Bolanle Austen-Peter's Speech At The Platform

The founder of Terra Kulture and producer of the blockbuster movie 93days, Bolanle Austen-Peters was one of the speakers at the 2016 “The Platform” summit where she gave one of the most captivating speeches.

Mrs Bolanle spoke on the creative innovation leading to the development of our economy and believes that creativity is the most important tool Nigeria can adopt at this crucial moment. According to her, Nigerians need to stop thinking about mundane things like Cassava turning into bread while other countries are flying to the moon and other planets.

  4. You can not fly to the moon with an empty stomach, Nigeria is yet to achieve food security compare to other developed countries. until we can feed ourselves as a nation , we can then make going to the moon our priority. A hungry nation is an angry one. I support diversification of the economy , great innovative ideas but we need to get our priorities right.
God bless you Bolanle and more greeze to ur elbow. Meanwhile I only read the headlines oo , I no get data to watch the video. Thank you stella .

  5. Turning Cassava into bread is not a mundane thinking on the contrary. combating shortage of world food supply is critical to many nations and international bodies gather to discuss innovative ways of improving food supply.

  10. Talk is cheap! Buhari said more than this during campaign, remind me are we there yet? The same people endorsing Obi, endorsed Buhari.
That leader that will take us there will appear in the twinkle of an eye, he will be fearless and action filled. Just like what happened in Ghana.

  12. Is combating hunger not important too.
How can you fly to tge moon when you cannot feed yourself. If we are talking innovation lets bring it down to the third world country that we are. Hunger is a global issues and it has hit Nigeria like an epidemic.
Let not pretend that we've pass that stage. Because we are yet to feed ourselves.

  14. Nigerians with chicken reasoning should watch this video and maybe they will someday think like a eagle that they are.
Many countries don't have these natural resources and are excelling. We all esp our leaders should think of what we can do without our natural resources. We need creative thinkers and doers

  15. What's wrong with changing cassava into bread? Is the world all about going to the moon? Are there no other departments related to the provision of food for the citizens? Talk talk talk all the way, all we Nigerians. No moving forward. We all talk. Some make a fortune out of it. Let her put in her proposal about going to the moon. At least that is productivity! If only we could, though....

  16. Anonymous18.05 Your such an intelligent person. Those countries who has been to the moon and other planets did not go there will an empty stomach. Besides it's a stabilise economy that provides the needed resources to get to moon.
Turning cassava into bread is also part of innovations to combat food shortages. We need to put our house(our economy) in order before embarking on the adventure of discovering new planets.
