God is good.

DeleteIn Lagos the best bet is to employ a good driver else you bow to stress related ailments.Due to addition,I employed a second house keeper, a younger one and my Mum in law has been around since June even in my absence, she leaves next weekend which spells wahala and more stress for me.
If you have a good rapport with your employers you work a favourable working plan, today I worked for few hours, had to be in my kiddies school for a programme. And I'll be getting 6 last Fridays free for now so tomorrow I will be home.
There's no shortcut to greatness. We balance it out while keeping our eyes on The Digits. If not you would not be able to give your kids the Quality life your parents gave you which could be painful. I breads feed intermittently at night and will still rise at 5:30 when alarm goes off for morning devotion. Terrible routine.
Women run in special multi tasking software.

ReplyDeleteBeyoncรฉ's hands for all our working-class mothers.
As in eh!
ReplyDeleteInitially I found it very difficult to cope.
My mum and elder sis them always said don't worry, you will get used to it. It's still tiring joor.
The waking early is still a problem to me maybe because some nights I wake around 1am and may never sleep back till like 4am. When day breaks is when I wanna sleep.
Mothers are awesome people...
ReplyDeleteStress has finished me with no househelp. But thank God I have control over my time.

ReplyDeleteI live in England and having worked for over 10years, I tell anyone who cares to listen that motherhood is the toughest job I've ever done in my life! Can't wait to go back to work after maternity leave.
ReplyDeleteI'm the cook, cleaner, PA, poo packer etc and still must make time to be a wife! Na wa but nothing we women cannot handle!
Shoutout to all my super women out there Biko
It really isn't easy, I'm just 2 years into it and sometimes I want to go on a looong vacation and don't come back.
ReplyDeleteMy baby will be starting school next January, school runs will now add to my stress *phew* yet at the end of the day when I want some loving from my hubby, all I hear is "I'm tired" we shag not more than 5times every month, sometimes it's less, like this month it's been just twice. Sigh...
Yay first!!
Motherhood is really tough,i didnt feel it much when i was in Naija cos i had a househelp, but this America na on your own oo.My daughter keeps me on my feet all day, wonder what will happen when another baby comes..
ReplyDeleteIts women in Lagos I pity most. With all that traffic, waking up early & coming back tired, cook & still do conjugal duties...una well done oh.May all my fellow BVs in the waiting room have this beautiful experience next year by his grace.
ReplyDeletenot easy oh...i have twin girls who just clocked 2 and they keep me on my toes like crazy....luckily i live close to work and a govt worker so dnt leave home till about 8am. got a ward who lives with and a nanny who comes in daily so that helps but when i come back from work its mummy this mummy that..i cant leave everything to others cos u gotta watch out for your kids and observe them too. spend time with them so u can teach the right things and make corrections where necessary..my hubby helps as often as he can but truth be told, we mothers do the bulk of the work
