Doctors In House Section.

HUH?

Does Pre Menstrual Syndrome (PMS) mean no pregnancy?

I've been trying to conceive for a few months now. I'm in my late 30s but only got married this year. Towards the end of last year I noticed that I started having strong PMS symptoms some days before my period.

After I got married the symptoms got worse with breast tenderness being the major one that will start about 14 days to my next period which is also around the time of ovulation. Once I start getting this breast tenderness It's an indication that my body is preparing itself for the next period.

My question is can I get pregnant while already having PMS ? or is PMS a sign of infertility. Please help. Thank you.

My kind regards lady Stella.

    6. Work with a gynecologist. Some times hormonal imbalances changes the overall function of a woman's menstral cycle. They will work with you and determine the best possible course of action. Good luck sister.

  2. You can,the most important is to know if you ovulate.Ovulation and your hubby being medically okay would guarantee pregnancy.
I urge you to go see a gynae and also your husband to run some fertility tests if its up to 6 months you started TTC.Gdluck.

    1. Overweight no good my dear, hope you have a bathroom weight scale to always check your weight. There must be a difference btw your weight now and your pre-pregnancy weight. If you eat fruits, take your routine drugs and eat your meals as at when due and still slim, nne its your nature and the way the pregnancy 'wants'.Dont stress over that,I even prefer it sef.

  9. This is the most stupid question I've ever heard asked. So all the millions of women around the world that experience PMS are all infertile? And when you have a daughter, God willing, who will most likely have one type of PMS or the other you will explain to her that she's infertile, yeah? This is why I never bother to open this Doctor's In House section post. Smh

  11. Quit sounding dumb.
Do u even know what pms entails? I seriously doubt u do.
    Google is your friend.
Your inability to get pregnant got nothing to do with pms just so you know.
Lotsa women have these pms symptoms yet still most of them have gone ahead to birth kids they can't even keep tabs on.
Stop looking for trouble where there's none.
Go see a doctor so that the problem responsible for your inability to give birth wld be made known

You should see your doc to prescribe drugs for the pains.

  22. @poster, you are fine and not infertile. PMS doesn't affect fertility. See a gynecologist if you are still worried.

@weight-gain poster, Wate On is sold for N2,200 at some pharmacy in Lagos. It could be cheaper in other state...lol. I sincerely hope you can keep up with your wate-on purchase.

@anonymous, Not everyone adds weight during or after pregnancy, and it doesn't affect your baby.

  23. Poster,i don't think PMS has anything to do with your fertility. To be at rest, run all the necessary test and be sure that you are medically ok.

  24. PMS isn't a sign of infertility my dear,,,. You can get pregnant. Just ensure regular Intercourse. If you are worried you can see a gynecologist once you marriage is a year. You ll be asked to run some tests with your husband but am hoping you conceive before then. It is well with you,,.
