are the prosecutors of the state. If not for God who did his work through this blog, I don't know what would have been our story, my brother said even when the man in charge(OC) of the anti cult unit saw him and his 3 friends, he asked the other officers "this ones too do they look like cultists to you?? " yet they refused to release them.
For those wondering why I didn't go and seek for bail on his behalf since I'm a lawyer, we were told that cult suspects are not given bail and if we tried to tow that lane, my brother will remain there until a judge decides to hear the matter and who knows when that will be?? . Also there is this known rift between lawyers and the police, I went there on my black and white and they were acting so aggressive to me, moving me up and down and to crown it all, I'm a woman(smallish sef) one even said what am I still moving up and down when they have already talked to my dad. My dear, you won't know how it feels until these monsters get you...moving on...
I received lots of calls today, a lady whose Uncle is the ICC Chairman of Buguma called me and also forwarded to her uncle and she kept calling until we were able to learn that they have been released. even international numbers were calling and forwarding the story to their contacts, A deputy Commissioner from another state called too. The message was forwarded to the commissioner of Police in Rivers State. We had already left there as it was dark, with the plan of going back there tomorrow morning when we got a call from my brother that they've been released.

The power of social media!!!! I won't ever underestimate it.
I just want that say a big thank you to you Mrs Korkus and your kind hearted blog visitors who swung into action to help my family. God will bless you all richly, my dad also extends his thanks to you all, in his words "that is why it's good to go to school".
Please I want to also plead with you to help us see how we can bring these power drunk monsters to book and get freedom and if possible, justice, for all those who have been taken away from their homes and family without any proof, especially that 13YEAR OLD BOY taken from his home in Buguma and brought to Port Harcourt. we all know Rivers State is not safe but going around and hijacking helpless young men because of the way they dress or look and keeping them for months without informing their parents isn't the proper way to show that they are working, from what I've seen and heard today, we all in Rivers State are not safe at all and these are same people who are supposed to protect us.
For those who asked for my twitter, it is @MamaKay. I just reactivated it tonight after so long and will post the story there let us get it trending to hasten the release of the others behind bars, my brother has been released but I won't stop there because there are other innocents like him there who have no one to help them.
I attached pictures of my brother and his friends and the injuries 2 of them sustained on their back from the beatings(PS, he said if the injury leaves mark on their back and it's seen by any police man, they will call them cultist because of the scar as that is one of their signs). The young man on shorts is the one who's grand mother's burial they went for, him and the one on black shirt and trouser are limping but in all, we thank God they are back home with their family.
Thank you all once again, longlive SDK!!!.
Peace Asoka, for the Jumbo family.
God bless everyone who helped free these boys....They seem to be in shock from these photos but they will be fine.
Thanks to God Who made it possible

Am sure this will teach him a lesson sha.
Delete@lovemaking jeje... Such a silly, myopic and ignorant statement from you. It just reeks of your illiteracy

ReplyDeletePolice man go see white he go tell you say naa red. Very corrupt people I hate them.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone who intervened.
ReplyDeleteThank God for everything, Stella thank God for who you are to us.
ReplyDeleteLet God be praised.
I keep imagining if it were my brothers, I shiver at the thought. God forbid.
Thank you Jesus,Thank You.
So young boys can't dress or cut the kind of hair styles they like again cause of not mistaken to be a cultise. This are nt the problem nigeria police is suppose to b pursuing there re other pressing issues and I think it's high time the govt make available jobs opportunities like part time jobs for student sef so crimes among the young ones can reduce a bit because for those cultise I think last of finance is what pushes some of them into such mess. I thank God for ur brother and friends that justice prevail.sdk blog rocks so much.
ReplyDelete*lack
DeleteIf you want to dress and move like touts in America, then travel to US. If you are sagging, have tattoos, wear braids and earrings -- the same style police in US use to profile criminals, then you deserve all the arrests that come your way. We need more police.
DeleteThank God
ReplyDeleteI thank all those contributed in release them,God bless
Strange things are happening
Missylynn
Thanks be to God.
ReplyDeleteGod bless all the kind hearted BV's.
This country is really messed up. God help us all
thank God for their release, God bless all those that in one way or the other made it possible, biko is it even legal to put a 13years old boy behind bars? only God knows what he must have gone through there, please he should be released quickly before he gets corrupted even more... I really wish we have correction centers for kids when they misbehave cause cell is a no no for them...

