The Cleaning Wife Or The Cooking Wife?

Wife not cook or wife not cleaner?
LOL

Is there somewhere a rule book was written that its the job of a woman to clean and cook?
This is backward mentality if you ask me...A couple should do things together...If she cannot clean, then you clean,if she cannot cook, then you cook!

Am i wrong to think this way? Please somebody correct me if i am!

But unfortunately, I am a cook and a cleaning Bride to be.

    2. Why would a woman not know how to cook or clean. Yeah a man can assist a woman in doing so if he feels like to do it but it shouldn't be an obligation or he owe her to it. Never. I would prefer a very intelligent hard working man who's on top of his game and hitting his financial target making all the money. Why would I let such person cook and clean for me? In short any day he does cooking and cleaning, I will make sure that night is one to remember. Lol

This is not a topic at all. Pride of every woman is to be able to take care of her home by simply cooking, cleaning and putting things in order. While the pride of every man is to be able to provide for his family. Any one that can't play this role has failed in what ever he or she stands for.

    5. Qyrenth I'm guessing your own man (that's if you have any) hasn't contributed enough to deserve freedom from your bondage. The problem with this generation is people trying to switch gender roles...oga provide for your family, madam nurture your family but no...madam wants to earn & not provide, yet turn oga into house boy so he'll be a good husband. Do yours & I do mine & all this BS would be sorted out. I don't know or care how much my wife makes, I know my responsibilities. When I'm doing the cooking and/or house chores, I'm chipping in extra from my church mind to ease her stress but if she abuses that privilege, I'll return to my couch & wait for food

Stella I understand that u don't like cooking but am sure u won't stay in a dirty envro. but serzly what is the duty of a mother who dsnt tch her daughter how to cook.even for her own sake. look at all d story of omugo. I will advise that mother should pls try to teach them both. Not all men like to eat outside.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Wrong Stella,
Some girls will be visiting men, supplying different styles of sex and washing, cooking and cleaning all to get him to marry them. Once they are married, they begin this "wife not cook" story. Love is mutual; yes, spouses can exchange roles and help each other out. But be careful girls how you overdo these things. If it is only sex that you give him, or you don't cook, he will eat out and get attracted by other females.

Now to the "wife of noble character: Proverbs thirty one:

17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.

27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

  14. Stella leave that thing abeg. She should know how to do both else someone will help her out.

It's alright for the man to assist when he can but the woman should know how to do this basic things.

  24. @Stella, I am hustling tight because the economy isn't smiling...so ain't gat time to make cooking or cleaning my core chore. If the so-called wife is well-trained and from a good home, she MUST be able to do these 2 important and basic house chores without breaking sweat talkmore or seeing it as a task. Charity, they say, begins @ home.

If she can cook and clean in her parent's house, why should doing same in my own house (his husband) be a global debate.

  34. It's not necessary that a woman must cook or clean, But in a married home, the woman should know how to cook or clean if there is no house hlep. Though understanding couples may sometimes help each other but we all know that here in Nigeria, must men can't cook, so they tend to help out in the cleaning section. If i were married,i wouldn't want my husband to cook for me and the kids though, maybe once in a blue moon.

  35. Yes Stella you are wrong to think this way. Although there's nothing bad with a husband cooking or cleaning but it must be as a compliment to the wife. That said, if I must pick one, a wife should know how to cook, cleaning can be delegated to a maid or someone else. I don't think I'd like anyone cooking for my husband except for when i'm indisposed.

  41. Yes you are wrong stella on this one. And stop putting crazy ideas on our head. Women are meant to be home managers. A woman is suppose to pilot the affairs of the home and that includes cooking and cleaning. How can a woman not even know how to cook sef? I just dont get that part. Did your mom not cook for her husband? I remember those days when my mom won't even let my elder sister cook for her husband (our dad).times have change, now women just want to sit and lazy their ass around fixing long nails and eye lashes just so dey won't cook or wash or do any other house chores. They now see themselves as equal with their husbands thereby sharing the housechores. If your hubby decides to help with the house chores that's him trying to be a good husband and its not mandatory. Don't abuse that previledge.
Stella is lucky to have married a whiteman whose ideas are totally different from ours. We are Africans and African women are homely.
I for one won't let nobody cook for my husband not unless am seriously ill, call me a maid or what ever I don't care. I don't even see it as a chore sef Its a part of me to take care of my home. So excusee me coz I ain't buying this.

Yeah, I'm a feminist, but since the beginning of time, the wife has been the homemaker. It's not going to change.
That doesn't mean that the man should mess everywhere up, and leave the woman to clean up after him, no.

As for cooking and doing chores, those depends on the two people involved.

But saying that I won't keep my house in other, because if I don't do it, my man will, doesn't make sense.

Then again, if only we'd train our children, both male and female, to take up responsibilities in the home, and quit with the double standards, all these talks won't be necessary.

Bottomline ; I can't be around and my home would be messed up or disorganised.

Most Nigeria women are being deceived into believing that is only Nigerian/African women that cook and clean their homes. Please, majority of women everywhere do the same thing.
Americans and the British people do not set the standard of living for the world.

Is not an African or Nigeria men mentality for a woman to cook and clean. The word of God has set it straight and give us all guidelines. So, is left for you to follow the rules or follow the American/British way.
If you're a woman and you don't know how to cook or you don't like cooking, whO will be the one cooking for your child/children?

  67. And I asked: why on earth would a woman not know how to cook and clean? Is that really possible? Well, I am yet to meet such a person. To be sincere, even the guys I know (including my brothers) are good in both cooking and cleaning not to say girl-pals. I only see such acts on TV. I wish I can just meet that non-cooking and cleaning type-of-girl that won't always disturb me on how to try a new cooking & cleaning pattern...lol. I really wish. Some friends are bed-bugs but are cool tho...hahaha

  68. My sister cooks well but she's dirty. I don't understand how someone will cook in a dirty kitchen and still leave everywhere messy. I just hate it whenever she's in the kitchen.

  71. I believe a husband should help his wife do things. I'll rather know how to clean than cook. Hubby can teach, if he knows how to. If not, there are cooking schools. I can swear to u that a dirty environ pisses a man off more than hunger.
