Oshiomhole Suspends Onojie of Uromi For Assaulting a Woman

Traditional ruler of Uromi, His Royal Highness Anselm Okojie, Aidenojie II, the Onojie of Uromi, has been suspended for seven days by the Edo State Government.

The Onojie of Uromi was suspended for allegedly assaulting a married woman, one Mrs. Betty Okoebor and traveling outside the country without getting appropriate permission.
This was contained in a letter signed by Secretary to the State Government, Prof Julius Ihonvbere and dated October 26, 2016.
It said the refusal of the Onojie to respond to a query issued by the appropriate authority within the stipulated 72 hours demonstrating total disregard and disrespect for constituted authority.
The letter said the suspended Onojie demonstrated disregard for extant regulations and laws by travelling outside the country without appropriate permission.
It reads in parts, “Your unprovoked attack, inflicting grievous bodily harm on one Mrs Betty Okoebor on September 28, 2016 in full public glare to the embarrassment of those present and causing disgrace to your otherwise esteemed office.

  1. Even he didn't attend the coronation of the oba. I never knew a king had to take premission from the state government before travelling out. Hmmmm we learn things every day.

    1. Can you be a king without staff of office? Who issues the staff and requisite document.
Even at that, does tradition empower a king to beat whomsoever he wants whenever, wherever and however? You don't want to obey the law that set you up yet you want government to pay you monthly.
People just talk like fools because they prefer evil over good

  5. I don't know how some men find it easy to hit women, it is a despicable act. You hit a lady you know you are stronger than because you know she will no retaliate, so distasteful.

Imagine a so called king assaulting someone. This is the type of people that say that when they die, one innocent less placed human be buried with them, not their child oo

  10. Oshnimole should lead by example by also suspending himself as a governor for seven days.We can still remember how he verbally assaulted a helpless widow in the now infamous go and die video

    1. Oshiomole didn't assault, which is a crime, but insulted, which is not a crime. Yet he apologised and restituted. Do we have to talk just to show hatred for whom we don't like or we talk to propagate justice?

  15. ok, so we are all so quick to believe this oshiomole now let me tell it as it is so far ....
1,Uromi and most Esan villages are PDP supporters and so therfore that hurts the APC campaignor victory in the state(vulture please take a step back, thank you).
2,Now on the day of the election the Onojie of Uromi went to cast his vote and betty ran up to him and started shouting that he has come again to campaign for PDP and wont stop the harrassment and even went ahead to start clapping in his face with his guards present.
3,The guards and himself, in a bid to get her out of their sight hit her,(very wrong) but (if na u nko).
4,No sane person has mind to go close to their "king"and be shouting and clapping trying to provoke him, except you have been planted or paid to do so.
5,The onojie cursed the lady that she can't be accepted anywhere, not by her home/family so basically she's become a wonderer as nobody will accept her.

In my humble opinion,Oshiomole is trying to divert attention from his current crises, which is the fact that discrepancies were found in the electoral materials after investigation and that now the APC secretariat has been closed for a week (to prevent further discoveries?)...I believe he's doing this to just keep these people busy until hand over time which is in about 2 weeks.

That been said, even if the onojie of uromi is deposed his succesor is hs son so it doesn't make sense to do that.
Also there are processes and procedures and traditional rulers and courts who take care of such problems if a complaint is brought before them so it been Oshiomole seizing the day to do what doesnt concern him is very silly.

  16. Hyprocrites, when oshiomole harassed a widow on the street, was he suspended? . Should the onoije take permission from him when he travels?, or is that how he takes permission when he squanders our money?. Honestly all this are just ways to punish the onoije, just because he didn't get strong support from him during APC governorship political rally... Honestly am irritated by politics in Nigeria
