SEC Warns Investors On Activities Of MMM Nigeria

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has warned the investing public on the activities of some online investment scheme tagged ‘MMM Federal Republic of Nigeria.

According to SEC, the promoters of the scheme carry out their business activities via Nigeria.mmm.net portal/platform, and are promising investors a monthly investment return of 30 per cent.

SEC said the venture had no tangible business model, describing it as a Ponzi scheme, where returns would be paid from other peoples’ invested funds.
Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investing scam promising high rates of return with little risk to investors. The scheme generates returns for older investors by acquiring new investors.

The notice on SEC’s website thus read, “The attention of SEC, Nigeria has been drawn to the activities of an online investment scheme tagged ‘MMM Federal Republic of Nigeria (nigeria.mmm.net). The platform has embarked on an aggressive online media campaign to lure the investing public to participate in what it called ‘mutual aid financial network’ with a monthly investment return of 30 per cent.

“The commission hereby notifies the investing public that the operation of this investment scheme has no tangible business model hence it’s a Ponzi Scheme, where returns are paid from other people’s invested sum. Also, its operation is not registered by the Commission.”

SEC, therefore, advised the general public to be wary of the online scheme, adding that anyone that subscribes to this illegal activity does so at his/her own risk.
In a related development, SEC said its attention had been drawn to the activities of one Mrs. Oge C. Ottiwu of No. 118 Zink Avenue, Opposite Eke Market, Awka, Anambra State, allegedly engaging in capital market activities without any registration within Anambra State and its environs.

“Section 38(1) of the Investments and Securities Act, 2007 requires any person who intends to operate as a professional in the capital market or carry on securities business to be registered by the commission before engaging in such activities. It is therefore illegal to carry on any kind of capital market business without registration,” it said in a post on its website.

I triple pledge 200k each in a month that's 600 and I open another account in my last sisters name and double pledge 200k and I am also operating it with another 400k Cox my other two sisters are operating theirs themselves so I am collecting profits of nothing less than 332k a month.

    4. It's funny how we call it help and expect the borrower to pay as much as 30% interest in just 30days.What kind of biz will give you a return of more than 30% in a month? Beware and be wise. That your friends have cashed from it doesn't make it a good business.Imagine someone giving you 500k for just 30days and expects you to pay him/her 150k interest within the period. Ask people in the past who were bragging about NOSPECTO what happened in the end.My colleague in the bank then that was benefiting and refused to listen to me had to convince her sister abroad to put 7.5M and another used customer's 10M fixed deposit and they all went under. It's a simple business sense, forget about what you are benefiting now. Be objective and realistic.

  33. This MMM is real, I'm one that is so sceptical, I do thorough investigations before I make any move, the only thing I've not been able to understand is the interest, how it come about, but then there is mathematical Model that I just discovered that if all the rules are adhered to, will perpetuate these venture to entirety, and with the way it's structured, its following the limitless maths model.
To be convinced, a friend registered me free, with his own money, 5k, and after a month plus, I was able to withdraw 7k, this is real. I have heard stories of success but before registering, please read the Terms and Conditions very well, you can loose all your fund in it, if u breech any of their terms and conditions.
Up there I read a post about investing 50k and reaping 70k after 30 days, Pls it's wrong, u will only get 65k after 30 days but when u let your money stay more than 30 days, then u can earn more than the 15k interest as the interest is been calculated as a 1% daily of the amount rendered as help, which will be matured for withdrawal after 30 days, so if u want a higher interest, let it rest for 60days and at the end of it u stand to reap a profit of 30k on principle of 50k.
To illustrate how it works and how people patronage it, u can pledge a help, and be on the system for up to 2 weeks before u are assigned a member to help. What it shows is that lots of people are in it, and people rendering help are more than those demanding help, one of the rule that the model still maintains it integrity. I'm a proud member.

  34. MMM has over 10 safety nets which will never make it crash. And you Never notice But I will mention 10 out of them.

    *1, Pause mode*

    *2, 14 days defrost*

*3, Extension of the getting help hours*

*4, Seeking help from neighboring country*

    *5, No central account attached*

    *7,  Peer to peer  system*

    *8,  Guider's efforts*

    *9   PH match hours extension*

    *10, Website upgrades and security*

    *1, Pause mode*

This process is applied when the numbers of the people getting help is greater than the people help. The system will pause the GH transactions and allow more PH to come into the system for the duration of 2 and half months, then the system will now restart.

PH means provide help and the GH means get help

    *2, 14 days defrost*

The participants will not be able to withdraw their money until after 14 days when the payments have been confirmed. During this process, more PH would have come into the system therefore there would be pool of cash to pay the old participants.

    *3, Extension of GH hours*

this occur when there is a public holidays when the banks are not working therefore,  there won't be transaction and it may cause the problem to the system. The system will now extend the hours of the people who are getting help at that period to allow more People providing help into the system.

*4, Help seeking from neighboring country*

When there are more GH than PH in a country, MMM will look into the other countries which are doing well and match them together, pending the time that the affected country will be OK.

