DeleteInfact you spoke my mind! I just said the same thing to my sister yesterday. Everyday, morning afternoon, night, you must think of what to cook for the house! Whether you are hungry or not. Whether you feel like cooking or not. And hubby doesn't help matters! That's how he will be complaining "I don't like eating yam at night! I don't like eating swallow at night! I don't like indomie at all! I don't like spaghetti at all!" so what miracle should I perform? With limited funds for that matter? I taya my sister!

DeleteSame thing happened to me, do you know how I tackled it? I prepared a menu. If I want to prepare rice it is either coconut rice, jollof rice, fried rice,white rice with Ofe akwu, white rice with tomatoes stew, white rice with sauce, white rice with chicken or goat peppersoup. I have bitterleaf soup, vegetables soup,okro,ogbono, egusi, nsala,ora soup. For my beans I prepare beans only, beans and yam, beans and plantain, beans and potatoes,beans and corn all prepared with dry fish and vegetables. I also have sweet potatoes porridge with vegetables, Irish potatoes porridge with vegetables, yam and vegetables, yam porridge, yam with tomatoes egg sauce, unripe plantain porridge with ugh and dry fish,ukwa,pancake, sandwich, akara and moimoi. You can form a timetable from the above menu provided
DeleteI purposely did all the cleaning yesterday so i could concentrate on the Olympic games today, especially now that the track and field game has started.

I blended Apple, Pear, figs and peach fruits together, making it a perfect fruit cream for me and my son.
Will be eating salmon fish and oven baked potatoes later in the day.
Making old food look new;
there was a day i had a leftover tomatoes stew, i thought about what i will make with it, because my husband don't eat stale food especially when it is up to three days in the fridge!
I decided to boil whole spaghetti, stir-fry onions and garlic, added kidney beans and corn, then the leftover tomatoes stew, stirred it all together. I left if for five minutes then, i added the boiled whole spaghetti.
I stirred it once more and poured three raw eggs on it.
It came out perfect/yummy and my husband loved it.

Anon 12:40 what is fake about what she said? Her 'pimped' left over menu is totally achievable(the ingredients can be gotten from your average supermarket). Some people are very creative in kitchen matters. If you live well, other people's stories will not sound 'extraordinary'.

ReplyDeleteNo food yet, working seriously on my weight. My dream weight is 80kg but currently weighing 98kg. How will I loose 20kg in three months. I am strict on my diet now. No oil, no carb, 2hrs work out every day. More of vegetables, fruits and water. No more late food. It is one of my prayer topics. Oh Lord please help me.

Babe, 2 hours a day is too much, don't kill yourself.
DeleteOne hour exercise everyday is fine as long as you make it a daily routine.
Reduce carbs and load on protein and veggies.
Portion control is key,start eating with a smaller plate and reduce to half or quater of what you were eating.
Do not starve yourself at any point in time and don't skip breakfast.
Take lots of water!!
Ditch soft drinks, ice cream , alcohol ,chocolates etc and when you need to nibble take an apple or pear etc.
Then finally, it is not healthy to lose 20kg in 3months.You added weight over a period of time and should lose it over a period of time.
Focus on losing 3-4kg in a month okay and give your body time to adjust.

ReplyDeleteHere's my healthy dinner recipe. It's baked Mackerel fish.

Mackerel
Maggi
Garlic(chopped)
Curry
Orange zest
Orange juice
Oregano
Pepper/chilli flakes
Green beans
Method:
Make tiny cuts on the fish to allow the spiced enter it (I usually just remove the head of the fish only, if it's medium sized but if it's big i cut it into 2) and put in a bowl, add maggi, curry, oregano, the pepper and rub very well on the fish and transfer it to a foil paper, put the orange zest and squeeze the orange juice. Arrange the green beans beside it and fold the foil paper making a bag, put inside oven at 220 degrees and bake for 20mins. Serve with boiled potatoes. Sorry to mention to drizzle olive oil before baking. Enjoy.
