SaharaReporters confirmed from medical professionals at the Nizamiye Hospital in Abuja that Stella Oduah’s son, Maxwell Omabuwa Chinedu Etoromi, died after suffering a brain haemorrhage.
According to doctors who spoke with SaharaReporters, anonymously Mr. Etoromi was admitted into their care from another hospital-Zankli Medical Centre-, but died almost promptly. “He was brought to us with the request that we admit him, and we said, why not?” one of the doctors revealed.
He added: “Despite our best efforts he died in our care just 30 minutes after we admitted him. We could not do anything to revive him because he arrived in a coma. We tried cardiac life support, but it was too late by the time he arrived.”
Another doctor who spoke to SaharaReporters said Mr. Etoromi arrived at their health facility with a “subarachnoid hemorrhage” on Thursday evening around 6PM and was already in the worst stage of coma possible, he died some 30 minutes later.
Subarachnoid haemorrhaging can have several causes, including a traumatic head injury, a bleeding disorder, or the incorrect use of blood thinning medication.
The medical doctors who spoke with a correspondent of SaharaReporters said they were in no position to immediately declare the cause of Mr. Etoromi’s death, but said they just issued a death certificate in which they reported that that he had significant haemorrhaging.
A source close to Ms. Oduah, a former Minister of Aviation and current senator representing Anambra State, told SaharaReporters that Mr. Etoromi had been given the wrong kind of medication after he had his tooth pulled at another hospital creating complications that ultimately led to his death.
*We are still saying the same thing right?Turkish Hospital is just saying they are not the ones that gave him the medication.May God give his family the strength to bear his loss.
It's good the Turkish hospital comes out with their statement before they rubbish their brand.
ReplyDeleteAbeg they should allow his family mourn him. Unfortunately, This controversy will not raise the dead. Although if his death was as a result of somebody's negligence, then the family may wish to press charges. But then again...
DeleteLols, this hospital must have been paid millions to sugarcoat things. Only people in medical line will understand.
DeleteOnce you are in A&E and an otherwise healthy YOUNG man is brought in unconscious with signs of... without any history of trauma. Rule out Drug Overdose!
No we are not saying the same thing. Maybe he was never given a wrong medication. Only the family, zankli and turkish hospital knows the truth.
ReplyDeleteMay God comfort the family.
Dear Jesus I need a miracle.
Sorry to say buh d boy looks somehow sha.
DeleteGood response. He may not have given any wrong medication after all. What's the commonest drug given after tooth surgery? They can't press charges because they know he died of cocaine overdose.. Cover up stories. Rest in Peace to the dead.
DeleteZankali medical centre, release your own statement please..
DeleteHmmm, it is well.... Zankli and Turkish hospital, all very expensive places and still he died. Father have mercy. Rip
ReplyDeleteI cant even imagine what the mom is going through right now
ReplyDeleteThey are playing chess with a dead man's feeling.
ReplyDeleteA dead man has "feeling" now?
DeleteLol
DeleteWeird pple everywhere
DeleteWhat is wrong with this useless sahara whatever! Can't they allow this young man to rest in peace. All these details about his death are irrelevant.
ReplyDeleteMay his soul Rest In Peace!
It is relevant because the reputation of that hospital is at stake. This can cost them customers cos everyone will be scared to go there even if its to treat ordinary malaria. If they have to dig up dirt to clear there names, too bad. Too bad the guy is caught in the line of fire while trying to rest in peace.
DeleteMay his soul RIP
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the family will get to the root of this matter. They kuku have the resources.
ReplyDeleteGet to which root? Abeg they should remain on the branches because once they get to the root na so so Stella Odua and Aviation Ministry funds they will find there.
Delete...and yes, that resources they have is actually the root of his problems. they would rather cover up the roots than go digging.
Root of which matter. We don already dig reach the root oh. Sahara reporters are actually happy with this news since its Stella Oduah that is involved. Watch and see, another part of this story will be unravelled to the general public very soon.
