The event took place on the 27th and 28th of October at the Rock Tower in London and was attended by a host of stars from UK Europe, USA, Asia and Africa. Over 4000 guests were present in total over the two days.
The Black Entertainment, Film, Fashion, Television, Arts and Sports Awards (BEFFTA), aimed at honouring the best entertainment , showbiz, leadership and sports personalities in the UK and across the globe is still making history 8 years on by being the first of its kind ceremony that brings together diverse talent and the movers and shakers of the black and Asian community in large numbers under one roof.
Some notable Nigerians who have won an award in the past at the prestigious award ceremony include Don Jazzy, Dbanj, Omotola Jalade, Sesan, Wale Ojo, Adebayo Jones, Asake Oge and Obi Emelonye. This year had new entries from the Nigerian community bagging awards for their outstanding achievements and they include- Ibitola Ojoye Adebayo for Best Author, Rhoda Wilson for Best Tv series (Housewives and Girlfriends), Dj Mind D Gap for Uk Dj of the Year , Shola Victor Sajowa- Best Female Gospel Acts, Shiikane for Best Uk African Female Act, Mr Simon Ogar ( Nigerian Acting High Commission in London) for Recognision Award, Solomon Taiwo for Rising Star Awards and BlackNBold Magazine for Magazine of the year.
The glitzy red carpet also welcomed Lemar who won the music icon of the year.
