Instead of slashing the Numbers, why does the Federal government not cancel the NYSC scheme? It is presently a waste of money and time and most of these Students do not even return home from their duty posts because they are sent to 'sensitive' spots to teach...
The NYSC scheme has been derailed and all messed up.
What do you think?

This NYSC should be scrapped. I really do not see the need for it.
ReplyDeleteSince uwa
DeleteI met dear hubby during NYSC in mkd, Benue State, we were both corners @d time n He's d best tn dat has happened to me. So Yes, I say No to scraping d scheme
Delete*corpers
DeleteNawaooo
ReplyDeleteThe more you look, the less you see. They should just put an end to this scheme.
ReplyDeleteImagine from 2000 plus to only 898. APC government shame on una
It's not just derailed
ReplyDeleteIt's fucked up
They just don't know how frustrated people are
And it's really really unfair and unfortunate
You won't believe some people have been home for 2 years, some a year, others over 6 months
Some people have been forced to go and enroll in their masters programme
Hopes dashed
Dreams crushed
Aspirations shattered
Destinies changed
Errm no school in naija will enrol u for masters without snd nysc dischargr or exemption certificate
DeleteErrm no school in naija will enrol u for masters without snd nysc dischargr or exemption certificate
DeleteAnd it did not occur to you that if the scheme is scrapped, then they won't ask for it anymore?
DeleteI support scrapping abeg.. NYSC has lost its value. Mtsheeew
ReplyDeleteSlash what Stella? Take time o.
ReplyDeleteLet me wear my own khaki first o
Abi o. I support you jare.
DeleteWhat happens to others that will be left behind????
ReplyDeleteNysc is claiming they can't accommodate all students from each university due to tight budgetary allocation
ReplyDeleteMy question is , didn't they prepare for this
If they know they can't continue funding the scheme
They should please scrap it
After all the number of years they helped poor children waste in school over Asuu strike
Now this
How condescending
I swear down. I'm so upset.
DeleteIts time they scrapped the program.it has lost its essence, or perhaps,it should be made optional
ReplyDeletei totally agree with you... it is a complete waste of time..de shud slash senate allowances instead of dis... nawa for naija
ReplyDeleteGod bless you
Deleteinfact buhari salary should be slashed
They should cancel it Biko.....is long overdue
ReplyDeleteIt should be cancelled abeg nonsense scheme. I can't wait 4 march 2 pass out.
ReplyDeleteIt should be cancelled abeg nonsense scheme. I can't wait 4 march 2 pass out.
ReplyDeleteI bet you, this FG doesn't want people to move forward, first it was the pass marks in school, second is the UTME school choice thing,Third us the new waec and UTME screening before admission and now it the NYSC. They know there isn't much opportunity out there so the FG thinks " if they don't gain admission quick, or graduate at the right time or even serve early they will not complain about not being employed". They should just cancel the NYSC stuff, and stop wasting our time. Am tired of staying at home joo......
ReplyDeleteThat's what we get when we have a semi illiterate as president
DeleteEnd time scheme
ReplyDeleteNot to sound like a broken record but the present government is to be blamed. It has never been this bad. Their economic policies are so bad that they have destroyed everything that had been good previously. I support that the scheme should be scrapped because its value has been lost, Nigerians are still as tribalistic as ever and there is no sense of belonging among Nigerians. What will happen to those who are not picked for the scheme? Will they be excused of providing certificate of employment when seeking employment? The country is messed up.
ReplyDelete*I intend to live forever*
Good to know
ReplyDeleteI dunno Stella, I dunno why they subject people to such torture. So many people finished school years ago but can't work because employers now prefer NYSC certificate to BSC cert. If you haven't served, you can't be gainfully employed, yet FG and schools won't work towards people serving immediately. It's such a shame.
DeleteI agree with you a 100%, NYSC is a total waste of time and resources, even the so called SAED they initiated to curb unemployment isn't effective anymore, they employ half-baked trainers to teach rubbish cos they cannot afford very experienced and skillful ones. I learnt so many skills during my service year but not through SAED/NYSC.
ReplyDeleteStella if it is cancelled, what will happen to the thousands of people working under NYSC, they ll become jobless or what? I just think the programme should be arranged to a mandatory skill acquisition programme for one year where they are taught different kind of vocational skills. My 2 kobo
ReplyDeleteThe very best comment so far. I million likes for this comment.