ReplyDeleteThankGod for their safe return back home
ReplyDeleteNigeria na wa
SDKB be helping people since 1900.
ReplyDeleteThank God it was not worse than this.
I leave those ineffectual baboons to karma.
Kai veryyy sad one! Police is your friend indeed!!! Mscheeeew.I no longer under estimate the power of social media oo! Thanks to God
ReplyDeleteIt happens everywhere, police in Nigeria are demons in uniform. Thank God there are some good ones in the system. The most painful part is that no officer will go down for the atrocities committed. Imagine forcing someone to make a statement that he is cultist, then later we will see him in crime fighter and he will be asked after false confession, "How do you feel now"
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, thank God they have been released. We've got to tred carefully.
ReplyDeleteThanks God for their safety.
ReplyDeleteJust read about 6 siblings that were poisoned and buried on 5th November.
Wicked world. May there souls RIP
Thank God...Dear Stella may the Almighty God protect and continue to bless you and your family....You are indeed a blessing to our generation....
ReplyDeleteThank God they r released.
ReplyDeleteI'm just in tears.... may God have mercy on us all

ReplyDeleteNawa.. Thank God for this, Stella Imeke oooo. Police have harassed me severally in the past one month, I now go about with my ID card cause the first thing they ask is to go through your phone to know if you're a G boy or not. Then they start by asking you if you've been involved in armed robbery and kidnapping before and other related crimes, guys please go about with your ID cards, it's important.
ReplyDeleteFinally, Abeg when they stop you, don't drag with any of them, be as calm as you can cause if you do any how, they just might shoot you cause some of them are trigger freaks.
Nigerian police ehh... Thank God for their release o, it could have been worse
ReplyDeleteThank you Jesus.
ReplyDeletePeace you are a strong woman
All thanks to God for their safe release!!!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness this ended the way it did and it has. But this brings a sad reality into our consciousness. This isn't a one of its kind incident, this is a norm with our Nigerian Police Force, I remember a joke I once shared with someone who said, he wanted to brush his teeth, got to the bathroom remembered there was no paste, took money from his wallet stepped outside in his boxers and a Singled and didn't return until after 3 months. Nobody knew his whereabouts, no one knew what to make of his disappearance. He was walking on a street around 7am and got whisked away the Police. it was only after he got to their station they sized him up, asked him to bail himself (someone wearing a boxer without a pocket/this before the days of ATM ) he couldn't, they threw him into jail/prison.
ReplyDeleteOur Police Force needs re-orientation. one shouldn't feel more secured with a hired private security (Oyanbo) than the Countries' very own security agency.
Thank God, for their release..

There's an urgent need for re- orientation of our Police Force.
Stella God bless you, that's all I can say for now!
ReplyDeleteNa wa o!
ReplyDeleteNigerian police knows the real cultists but are protecting them .They ane busy arresting these innocent young boys.
Thank God for their release. They should try to stay out of trouble because they might not be this lucky next time.
ReplyDeleteVery terrible a 13years old boy in detention, Hmmmmm terrible
ReplyDeletePolice officers are monsters, it should be scrap
Bloody officers roaming around like demons
ReplyDeleteMc pinky
thank God for their lives
ReplyDeleteAm in shock on their behalf, i can't imagine what they have gone through. Stella if not that you posted i wonder what would have happened to these boys.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it so hard for these men to do their jobs diligently, what do they stand to gain? This is so wrong.
To everyone that responded and helped thank you sooo much, am grateful on their behalf.
God no member of my family will fall into such situations abeg.
Thank God they are back safe and sound. Until we rid ourselves of power-hungry drive and learn to be our brothers' keeper we won't progress in this country. Anywhere we find ourselves in power we abuse it to the detriment of others. I wonder how these people sleep at night?? God help us all. Thank God for you and your brother my dear. It is well
ReplyDeleteWow this brought tears to my eyes, tnk God.