    *6, No central account attached*

MMM  does not have a certain account that we are sending to. MMM doesn't collect your money.

    *7, Peer to peer system*

Participants pay directly to the bank account of the other participants seeking help

    *8, Guider's efforts*

Guiders are the heartbeat of MMM, guiders make sure each and everyone in MMM understand the Ideology of MMM and how it works

    *9, PH  match hours extension*

When the system finds out that there are more GH than PH,  the system will extend the hour of old PH so that to hold down their order matches duration and during this period, the system will allow more new PH to come into the system to get it balanced.

    *10, Website upgrades and security*

MMM spends million of dollars in taking care of their website to cub online fraud in MMM, such as scam and other Threats.

    ReplyDelete
  35. MMM is not a scam. It has been paying me and has paid a lot others I know. How can MMM scam you when you Have your money with you and not expected to part with it till you are matched and what's more, you are paying directly to a peer not the company. You can even decided to cash out a week after or less hence your pledge has been on the system for over 2weeks. All you need do is pledge to give a certain amount to someone when needed, your money's stays with you of course, till you are matched with someone to provide help to the person. You get 30% increase on the paid amount. Besides that, you are given 20usd registration bonus and registration is free.

And for those wondering how MMM makes the extra to pay the bonus and percentage, let's not forget that millions of people are logged on there and this generates money to the platform providers.

MMM Works!!! I haven't even bothered to talk to anybody about it apart from family members cos it is draining convincing some people and it is not like their profit is yours.

No doubt, there are risks but everything in life is risky, the worst risk in life is not taking a risk. Don't leave your money laying around when it generate profit for you. (remember the parable about the servant who buried his wealth cos he didn't wanna risk it, he incurred the masters wrath). What am I even saying, abeg it is risky but it is well worth it.

Anyone who wants to know more about it or have any question, I don't mind, I will answer. Mail me promiseclem at yahoo dot com.

  36. The thing works but when it backfires ehnn people go get heart attack. While in university, people invested in this even with their school fees, but after luring so many people, they claimed that the thing has crashed abi what was the term used then.. a lot of people of course lost their money. Na once the thing take dey backfire and by then plenty people would have "invested" their funds.

  41. What about h2i, that's their modus of operation too, no product selling all u do is refer people who would make a donation, that's all u keep doing, it's doesn't look like it's a sustainable investment, it's also a silent ponzi scheme. Helping hands international or h2i 4 short

  42. MMM is not a scam. Some of you think it is because you know nothing about mmm. MMM does not have a bank account, so how can they scam you? All monies are transferred between participants not even a kobo goes to mmm. You say it's a scam because you do not know anything about it. Do your research and you will see its not a scam. Nobody's one kobo is with mmm. My question remains, how can someone without a bank account who you will never give a kobo to scam you? Please answer.

  43. Its a pity seeing graduates saying MMM is not a scam when it really is. Yes it pays, but one day it will crash. The site owners too apply for help and you pay them, that's how they get money.

One day they will decide to receive all the help from people giving it, that is one way it can crash, another way is if CBN closes the bank account of participants which they can, just like South Africa did. The third way is if the FBI, the global .com vigilante decides to seize MMM's domain name.

Be careful with your money folks, and always your SPARE money, I'm on MMM too but i'm participating in a smart way with less risk.

  44. MMM is risky, I know….. I choose to take the risk
MMM is Ponzi, I know…... I still choose to be part of it
MMM is a scam, I know….. It is the BEST PAYING scam ever
Mavrodi is a 'criminal', I know…. He has the BRAIN
-But do you know that all investments are risky?
-Do you know that the global financial system is the biggest Ponzi scheme of all times?
-Do you know that going to school, working your entire life and hoping on an unpaid pension is a devilish scam?
-Do you know that the US Federal Reserve, our 'master' use every other person as a 'slave' with dollars as 'shackles', are the worst criminals that we still applaud?
If you still see MMM as a scam, please leave me with my scam, I love to be scammed…πŸ˜†πŸ˜›
If you still see MMM as a Ponzi scheme, please leave me with it, I crave for it anyways.πŸ˜‹
If you think MMM is not secured, yes I choose not to be, because everyone under security lives in the fools' paradise of freedom.πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

From A Banker Friend Who Is Also A Participant
    ==================================
Money in circulation as at 31st August, 2016 is about N2trillion, and all these pass through the banks. Pool of funds MMM is controlling shouldn't be more than N100million for now, which is peanut compared to the money in circulation. Again, all monies in circulation pass through the banks. MMM is not taking money away from us.
The money we pledge to provide is still in our accounts. Consequently, the banks have nothing to lose because of MMM as the Founder of MMM does not take money from us. Please I repeat there is no need to panic. We are only helping one another at our own expense and risk, which MMM clearly spelt out.

  46. I don't think anybody force any one to join, but all I know is that if you are not interested then stay away but if you are interested take a study of the ideology. No central account. You donate ur spare money to help someone by paying directly to his bank account and another person help you back in 30days with interest. Its real. It works.
