    1. I support that it should be scrapped. It's an avenue for some fat fools to make money. The funds allocated to the camps are embezzled.

  10. This is the state of most NYSC camp in Nigeria, nothing to write home about. I wonder what the fg is doing.
Poster I would advice you not to use that bathroom there. Wake-up very early and shower outside if it's possible, always use an antiseptic liquid. As for toilet make sure you don't use that bacteria infested rubbish there, just get enough black polythene bag and do shot put. If you have money, please try and eat from mammy at least their food is better, that was wat I did.

I had to take antibiotics immediately I left camp.

  21. Someone should please justify why this NYSC nonsense must continue.
NYSC has outlived it's purpose!! It should be SCRAPPED as a matter of urgency!
They can't even properly fund the scheme again.
How many graduates still awaiting their call-up to the so called Orientation Camps and they end up in these filth.

    ReplyDelete
  22. We have been saying it but some of you romanticise this NYSC thing..NYSC is no longer fit for purpose. either.scrap it or make it optional

  23. I served at Enugu State. Where we slept was formerly a bread oven. A big metal box. The heat tried to bake us every single day. There was a toilet, but you could only use it if you had a dead wish. We use to bath outside and practice tie & throw every morning😢. I tried using the bathroom just ones, and I almost peeled my skin off due to too much scratching. The whole environment was just so dirty & I don't even want to talk about the food. But I survived.
Dear Poster, stop complaining and focus on the things that make you happy there. You're supposed to be making friends, acquiring Knowledge and having fun. Complaining is NOT gonna change anything. Learn to make the best out of any opportunities you get in life. Good luck.

  24. They even have a toilet and they are complaining? Gombe NYSC camp(Mallam sidi Seconary school to be precise) was worse. No windows, no floor, just walls, and to make it worse it was during harmattan period,na so u go lie down untop your bed dey endure the cold till day break.
No toilet, just just some woven grass used as a fence that we called bathroom, na inside bush we dey "shot-put" o.
Wetin person dey see in the name of serving your motherland mouth no fit talk am o

  25. IDP camps are still better than this o. Kai in the name of under the sun or in the rain, with dedication and selflessness, Nigeria is ours and Nigeria we serve. Hmm state government can do better than this and wait for federal.

  29. And Borno State has a Nysc state coordinator, camp commandant and state governor, are they stupid, blind or sleeping?

  30. My Igbo people shouldn't be allowing their kids to serve in the North because the Hausas do not post their girls to the East. Everyone should serve in their state or neighbouring states.

The worst part of it - when you go there the majority are mostly from SOuth or East.

Wicked NYSC Officials, wicked state governors.

    ReplyDelete
  31. If na me dem post come here I go postpone service o till next year cos the fear of boko haram is the beginning of wisdom..chai.abeg nobi Chibok dem kidnap dos girls? Naim people buy mind go camp there.chai I'm scared for them ooo.oh lord protect them ooo

  32. God forbid o, thank God I've served.
Kubwa Camp is even better though I used leather to poop. God forbid I put my button in the toilet there.
Stayed in that bakassi hostel with 1billion other people.

If nysc cannot be maintained, let it be scrapped. This is so unfair.
The essence of the nysc is even not met again as ppl work their service.

I knew that if I was posted to the north east, I would've deferred my service year o.

  33. Nawa o Nigeria really need GOD's help.

  35. It will amaze us to know that some of these renovation projects are ticked as completed projects on the federal Government's desk. But the contractors and NYSC top officials have not executed it. Funds could have been diverted. Very sad

  36. We've heard recently how the female Corp members were given matresses infested with bugs and when the news went viral, the female mattresses were fumigated but minutes later, bugs were still being killed. And as I'm writing, one was just killed close to me. While the male corpers are made to sleep in classrooms on the floor with no windows.
In addition, there's no bathroom or toilet for the ladies and the make shift toilet made available for them is a weak soak away pit with a hole made in it. That's not all, the females have to wake up as early as 3 o'clock in the morning to have their bath or forget about being neat and prim that day.
Further more, although there's power supply, there's no sockets with which to charge, making the corp members use their monies to charge.
Just two days ago, I heard that a female corper went to the clinic to complain about menstrual pain and she was given tramol 50mg which only made it worse. Not only that there's little or no drugs in the clinic.
As I write, a seminar is being held but the make shift hall is not enough while the 'late' corpers are either standing or seated under the sun.
You might think my own is too much right? But let me tell you that the Deputy governor of Bauchi came unannounced just yesterday to see if what is being circulated in the media was true, he left angrily after seeing the condition the corp members were subjected to. He gave an ultimatum for the officials to either renovate in three days or relocate the corp members. Not only that, he was angry because not only did the Borno government finance the scheme but also the Bauchi state government.
The height of it all now is that the Camp director told the corp members that they were to open two accounts; one (access bank) for the bicycle and feeding allowance #2,500 and the other for the allowee. You might think this is no big deal but seriously, there's no ATM machine on camp and then we'll have to collect a compulsory #1,050 for ATM card plus minimum balance of #1,000. This is preposterous because corp members have put their hope on cash at hand and it's tantamount to being robbed off of their money. Not only that First Bank has asked for a deposit of #2,000 , while Fidelity has asked for a deposit of #1,000 for the account for allowee to be activated. That is removing or reducing from their cash at hand.
It was clearly stated on the green card that the bicycle and feeding will be given to them on camp and not transferred to their accounts. And when the corpers complained, the camp director said that it was NYSC AND CBN POLICY to pay directly to accounts when Abuja and Lagos States have since been paid cash on Monday.
To all concerned bodies, most especially the president of Nigeria who's bent on fighting corruption, I implore you to REALLY LOOK INTO THE MATTER!!!
    OR ELSE, ALUTA CONTINUA
    VICTORIA ASERTA...