ReplyDeleteGod how I despise our nig police, useless ppl. That was how they arrested my bro, he was to lock the gate as it was already 10pm, he decided to pee outside before locking up, only for the police to wisk him aware, accusing him of loitering, how can one loiter in their own house, we paid 25k the next day to bail him.
ReplyDeleteThank God no life was lost
This harassment need to stop!
#saynotopolicebrutality#
Dear Stella and Mrs Mamakay,
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate this platform and this particular Story. It happened to my only brother too. I was weak, confused and couldn't do anything but pray. Truly, POLICE IS NOBODY'S FRIEND. They will torture you to the extent that you will believe what they say about you. My brother was just 16yrs and this happened around March at Their Task Force Office in Ikeja. I can't even type the story because if=t bring back bad memories of young innocent people suffering for no good reason IN THEIR CELL. Why will the POLICE leave the culprit to molest and injure innocent citizens.
Funny enough, they know that you are innocent.
crying........................NIGERIA POLICE NEED TO BE PURGED.
Thank God it ended well, God bless you stella for using your platform to help a lot of people, and to those bvs that helped, God bless you all. My hatred for 9ja police just tripled.
ReplyDeleteThe Nigeria Police Force is like the Black plague!! Try as much as possible to avoid them, the way the reason is just too terrible. And they won't hesitate to kill off their victim(s)
ReplyDeleteThank God your brother is free at last!!
ReplyDeleteBut a few things need to be pointed out here from your own write up
There are still good pokce officers and relations of good police officers like the ppro a BC gave you his number, just the same as those wicked police officers we so much hate have relations even among our bvs here, some of whom have shown so much wickedness here.
There are also bad lawyers kile the one you met at the moj who didn't want to hear from you
What of the people at the park who knowing that branding them cultists would put them in trouble and make them lose the balance of their transport fare. Let the truth be told, the greatest menace in pH and rivers state generally are cultists and many students there are truly cultists. Today, age is no barrier to culitsm, this I know. These adult, student and children cultists, whose relations are they? Some if us hear.
Some of the police officers nay have acted in bad light but they may also have known some tell tale features of cultists so the poster should as well push for those who gave police the information to be arrested for false information.
Finally every one should continuously pray to God that 'ihe n'imaghi, amana gi'
Well said. The brother might even be a cultist after all. How does she know that he is not. Is it written on the face? Looks and mien could be deceiving. They probably threatened the park people. Forget the way she is painting her brother as innocent bc she is carried away by emotions.
DeleteStella you are Bea. God bless you richly.😘
ReplyDeleteA 13yrs old in cell?what the hell is he doing there?these police people are bastards and should be sacked immediately.i soooo hate them with great passion that whenever i see any of them,i feel like killing them.anyway thank God the boys have been released and are back home.
ReplyDeleteA 13year old boy???? I can't even begin to imagine the kind of molestation he could be getting there. He is still a minor for Pete's sake! He shouldn't be in a cell!. Some Nigerian police are just useless, they can arrest anyhow eh. I don't know the point they are trying to prove sef. They haven't even contacted his parents. His parents must have been looking for him for a long time now. They must be worried sick.
ReplyDeleteThank God.. .When will this country move forward.
ReplyDeleteThank God
ReplyDeleteThank u Jesus for saving ur ppl. And thanks to the kind hearted ppl that made this happen.God bless all of u
ReplyDeleteThank u Jesus for saving ur ppl. And thanks to the kind hearted ppl that made this happen.God bless all of u
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteThe Nigerian police are the most lawless and meanest set of people on earth. I just thankGod that the poster's brother and friends are back home.
ReplyDeleteThankyou SDK. I hope that the remaining and particularly that 13yr old boy will be set free soon.
Eeyah! So your daddy said "that is why its good to go to school" ouch.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm saying "that is why its good to be a bv" #in your daddy's voice#
I've always known this blog is a life saver being a beneficiary
#Don't lose hope. Use challenges to find inner strength*
ReplyDeleteTo God be thy glory. I was actually shedding tears while reading this you may not know the reason but if you have had an encounter with those in force(uniform) and you are helpless you will understand me.I have had an experience.
ReplyDeleteBut dis should serve as a lesson to young boys in PH to dress responsibly, cut their hairs well and keep good friends.
Godwin Alex
I remember Aluu 4. THAT TOWN IS EVIL!!!
ReplyDeleteThank God your brother has regained his freedom.
ReplyDeleteWhy are Nigerian police heartless and difficult to deal with?
I hope others in their den finds help too.
Please, you all should beware of these criminals in uniform.
Thank God they are back home and safe. Please take your dad for check-up oo. BP go don rise.
ReplyDeleteThank God they are out and back home. Please take your dad for check up, BP go don rise
ReplyDeleteThank God for your family, your brother and his friends. The question continues to be, which way Nigeria? The power of the pen (mouse) , the power of unity, the power of literacy! If we harness these power well, the youths can ouster these bloodthirsty old leaders.
ReplyDeleteThank God they've been released! Thank God you were able to get help in time.
ReplyDeleteOn one part, I've been so happy since last night for the release of my younger brother. On the other part I feel so broken for the innocent ones who have no way to cry for help. Please let us all be their voice, especially the 13yr old little boy.
ReplyDeleteStella I thank God for u everyday, I got to knw about your blog during AY saga. Hahahahaha yes controversial saga. Please do you thank God for wisdom? Please do. U got dear I love u even more now.
ReplyDeleteNigerian police, it is well with Nigerian citizens. Thank God for these boys and thanks to all the people that reached out to them. May the almighty God reward you abundantly
ReplyDeleteWow, God bless y'all for lending a helping hand. It is serious what we read and see everyday in naija. It is well with you guys.
ReplyDeleteWarn your brother about the company he keeps. For agbero to call police for their heads, they must have acted in some type of way.
ReplyDeleteThroughout reading the whole story. I kept asking myself....can I care for my Bro like thus? ??
ReplyDelete
