I am an only girl with two brothers .
my mum was so restless to come for omugwo from ibadan to port harcourt that she came in 2 days to my delivery date.
My contraction started like joke I was restless I kept updating hubby at work about how I was feeling immediately he closed he rushed back home. we wanted to go to the clinic as per JJC our first child my mum said no its too early let's wait .
The pain kept increasing by the minute and I couldn't wait anymore my eyes were red, then my mum knew I was serious .we got to the hospital around 2am I had my baby by 6am .
everything went smoothly to the glory of God.
My mum and hubby started spreading the news before I knew what was happening omo my room don full both family and friends came to see the first great Grand child (grandpa is still alive) .
my joy knew no bounds and I felt special.
Hospital staff know say person born dat day, everyone followed us home pepper soup was just flowing any how, my step mum was in the kitchen doing what she knows how to do best and my mum gave my son his first bath.
My Breast milk didn't flow until after 3days so my baby was taking SMA. It was after I had my son I knew that family is everything because they were always around and ready to cook and clean .I drank all types of pepper soup from dried fish to fresh fish and chicken. My mum was always doing the hot water thingy lol.
After each bath see me sweating like xmas goat na. My mother inlaw came 2wks after my son's delivery and she and my mum related so well like long lost friends. both of them will take care of the baby and gist till the baby wakes up while hubby and I will relax and watch movies .
my omugwo experience was awesome .my mum stayed for 3 good months until she got tired.
I Am grateful to God for my family.
my son would be 1yr old next month.
*Wow,your mum and step mum?gone are those days oooo.

DeleteThat sitting on hot water thingy is HELL. But it paid off for me. Hubby swears that I don't feel like I've given birth "down there" and I believe him, cos he doesn't last that long cos of d tightness. Lol
ReplyDeleteHow is it hell? I hope you know that the water isn't meant to be very hot. It's just water that you can comfortably dip your elbow in without getting scalded. Nobody asked you people to sit on scalding hot water oh!
DeleteHa! It was scalding hot oh. Like really hot that u can feel ur insides shrinking. I was literally crying everytime.