DeleteHer died son cuz of too much money wey en mama embezzled wen she was a minister...............R.I.P shaaaaaaa
ReplyDeleteGet a life#!!!!
DeleteNo 1 deserves to bury their child. And Biko before you rush to judge, make sure your English is right!!!
May God forgive you.
DeleteGerrout hia!!! So because she embezzled money, her son should die in her place?
DeleteTufia
God has already forgiven..............and for Crazy wateva u call yourself........dat was just a typographic error...
DeleteThe sins of the fathers never go unpunished.
DeleteMost will still happen to these theives.
Spirit hope your own father didn't commit any sin.
DeleteThe guy na confirm drug addict. Which toothache medication. Na coke overdose kill am,Stella take it to world bank.
ReplyDeleteContinue. May be it will add more money to you wretched account anon 7:40. You had to go anon to shamelessly continue with your fake and useless story. Since you are the supplier of the coke, you will be caught abd disgraced very soon. Evil people everywhere...
DeleteAbegi, every body de beef doctors, even you SDk, but...#ghostmode.
ReplyDeleteMay God grant him eternal rest. And the Almighty give his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
ReplyDeleteFrom the pics I have seen. The man is clearly overweight.Excess body fat could may have worsen his condition.
This is one more reason fat people should quit being lazy and shed some weight at least for the sake of their health.
You're clearly an ignorant bastard. No one Nigeria isn't moving forward because of ignorant fools like you that troll the Internet. Instead of using the Internet to educate yourself you go about spilling garbage on blogs.
DeleteDrug overdose. Simple.
ReplyDelete...as in. It's clear and clear. Intracerebral haemorrhage. He doesn't know that the coke they sell in Nigeria is mixed with dusting powder and aboniki.
DeleteWhen I hear news like this,I just feel sad. This is the second tooth ache stuff I'm hearing about linked with wrong drug prescription pls something should be done about it. RIP Chinedu
ReplyDeleteTrust SA to be the ones to dig out this info, just like the bulletproof one too.
DeleteHis system was already messed up with too much drug abuse. Most drugs especially tooth surgery drugs might react with the messed up one in him. I have had enough tooth surgeries to last me a lifetime. I tell the doctors which drugs I react to. It is even written boldly on my file cos it can kill within minutes if not adhered to. Infact one LA is not enough to numb me but two strong ones. I think they were more or less hiding his medical history and treating the foremost one. Too bad. Sorry he had to go this way.
Na who chop belleful go de smoke cocaine. Like Tiwa tell im Teebliz.
May his soul RIP
ReplyDeleteMay his soul RIP
ReplyDeleteRip man
ReplyDeleteAll this controversies just to admit wrong medication. Ordinary toothache has lead to his death, clearly it was his time
ReplyDeleteHe looks older than his mum.
ReplyDeleteU wicked bitch
DeleteAnd so?
DeleteZankli has some experienced doctors.
ReplyDeleteWonder what happened between the time he was admitted there and the time he was moved to the other hospital.
Let him keep resting.
I hate seeing young people die off like this.
Atleast he wsnt flown abroad.
ReplyDeleteThey probably didn't have the time.
DeleteAnyone that is fit to fly abroad for treatment is not sick at all.
DeleteIt is not everytime one can fly abroad for treatment no matter how much you have, airlines will reject you and in cases of infectious diseases like Ebola, even the president will be denied entry to any country no matter how much he has.you will have to be left at the mercy of our Naija hospitals.
Our leaders should better do the needful or else, they will keep finding themselves in situations where they have minimal time for urgent medical attention and must be forced to search for help within Nigeria that they have messed up.
Do you know what all the money for the bulletproof BMW would have done to one govt hospital in that Abuja?
Please let the dead go in peace, afterall Nigerians die everyday from no oxygen, no light to power ICU machines, lack of blood transfusion facilities cos the STELLA oduahs in the system would rather buy Contact Lenses with the money.
