End Child Marriage in Nigeria Program Launched -Photos

Vice President, Prof. Osinbajo launched The National Strategy Document To End Child Marriage in Nigeria 2016 - 2021 recently.

Waste of monies to launch and print booklets...After a while you dont hear anything of these Programmes anymore.
I hope this one will see the light of the day!

  1. Child marriage and Sharia Law goes hand in hand. As long as Sharia Law still exists, then child marriage will continue. In Sharia Law/Muslim Law, as soon as a girl starts her menstruation, she is ripe for marriage. If she starts seeing her period by 10, 11 or 12 years old, she has become a woman, she is ripe for marriage.
This is why the Northern region should be cut away from the whole of Nigeria. They won't allow some of these laws to work.

    1. I am seething with anger. Like every other initiative, this one wouldn't see the light of day Stella.
Ask the commission to fund community outreach where poor families in rural areas can be properly educated about the dangers of giving out their girls young and highlighting the benefits of letting these girls pursue scholarships and free skill acquisition programmes that will be beneficial to the family because the apogee of the matter is poverty..but neh, they'd rather spend it on elaborate launches.

  4. Had a dream about our VP last night till the early hours of this morning. I woke up some minutes ago, did one or two things and on opening this blog, his story was the first post I saw. Biko, make that dream come to actualisation fast fast, lol.

Enjoy your day, all and hopefully this project will be sustained.

  11. Stella how could you say that?let's always confess positive things, in the history of Nigeria, no government has come up with such campaign because of fear of the powers that be cos they re the ones found guilty of the girl child marriage, let's join hands to encourage these program and make sure there is continuity

  14. Stella you are correct waste of money indeed.

This our VP atimes eh, the man is mostly embarking on wrong/dead-on-arrival project(s). As they're doing this, they're busy giving out their small girls out for marriage till tomorrow. Why didn't Buhari championed it? VP you dey fall hand big time.
Radio stations in Northern Nigeria are still functioning, some'll go there to rubbish this project before it leaves Aso Rock. Na today!

  15. Why is it the VP that went for this? it would have been effective if the President has lent his voice/presence there. the President and even his wife were both absent at this function and you think it will be effective? Stella na true you talk, na real waste of time. The northerners are the people involved in child marriages, the presence of the President would have made this carry weight. Now they would just see it as Infidels critising them....real waste of time, resources and energy.
