Two Year-Old Girl Dies in Hot Car While Mom Worked

Authorities are investigating the death of a 2-year-old girl who was left in a hot car for nearly nine hours after her mother went to work at a North Carolina VA Medical Center.

The Salisbury Post reports...... police said the mother went to work in Salisbury, about 42 miles northeast of Charlotte, around 7:55 a.m. Thursday, leaving the child in a car seat. A passer-by discovered the child at 4:37 p.m. The car had been parked in the sun and the windows were rolled up.

Officials said a VA police officer broke a window to get into the car. Despite attempts to resuscitate the girl, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
No identities have been released. Salisbury Police Capt. Shelia Lingle said investigators will talk to the district attorney's office to determine how to proceed.

    1. It's stress oh! Mental stress. My inlaws friend did it in ph 2 years ago. Workaholic guy left his baby in the car seat. He remembered during lunch time but by then the child had died of suffocation. He was more concerned about his job that he forgot to drop her off at the baby sitters on his way to work. I don't know if the wife has moved back in. But she had been TTC for like 5 years and then..... She just walked out of the marriage.

  13. Eeiyah....please let's not blame her, she probably couldn't afford a nanny and had no nice friends to baby sit for her while at work, at least she has a job and is trying her best, the odds were just against her.

    Better than living on welfare.

    1. Thank you for this comment Dauntless cersei, their system over there is so bad and poor, unlike here in Nigeria where you can call a relative, friend or even neibough to help you look after your child. Preschool is very expensive there the cheapest is about $900except the child is 5 years and above that's when free school starts.