The man has lived his life, there are millions of Nigerian children that didn't even have a chance at life, others starved to death in the most horrible way and no one even heard about them. Atleast he died in a good hospital.
Anon 11 43 you must be a dr....anyway i wonder why this hosp is talking to reporters at all
DeleteOh my God, is this press necessary now? I pray that God give the family comfort they desire. RIP young man.
ReplyDeleteA common cause of brain hemorrhage including SAH is Illicit drug use. I just discharged a 25year old male with same after 3weeks hospital stay. Cause of haemorrhage; tramadol soaked in codeine all washed down with alcohol. The boy may never walk and talk again because his CTscan showed a massive bleed in the region of MCA extending down to the basal ganglia and also spreading to some structures of the internal capsule. He pees on himself and stares into space. This isn't fiction, drug addicts need to rethink. I got more stories for another day.
ReplyDeleteJeez!!
DeleteTramadol soaked in codeine again??
As if the Tramadol wasn't bad enough.
I guess he wanted to be 'higher' than Mount Everest.
Teebliz,won ba e soro ni bi o.
DeleteWow!! Not worth it after all
Delete. RIP to the dead.
Exactly. Infact,in an exam, if they give you the scenario and ask for a possible diagnosis, ythere ain't no room for a second answer. Almost always. We had a case of a secondary school boy in lagos island, cocaine with acryllic for nails. Horrible...plus Nigerians won't even abuse one thing and be faithful to it. they must mix it with something, a salad of cocaine, acrylic, industrial glue, benyllin with codeine and then alcohol with Viju milk.
DeleteIn this case, how do you want to make out an antidote?
They just rush in and be screaming doctor doctor as if the person is a native doctor that will just collect charm from the sky.
Almost all the boys in Kings College lagos take cocaine, parents if you are reading this beware.
Can you imagine how people waste their lives how can you mix tramadol with cocaine?
DeleteRIP to the dead.
I tell you.
DeleteDrugs is horrible.
People should have mercy on their parents, family and love ones.
There is nothing appealing in drug use because the end is always horrible and painful. Unless the a person seeks for help and decides personally to turn away from drugs and friends that uses it.
Meanwhile even as I am writing this, a youth is where experimenting with a drug.
May God continue to shield our children from evil friends and influences, Amen.
This is exactly his cause of death.. Every other thing na story story. Rip to the dead..
Delete@ Ify, Amen,Amen and Amen o!
DeleteThis is not the first time I am hearing of the carelessness the doctors and nurses of that Turkish use in handling cases even with their outrageous fees....please they need to be extra careful or they are going down
ReplyDeleteThey said he arrived there in coma maybe it's already too late.
DeleteYoung apparently healthy male suddenly dies from complications from tooth extraction??? Nah. The boy had underlying issues, medical conditions or history of drug abuse that most likely complicated an otherwise straightforward procedure.
DeleteIt's not all the time doctors are to blame.
Why Turkey though? I'm sure she embezzled enough to fly him to the best hospitals in UK, or the USA.
It must be hard for her to mourn her child, no parent should ever go through that, but my thoughts are with countless mothers who lost children directly, through her despicable mismanagement of funds during her time as aviation minister leading to several plane crashes, and indirectly through the fact that a fraction of the funds she embezzled could have saved a child's life in LUTH.
I pray she finds the strength to cope with the loss.
Dr S.
Painful. They should allow the mother to mourn in peace
ReplyDeleteMy thought exactly, there might have been a drug interraction somewhere. Its only the deaceased that could have explained better but sadly he's gone. RIP!
ReplyDeleteOh dear! Same thing happened to my grandma many years ago.
ReplyDeleteShe developed complications after having her tooth pulled out in an Owerri hospital.
She was rushed UNTH and was diagnosed with brain tumor or so and died some days later.
Just like that...
So painful!
