Paedophile Jailed For Raping Two Girls

A CONVICTED paedophile who posed as a police officer and attacked two 12-year-old schoolgirls will serve over eight years in jail.

Rapist Apedelrazek Badran, 33, was given a life sentence with a minimum term of eight years and four months at Wood Green Crown Court on Tuesday for the “terrifying” crimes, which he carried out in Edmonton, north London.

‎Badran approached his first victim at around 4.30pm on January 27, claiming that he was a police officer, and tried to take her to a nearby van, but she managed to escape.

Around an hour later he saw the second girl and told her that he was a security guard and that she fitted the description of a shoplifter and he needed to search her. He then sexually assaulted her whilst threatening her, saying that he had a knife.

Badran was sentenced after being found guilty of a raft of offences including sexual assault of a child under 13, assault of a child under 13 by penetration, committing common assault with the intent to commit a sexual offence, two offences of breaching a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) by contacting a person under 16 and breaching an SHPO by carrying a tool in a public place.

Detective Constable Lee Ranson said: “Badran is one of the most dangerous offenders I have ever prosecuted and he posed a significant threat to young children. I am delighted with the sentence and we hope it sends out a clear message that people who commit this type of offence will be brought to justice.”

Detective Inspector Mark Rogers, of the Met Police’s Sexual Offences Exploitation and Child Abuse Command, added: “Badran posed a serious threat to young girls and the streets are now safer with him behind bars.

“It is possible that he may have approached and even attacked other children and I would urge them to come forward.

“We take all allegations of sexual offences incredibly seriously and have specialist officers on hand to speak with anyone who has been the victim of assault.”
