President Buhari Re-Launches War Against Indiscipline

The fight against corruption took a new twist on Monday with the re-introduction of the War Against Indiscipline, WAI, Brigade in Abuja by the federal government.

Unveiling the brigade, the Buhari-led Federal Government explained that the body will aide civil intelligence gathering in the area of insecurity, violence, kidnapping, and other forms of social vices.
Speaking during the unveiling, the Director General of National Orientation Agency, NOA, Dr Garba Abari said the current administration decided to re-introduce the programme for better performance in the fight against indiscipline and corruption

Recall that Buhari while he was the Military Head of State from 1984 to 1985, had introduced WAI as a panacea for corruption and to force Nigerians into exhibiting correct ethical conduct.

The programme then had gained so much popularity, as Nigerians disciplined themselves to do the right thing. The culture even continued for a while after he was ousted.

WAI was, however, criticised for human rights abuses regarding freedom, justice and equality, as the military brought its powers to bear in enforcing discipline on Nigerians.

  8. Good,no more beating traffic light or throwing gala paper or pure water sachet by the roadside.
Good one. Nigerians queue up where there is no queue in other countries but once they enter Nigeria, they become larger than life itself and start pooing and peeing all over the place like baby rats and cockroaches.

  13. You guys should focus on revamping the economy not all these wasteful gestures. A hungry man is an angry man...and WAI should have enough space to accommodate pple because an angry is capable of doing anyhow and u guys are capable of showing them anyhow. First thing first

  14. What the hell... people to flog us? Instead of this man to make its law n judiciary system very stable and upright so that who ever is found guilty will be charged and become an ex con... that way our lawyers will stop wasting and the law system won't be slow like snail... why bring people to oppress citizens. Isn't this democracy again?

    1. Yes it is necessary. Whether or not you're poor and hungry, doesn't mean you should live a filthy life style.. Nigerians should learn to keep their environment clean. PERIOD!

  19. People are so short sighted. Do we realize that WAI will create new job opportunities for people???? The Economy is harsh but it is not every government initiative that should be. criticized. Please be constructive and objective in your criticism at least . The Wailers will never see anything good bcos they are blinded by hatred for the Buhari led government.
