A militant group known as the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate, NDGJM, has warned those around major oil and gas installations in the Niger Delta region to vacate their residence because it intends to blow up these facilities soon.
In a statement by its spokesman, Aldo Agbalaja, the militant group said all marked facilities in the region have been rigged with explosives at strategic points, waiting to be detonated.
According to the group, the detonation was being delayed because of those residing within the environment of the marked facilities.
The statement reads in part, “One more time, we are warning and at the same time appealing to residents around major oil and gas facilities across our region to please evacuate immediately.
“This warning has become necessary because of the fact that we do not wish any of our people, for whom we have taken up this crusade, to become casualties of our campaign.
“All the marked facilities in all the states have been rigged with explosives at strategic points, waiting to be detonated.
“We are only being slowed down because of the presence of those still living close by. This struggle will only cease when the adversarial Nigerian system yields to reason.”
dailypost reportage.
Imagine such display of impunity. Thought they had resolved this issue? Smh

ReplyDeleteHmmmm a clear case of cutting your own nose to spite your face. May sanity be restored in Nigeria in Jesus' name.Amen.
ReplyDeleteThis Niger delta militants stuff is really getting out of hand. I just came back from the rig in Omoku. Apart from the constant light they have there, nothing major is there. My company paid 15m naira to bring in our equipments. It's an indigenous company. We employed 50 of the indigenes for the work too and do you know that all there my 3 months there, non showed but they were paid monthly. The problem with these people is their greed. Yes, Greed I say. If the fight is for their collective purpose, then I would have been happy for their fight. The discrepancy in wealth is so glaring. Thatch/mud houses, and magnificent building owned by the "ogas". The will prefer the raw cash to building infrastructures, hospitals schools etc.
ReplyDeletePeople run out of the community. We were locked at work on a particular day. Give them money and they spend it recklessly.
In cases of oil spillage, they will prefer giving them 1m each to cleaning it up. And this is meagre compared to what the corporations make. All because of greed; not knowing that money finishes but environment remains.
It pains me because this fight is not for a collective purpose.
pls Blow the whole state up make we rest.....
