Stella, you think running a record label with no income is easy?....
    It's not!...
The last I checked,Iyanya don't have such money to run one!...
He made a wise decision but they won't last!...

    4. Plus I think we have too many record labels already. You can be an artiste and not know how to manage people properly.

I personally feel the fewer the record labels the more quality works we will have.
      I hope they last!

    5. Not a bad move,
An artist should know what it means to be an artist,
If he leaves a record label, opening his own record label doesn't mean he's moved onto greater things, he might not know the ropes.
Now ppl will just sing one song, and they think they've arrived and they'll go and open their own label, meanwhile that's the beginning of the end for them.
Gain grounds, become known all over then be your own boss. This is one smart move Iyanya,
See Lil kesh, what does he know about music that he owns his own label now? Fine money and all but gain grounds first.
      Nice move Iyanya.

  14. Well in his defence its not easy running a label. I bet he's realised that I might not have had the connect he thought he had whilst with Made Men.
He's a big artiste and should be able get a better deal besides international exposure. If talentless Korede and "plince" can manage to be relevant just imagine what Don will do with him.

    1. Thank you Lami. Floating your own record label doesn't necessarily mean you've moved on to bigger things. Nigerian celebrities have too much pride, everybody wants to be their own boss that's why you see mushroom record labels everywhere . I think Iyanya realised he couldn't do it alone hence signing on to Mavin records which by the way is an amazing record label. Don jazzy has a magic touch. wishing you all the best Iyanya and happy birthday.

  32. Stella pls stopeet! Wohedat(inJenifa'sVoice)? Must everybody own a record lebel? Isn't Mavins a bigger thing? Don jazzy is the best manager in Nigeria and producer as we speak. Iyanya is a talent who needs a good manager and producer. And I fink Don Jazzy will deliver. If he went ahead to launch his own lebel na u stella go still enter as say everybody dey launch label. Pls y'all should leave him alone. He alone knows what needs to be done to boost his career.

  33. Thank God he won't be singing Jollof music again...Good music from now.

  34. Nawa, how is this 'moving on to better things?' He should have remained where he was.

  35. Marvin is not a bad record label, if that is what will make him happy, good for him

    ReplyDelete
  36. Running a record label isn't a work in the park and I don't think Iyanya has what it takes to successfully run one....For you to run one successfully, you don't have to be a "full-time" musician cos that would take away the focus as you'll be trying to dish out hits and keeping your musical career alive while neglecting other things(Take DonJ,Banky-when wizkid was there, even Ubi too)....All those wey open there own,how market?? Loool, where's lil kesh??davido and others??even the YBNL,where's their "female act"? She can't even blow now cos Olamide would be still trynna stay relevant, untill be takes the back sit before he can invest in others.....

Why won't Iyanya join Mavin??DonJ is a Very talented person, his voice gives a different feel to music and even if you are always singing crap(like dbanj),his beats will cover it for you....moreover,Tiwa don sign into Roc nation, who no like better thing abeg??Personally,I'm indifferent to the move, all I know be say DonJazzy no go lose and that's all that matters to me........#byeFelicia🙋🙋🙋🙋🙋

  41. Iyanya has made a good move,he is bigger and better than Dr sid and D'prince by far,he is d next big thing to Tiwa in dat label.D truth is,Ubi has ruined his record label.Iyanya is just being matured dat is y he does not want to expose Ubi.Ubi is doing everything to maintain d high profile wife Lillian, hence Living above his means.did u see d restaurant he is abt 2 open in Lekki for lillian??where did u think he got d money from??..Ubi is deep into debts all to please lillian, dude has low self esteem.is just a matter of time and Teckno will leave as well.I pity ubi when his creditors come calling, lillian will be Ubi's downfall.

    1. Nawa o, if this is true, Ubi, better respect yourself o

      Delete
    2. You guys should stop saying Ubi opened a restaurant for Lilian. Same Lilian that refused to repost the advert for the opening even when other celebs were doing so. If you ask me I feel Ubi and Lilian are having issues cos whether it's hers or Ubi's there is no sign of it on her IG page. Instead she's busy wishing other celebs happy birthday. Lilian doesn't love Ubi, she's just managing him and once the money dries up she will run.

    3. Anon is the wise one here. Lilian and Ubi are having serious issues and it's just a matter of time before they release press statement.

Iyanya which kain yeye backward move be dis? Sign with Mavin? You just fall my hand!! You hear say Flavour or Timaya dey sign with record label?

How will you even fit in Mavin now? Dr Sid go use bad belle pursue you, as he pursue Dbanj & Wande Coal....

Iyanya mulu anya ka azu oo.. am not comfortable with this arrangement at all at all.... Lemme call Ubi sef to know what's up....

    ReplyDelete
  48. Well, Iyanya made a smart move.

the only person i feel for is Ubi Franklin. But i know he will pick up fast if not, na Lilian go turn breadwinner.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Stella my opinion about this honestly is Inyanya and Ubi Franklin didn't work out the business part of the label. And that girl Lilian Esoro Ubi married i strongly believe Iyanya had something with her maybe in the past but that was Ubi and Iyanya problem. so the managerial part Iyanaya didn't know his left or right. he is just the singer that brings the money. This is the biggest problem music is suffering Iyanya is a big artist to sign to Marvin Records to sing along side who Dr.sid, D'prince and the other junior staff. Tekno's duro and Pana matches up all their albums the marvin junior staffs has released. the only artist on his level is Tiwa Savage. so what happens to Tekno? and that boy is gradually turning into a superstar iyanaya didnt think wisely he only got lazy because of the bitches, money and fame. simple as that. Mavin records wouldn't help him

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hahahahahahaha😂😂😂😂😂😂

    ReplyDelete
  51. y'all don't know nothing! iyanya moved to Marvin cos he wants a piece of Tiwa, y'know it's gonna be don, Dr n iy
    anya

    ReplyDelete
  52. Iyanya never intended to float any record label. He just couldn't switch from MMMG to mavin out of respect and love for ubi. I admire his moves. Its not easy being an artist and managing a label at the same time. And as for don jazzy, that's his God given ability. I believe things will work out fine. The next artist I want in Marvin's is Sean tizzle. That guy is wasting g in his current label. They do him no good as a label. Don jazzy, please sign Sean Tizzle. Imagine the hype and reach mavin can give to Sean tizzle. And his music is way ahead of that of Dr sid, reekado, korede dija and prince all put together