DeleteInstead of subjecting the youths to years of job hunting, NYSC should be a year of training in different skills, including farming. At the end,the participants should come up with proposals and grants will be given to them for start up.
DeleteRegulation will be easy because during NYSC everybody have an account and there is no selection or sentiments.
Stella u right, they should scrap it. Nysc is waste of time and money. We wey do for the past 3years never see job sef.
ReplyDeleteYou can imagine rubbish...........Scheme that has a long time ago achieved the aim establishing it in the 70s; and ought to have been abolished but gullible and self-centered idiots up there wouldn't let it because of their selfish gain.
ReplyDeleteI tire for this administration abeg.
NYSC service year should also be reduced to 6month.
ReplyDeleteYour comment will be visible after approval.
make it optional.....yes
ReplyDeleteI just wish they will scrap this scheme and give me my certificate.
ReplyDeleteQuickie did you make your school's list?
Yes darling. I did.

ReplyDeleteBastards! Why don't they slash their huge salaries and allowances? What would happen to those whose names will be slashed out? No one employs you without a NYSC discharge certificate.
ReplyDeleteI hate this country mehn
Buhari and his team are a bunch of failure!.. They are incapable!.....
ReplyDeleteYesoooh I totally agree with you!
ReplyDeleteYep I totally agree
ReplyDeleteDuring mine , I paid someone to do it for me . Couldn't leave my well paying job for that rubbish
Cancel wetin...abeg oooo I must serve oo..afta my turn mke dem cancel d scheme...
ReplyDeleteIf they want to scrap/slash the numbers...no problem.
ReplyDeleteThe region benefitting most from it is the North. Go to their public schools and see your sisters/brothers/girlfriends/boyfriends teaching and nothing like a bag of sachet water to tell them "weldone" but can never see any Hausa girls in the East teaching let alone serving there. They make provision for small allowance for corpers in their school budgets but shi-shi they won't give 'em.
The worst part of it - the Principals will write that they needed 20 or 30 corps member in a school that's after they must have settled the ZI/RI.
NYSC is a waste of time,i just passed out last month and I went through a lot, my suggestion is for federal government to scrap it.
ReplyDeleteThis slashing thing is really annoying, hav been waiting on this batch since March n now that m glad it's time to go, this whole slashing drama emerge..
ReplyDeleteThese ppl ar just time wasters aswear.. #FedGovtPlsScrapNysc
Hmmmmm,God help us o
ReplyDeleteStella u got it.
ReplyDeleteIv been tru with sch for 4years now. And my name finally made it to the list.bought everything.photocopied all my documents. Done the needful. Only to be told that my schools list has been reduced from 2000+ to just 800.
Left a job I had just recently.
And am back to square one looking for other open doors.
Pls let it be scraped.
It could be made optional for ppl that still want to go.
The truth is; thgis scheme is USELESS(to me anyway).
Its frustratiing.
How to even start searching for something else now is my biggest issue.
The best way explain this feeling is; I can't move forward, I can't move backwards and I can't even stand where I am.CONFUSED!!!
Pls scrap this waste of time.
Unilorin Shld pls release our name ooo
ReplyDeleteFederal government should stop wasting people's and cancel Nysc please
ReplyDeleteI think it should be stopped. It adds nothing to us self, just a waste of time. I finished since 2014. I'm yet to go for service, even to get job nko? They all require one who is done with nysc. Tcheeew. Wasting my time.
ReplyDeleteFGN r heartless bastards!!! So dey expect those who r nt selected 2 wait 4 d nxt batch. Thunder wld fire dem in its fullest amplitude. if Dem no get money 4 nysc, make dem scrap am. We don even tire 4 am sef. E no go beta 4 dem. Awon werey alasho.
ReplyDeletePls does anyone know if Uniben has uploaded Senate list on Nysc portal?
ReplyDeleteI tire for dis matter
ReplyDeleteBuhari, Eze na awoli ndi ona achi. Shame.
ReplyDeletePls they shld scrap it biko.
ReplyDeleteUseless scheme!
ReplyDeletePls scrap it!
If it's scrapped how many jobs will be lost?
ReplyDeleteIt should be optional, just like going to the university as well. If you can sponsor yourself then begin go.
